Within the first 8 months of purchasing our new home, the counter tops started to separate in the kitchen.Within the first 8 months of purchasing our new construction home, the countertops in the kitchen began to separate. My husband called and the person who answered the phone told him that sometimes this happens and it was not a manufacturer or installation defect, therefore our 1 year warranty on the countertops did not applied. It was recommended that we keep a bag of rice over the seperation. The company offered to replace our kitchen countertops at our expense full price with no discount.Desired SettlementThis really should have been handled months ago. We cannot afford to replace the countertops. We expected for our 1 year warranty to cover a 1/4 inch separation at the seams of the counter top. Was surprised that the company told us that this could not be repaired and that the only way to get this fixed was to pay full price for them to reinstall countertops.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted], Service Contact Phone:[redacted]Contact Email: [redacted]This situation was a surprise to us, as we have not had this brought to our team's attention. Our normal protocol is to send someone out to the home to assess the situation and try any way possible to keep the homeowner from incurring additional expenses; however this sometimes cannot be avoided. It is not our policy make judgments on what can be fixed and address charges with the customer without having someone from our organization visually assess the issue. After several attempts to reach the [redacted] after being made aware of the situation through a Revdex.com complaint, we made contact. At this time, we are waiting on their call back to finalize an appointment date and time with our Operations Manager and the Countertop Vendor that provided the tops in their home. During this appointment the issue will be assessed and all options available will be discussed with the homeowners.
