1st Avenue Pharmacy

Review: I have been a customer of 1st Avenue Pharmacy for a very long time. Years in fact. if I ever had a problem or question with my medication, I was always able to talk to any of the many staff members. my financies became a struggle with all the co-pays I had to pay every month and the pharmacy was always willing to work with me on my bill. I made payment arrangements and faithfully made the payments as agreed.Every month I would call in and say I was calling to make my $45.00 payment and that they had my permission to run my card for that amount. October 3rd, 2013, I called in because I wanted to let them know I would be bringing in a cash payment,the next day because I was unable to find my debit card, and was having to call the bank to stop my card so no one could use it if found. The Pharmacist [redacted] said that was fine. I hung up and checked my bank account a few hrs later. Only to my Horror that the Pharmacist had run my Debit card for the remaining amount left on my bill. Knowing that she had not been given the Authority to run it for that amount especially when I had called and let her know I would be making a cash payment for my October payment. Im on Social Security. A fixed income. How many others have they done this to? I never signed papers saying they could run my card with out my permission. as far as Im concerned, that is theft. They have no proof I signed anything and I demand my money back in full or I will take them to Court.Desired Settlement: I want my full Refund from this Pharmacy and a written apology for taking money off my card with out my written permission. Because it is against the law to run a customer's card on file for any amount other than what they have given you permission to do so, and I called them and told them I would be making a cash payment, and that I no longer had access to that card. At the Time, I had no Knowledge where or who had my Debit card, and it took me over 6 hours to locate it.

We absolutely disagree with this complaint. The Customer owed us $181.57 from prescription co-pays that were picked up by the patient. We have extended the patients credit and continued to give her good service even though we were not paid for our services. The customer was so far behind on her bill that it was unlikely she would ever catch up. We have made multiple attempts to communicate with the customer to have her bill paid down.
