This company is a real scam. First they call you on the phone claiming to assist you with student loan forgiveness. They want to charge you $599 processing fee and $39 per month to handle the payment. Once they have all your information, they call you back and want to charge you more money by telling you the Dept. of Education has insisted on raising your payment. They are very rude to deal with. When ask to ensure they cancelled all your paperwork and send you an email regarding this matter, they say they cannot send you an email. Please beware of this company. I believe they are phony and should not be dealt with.

landmark piece of legislation to help ease the burden of student loan debt for people that qualify. We giveclients payment amounts based on statements they give us verbally over the phone, but if they cannot prove that Incomeand the data pulled from the IRS comes back higher their payment will go up based on the Federal income guidelines. When a discrepancy is found we reach out to the client and the client can take It or leave it at that point ... if theychoose to leave it we refund their fee as was done in this case. We submit all our files without consideration to having paidtheir fee to us in part or in full we submit all paper work A.S.A.P to give them the highest level of services in industry.Sincerely[redacted]

1file sales reps promise they will help find government assistance to help pay a portion or all of your student loan debt. However, once you do not qualify for assistance, they will charge $600 to move your loans to another lender under the pretense that they are helping you get your loans up to date and make a lower payment to save interest over an extended period of time. My loan repayment plan I was on before 1file moved my loans was better. 1file's $600 charge is confused to make you believe it's paying towards your loans. I had to take a forbearance plan to pay 1files charges and the student loan payment at same time. 1file charges for a service that is misleading and falsely represented by their teams.

This company keeps saying email"s" and calls. There were no calls and ONE email. That is terrible management of a loan. If I would have received this thing called a follow-up email or ONE phone call maybe I could have done something. I am assuming I thought the ONE email was an unknown bill collector. If I received a SECOND email I would have realized that action was needed. ONE email??? You are putting your company's reputation on ONE email?
To reiterate I was never called, I received one email, and I was billed regularly for 4 to 5 months after they stopped paying the loans.
I went into default because I was not informed of what I needed to do next. The ONE email obviously didn't show me action was needed or my credit was going to take a massive hit because this terrible loan management company wasn't going to attempt to contact me again.
As I stated in my initial complaint it is fraudulent to allow a company to charge for managing a loan and allowing the client's loan to default instead of doing everything possible to contact the client. One email is a ridiculous ground to stand on. I cannot believe that you are not willing to admit how wrong your company is. The damage to my credit is going to take years to fix. Thanks to 1file.org's management team I was declined for a small business credit card due to my student loans (the loans they were managing) going into default.
I cannot stress how disgusted I am with you.

The client was refunded the money to the card which it was received, and we continue to keep her in the program at the same rate she was quoted by the Department of Education after they pulled her IRS records., without receiving compensation. We have tried explaining to the client " How it works" but unfortunately that does not mean the client understands, so in this case we will just do the necessary work in a charitable manner.

Dear Revdex.com,

Our initial position has not changed and we feel it already addressed in our prior response to client's complaint.
Thank you.

[redacted] , the same servicer that never advised you since 2012 that you where eligible for $0 Income Based Repayment is now telling you to put loans in deferment with interest accruing monthly and the balance growing, as opposed to what we recommend which is remaining in the $0 dollar payment, no balance increase and the months in school count towards eventual forgiveness. This doesn't surprise me.!I'm glad or after research you can do this all on your own, I am glad that we have made you aware. I would be a little more hesitant on trusting everything your loan servicer is advising, so in the end we helped.

The client was refunded $441 as requested to resolve the complaint and we met exactly what the client asked for as a resolution.

