In response to the numerous attempts at reaching our office, our office number *** *** has been the same for over years and it is manned from 8:00AM - 4:00PM every day Monday through Friday. I checked with all office employees and there have not
been calls or voice mails left at this number.Exterior concrete has a year warranty from our sub-contractor. There is not a contractor in WI that offers a lifetime warranty on any product that is subject to our elements. If there is a problem with mortar on her brick, we can certainly have our mason take a look at and repair any issues if evident. Please have her call me at *** *** to schedule a time if that is how we need to proceed.Thank you,*** ***VP-Sales1st Choice Builders, IncScheuring RdSuite BDe Pere, WI

Met with *** *** on her issues at her home on Friday afternoon. The mortar on her exterior brick was a non-issue. There are weep holes with fabric installed on the bottom of her brick to help moisture escape from behind the wall. Explained this to her and she now understands there is no problems with her mortar. For the concrete, there is an area around 12" wide by the length of overhead garage door between the garage floor and the driveway flatwork that has some spalling from winter salt. I am contacting one of our venders to look at laying an epoxy coating over the top of the that area. I will be contacting her this week to let her know when that will occur (she has agreed to leave a side garage door open for entry if it is going to be done while she is at work. Please let me know if you need anything else or I will send you a notice when the epoxy is completed.Thank you,*** ***

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. On 6 1 15 I sent [redacted] a text message with all the open issues/warranty issues going on with my house.  One of the items was water leaking into my garage whenever it rained.  This is the spot where I am having my concrete issues.   He had sent [redacted], one of his workers to fix the problem.  [redacted] admitted to me he didn't know what to do and adjusted the rubber on the bottom of the garage door.  That did not fix the problem and later in the summer when he was working on something else I mentioned to him the issue with the water leaking into the garage and standing after rain is still not resolved.  He said to wait until fall until the house settles and they would figure out what to do.  I have a stream of text messages to [redacted] regarding issues with my house and the warranty work  not being done timely and lack of response from both [redacted] and Jeff.  I spoke with [redacted] on several occasions and he said my house was built too fast and the problems he was having finding good help.  I should also note that [redacted] told me that he was not on the residential side but on the commercial side .  He needed to step in and take over the account before I even closed on the house (apparently this has happened before with other customers). He told me that any items that were unresolved during the warranty period would be taken care off due to me being patient and them not being timely. I am not asking for a lifetime warranty on concrete, only what is fair.  The issue was brought to their attention in June of  2015, it was not really resolved by the builder.  I am not a contractor.  Perhaps they should have had a more knowledgeable person deal with the issue when it first presented itself.    I texted [redacted] 3 28 16 asking about the warranty on the concrete and the issue I was having.  I was asking a question based on the conversations we had had previously.  He said he'd drive by.  Based on what I know, I don't believe this happened. As far as the mortar on the brick.  [redacted] texted me on 5 31 16 and said [redacted] didn't see an issue and he tried to contact me. I responded, how did he try and contact me as my phone has no missed calls or text messages from him. In the response I texted where the issues were and the fact that metal or whatever backing they use is sticking out of the house. In regards to the issue of their office phones not being answered, I have a record of the attempts to contact their office number on my phone.  My cell phone, keeps track of all incoming, outgoing, and missed calls.  So seems like there is miscommunication within their office. In summary, they are aware of the mortar issue and should have sufficient information to fix.  As far as the concrete, this was brought to their attention well within the warranty period and should be covered.Thank you

Review: Purchased a home and within the first year had issues with mold in a closet. The contractor cleaned up the mold but the problem returned. The mold was cleaned up again and we paid the contractor to have spray foam insulation and a heating duct added to the closet to help eliminate the issue. The mold returned and the contractor returned and found that they did not properly wrap a portion of the outside of the house. They never did check the rest of the house to see if that was wrapped properly or not. There is still a little mold in that closet plus mold in two other closets. The contractor has come to look at the issue multiple times and said they would fix it but haven't. The contractor will not answer phone calls or return messages that have been left. We have been trying to get the issue fixed for 2 years since the last time the mold was worked on.Desired Settlement: Complete the repairs they said they would or reimburse us if we hire a different contractor to complete the work.

Response:

The details in the customer's statement do not reflect the true happenings of the nature of the complaint. First of all, the home was built to all building codes and passed every inspection with the local building municipality. However, in the first year after purchase of the home, mold was identified in the master bedroom closet. First Choice Builders, Inc. re mediated the mold and gave the homeowner some options as they were worried about it returning and chose to have the spray foam insulation and heat duct added to the closet area. A year later (last fall), the homeowner began calling and asking someone to look at other areas in the home (closet areas and bathrooms). I went to the home on two occasions as well as one of our field personnel. During the visits, we looked at many things, but due to the brutal weather and heavy snow accumulation, we let the homeowner know there were some additional things that should be looked at and could not be done until the weather improved and snow accumulation melted.