Please respond to the following issues raised by the consumer:
- "They say that the monthly payments will be going towards your loans and after certain amount of time your loans are forgiven...The monthly payments in reality are for their own business, never towards your loans."
This is simply not true,We record 3rd Party Verifications for each enrollment
The TPV is simply created by establishing a 3-way call between our agents, a customer, and the TPV system. Upon connection TPV will ask the customer for identifying information, to confirm their agreement, and if they are the authorized Credit Card Holder and do they understand the relationship, payments and payment dates and other Terms and Conditions within our service agreement, by a neutral party who has no stake in that transaction.
TPV call recording is not required. We use TPV as reliable documentation of our Quality Assurance purposes.
In that recording the client answered the following with a very clear YES to all.(FILE ATTACHED)
Email address:
Tax Filing Address:
Filing Status:
AGI:
Family Size:
Loan Program:

Obligation amount to Servicer:

- "So again I restate this company lies..they dont give 100 percent money back guarantee because if they would, I would not be in this website requesting for my money."

Client enrolled, canceled within 1 business day and  was never charged a penny. I'm not sure what type of acceptable resolution she is looking for.

We are sorry Ms. [redacted] feels misled in any way. To clear things up, 1file.org does NOT make any outgoing sales calls. We are a document preparation company and are hired by retail companies to complete Direct Consolidation and/or Income Driven Repayment plan applications for individuals with...

student loans they have enrolled. In this particular case, we did review the recording for the initial call made by the retail company's sales agent, and also the quality control call recording made prior to enrollment - and everything was in order. There was never a time that the agent misrepresented themselves during the conversation. Ms. [redacted] maybe assumed the call was from her loan servicer, Great Lakes. Ms. [redacted] also signed a service agreement, were it clearly states that this is a service that is available free of charge for them if they choose to complete the process on their own. We have have gladly refunded the $199 Ms. [redacted] paid, and we have also completed all of the work for her. Please see proof of refund below...Date/Time: 11/03/2017 10:50:06 AM PDTTransaction ID: [redacted]Transaction Type: Card RefundEntry Method: KeyedAmount: -199.00

I have not been reimbursed my full amount.  I have bank records to show that $116.50 has not been refunded.  I would appreciate if you would refund my money that was paid to you and you did nothing!

1file.org has been a blessing for me. I was drowning in student loan debt, and had no idea that Income Based Repayment programs existed! They were very helpful and informative. I am now in a better place financially and the dark cloud of my student loan debt has been lifted! I would recommend all of my friends and family to this company.
To everyone at 1file.org - Thanks again for all of your help and genuine care!!!!

made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. As complainant, I am dissatisfied with the offer by 1file.org because I distinctly asked the question for clarity at the very beginning, "are you asking for my total income or just my income from my salary with my current employment?". I was told to just provide the income from my current employment. The IRS forms the company requested clearly showed the income I received from my current employment, without question, but complainant feels that there was a plan to intentional deceive complainant to process bank card and to later deny that all along, that the company had a strategic plan to collect funds for and charge more than initially offered complainant to pay each month. Nevertheless, whether the agent was deliberately deceptive or not, complainant should not be charged with the company's error. Agents represent the company and the company is responsible to fully refund complainant for the company's error

Much like the IRS will not know who your accountant is ,[redacted] will not know who's preparing your documentation.  The question you should've asked [redacted] is why they didn't tell you you've been eligible for a lower payment for 4 years .
97% of the people that have loans do not understand them at all or the relationship between the issuer or the servicer or a third-party.
Let alone the different types of loans and the benefits they each have.

I was asked by 1file.org to provide my annual income. I did so on an estimate in which I calculated in my head for a few seconds. I then provided information to allow 1file.org to get the exact amount of my annual income for 2014. I was not married at that time and my spouses income was only mentioned to find out how another income would effect us in the future. 1file.org quoted me at paying 39$ a month for 300 payments and a 600$ service fee then my loan would be forgiven. The next phone conversation the price went as high as 169$ which as explained to me was 39$ monthly service fee and 129$ to the loan holder which was [redacted]. Why 1file.org didn't disclose the monthly service fee on initial conversation is still a mystery but I agreed with the amount because it was a lot less than the 271$ I was facing with [redacted] without the assistance of 1file.org. Again after that conversation and 2 installment payments of 199$, the monthly quote changed again to 41$ total, during a conversation between 1file.org and my spouse. After that conversation is when my wife and I decided to end our agreement with 1file.org because we couldn't get a consistent quote or answer to our questions concerning the quote differences. 1file.org says a refund was denied because work that they were contracted to do, was completed "beyond expectations." I think its obvious by now that as a client of 1file.org at the time, my expectations were clearly not achieved. I believe it is also obvious that 1file.org has not acted in "good faith" by saying they agreed to waive any outstanding balance or else we would not be currently having this dispute. All that was said regarding a refund was that they would "start the refund process." Full payment was not issued to 1file.org simply because I did not want to continue to pay for a service that I was not satisfied with. Furthermore, I absolutely did not claim the charge was fraud nor did I claim to have "no idea" who charged my credit card. I only claimed that I did not recognize the company name on my bank statement that the 2 installments of 199$ were made to.  Nothing about this whole process was ever done on my part with "malicious" intent. I was only seeking clear and honest explanations of separate and drastically different monthly quotes and after not receiving any of that is when my spouse and I decided to cancel agreement.  In latter and most recent conversations with 1file.org to get explanations or identify discrepancies, 1file.org representatives and management became rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional without allowing me to ask questions or seek explanations and was hung up on then my phone number was blocked. My wife and I were never at any point rude or disrespectful to any employees of 1file.org but my wife and I on the other hand were subjected to such.
If I won't be refunded because the contract work has been completed, then I should be allowed to receive the services outlined in the contract stating that I would pay 41$ a month under the Income Based Repayment Plan.

Client agrees we completed the service contracted yet insisted a partial refund as a resolution. Our contract is simple and easy to understand...The program this client is in requires a yearly vetting process which we do year in and year out for a small monthly fee which clients in a zero payment are happy to pay. If this yearly action is not taken or filed improperly the client goes back to their previous much higher payment. There are many other benefits to 1file.org managing your loan repayments.Much like Tax preparation, you can do it yourself or hire a professional.Bottom line is we delivered as agreed.

Mr. [redacted] enrolled with an affiliate of ours on November 30, 2016. The affiliate's company name is [redacted] They are the company who had initial contact with him. They were the ones who quoted Mr. [redacted] for a loan consolidation of his student loans and also for...

a new repayment plan. The role of our company, 1File.org, is the "back end" processing. We process the documentation for the clients our affiliates enroll. We are completely separate entities. In working on Mr. [redacted]' file, we came across some issues. We were missing Income Documentation, and also his "FSA" (Federal Student Aid) username and password was incorrect. The FSA is used when submitting the loan applications to the Department of Education, and without this - we are unable to complete the work we were contracted to do. We made several attempts with [redacted] and also sent Mr. [redacted] several emails asking him for the information - with no avail. At which point, Mr. [redacted] sent us an email on April 17th, 2017 requesting to cancel and a full refund for the money he had paid. I, personally sent him an email confirming his cancellation. On April 18th, 2017 I Refunded all 4 payments he had paid us and also sent him email confirmations of each refund. The total refund was in the amount of $638 - which is the total amount he had paid us. We are not in the business of collecting money from people we cannot help - therefore, the refund was processed immediately. We apologize that he did not have a good experience. If we would've had a complete file with correct information from the beginning, things would have run smoothly.  General04/18/2017 9:14 am[redacted]Date/Time: 04/18/2017 9:11:57 AM PDTTransaction ID: [redacted]Transaction Type: Card RefundEntry Method: KeyedAmount: -[redacted]Date/Time: 04/18/2017 9:12:48 AM PDTTransaction ID: [redacted]Transaction Type: Card RefundEntry Method: KeyedAmount: -[redacted]Date/Time: 04/18/2017 9:13:34 AM PDTTransaction ID: [redacted]Transaction Type: Card RefundEntry Method: KeyedAmount: [redacted]Date/Time: 04/18/2017 9:14:15 AM PDTTransaction ID: [redacted]Transaction Type: Card RefundEntry Method: KeyedAmount: -39.00
