Complaint: I am rejecting this response because: This is just one reason we are very frustrated, 1st Electric wants to focus on the new electrician and the job he did compared to focusing on the job his electrician tried to do.I only see one picture attached and that is the picture that we sent of the completed job, after hiring a 2nd electrician I have attached all pictures, and explanations are below We let the technician from 1st Electric know, and sent an immediate review at [redacted] .com letting the company know we were not happy The technician shrugged his shoulders on how to resolve the situation and said he would talk to the owner We never heard back We saw the company let a remark on our review from 10-( at [redacted] ) saying they wanted to make it right, but no one ever contacted us At this point 1st Electric lost our trust and we had to hire another electrician to fix their job We are refusing to let 1st Electric back into our house for a few reasonsWe don't see the point of letting Matthew in our house when the job is now complete, there is nothing left to fix We also refused to let him in our house after my wife phoned him and he was extremely unprofessional and made rude remarks We then saw the Google reviews about this company (of the listed reviews are negative, reporting similar problems to what we are experiencing) online and realized that this is a pattern and this company is not to be trusted We quickly decided that this is not a person we want in our house or near our kidsWe then contacted Revdex.com and [redacted] and both these companies recommended that since we are feeling uncomfortable, do not let the owner come to the houseWe found it extremely odd that the owner said he would drop his price if we let him come to our house (attached in e-mails) We are not hiding anything, we welcome anyone from Revdex.com or another trusted electrician to look at the work the new electrician completed However the work the new technician completed has nothing to do with this complaint We are not understanding why 1st Electric wants to focus on the new electrician and not the concerns stated To set the record straight and move forward, we did not fix the box We did hire another technician to come fix the work from 1st Electric, install fans, lights and complete the upstairs TV hiding of wires All of which he did in a timely manner, up to codeWe were originally planning on hiring 1st Electric to do all of this but quickly realized they were not a good fit I have cashed checks, and contact information for the new technician that did a great job I do not feel comfortable giving this information to 1st Electric as I worry they might harass this electrician I do not see what the new technician has to do with the reasons we are upset and any reason to involve him We did not contact Revdex.com to resolve what the box looks like new and worry if the new electrician is up to code, I would like to focus on the issue of 1st Electric which includes Not completing the job they were hired for Being extremely slow (whether on purpose or not) to get more money out of the job Being overcharged for the work performed To extend on our concerns and the reasons we contacted Revdex.com: 1- Not completing the job they were hired for The technician from 1st Electric stated he was not sure how to do this job He might have years experience, but dealing with TV wires and outlets is not a strength for him He seemed very confused and stated several times he was unsure When he said he was done and all the wires were hanging out, I told him I was upset He said he didn't understand what we wanted or what to do I then told him he was done and I did not want him working on this project, or any other The outlet was visible from the front and all wires were hanging out, needing to be fished through the basement Also, we have gone through major remodels in two other houses in the past years and have a lot of experience with electricians I have never had an electrician ask for my help To "assist" the technician, I had to miss two major meetings, losing money on my end. Finally, the owner knew we were not happy and did not let the technician try to finish the job Why did he not contact us immediately to resolve this?Instead he ignored us and sent a high priced invoice 2., As stated, we have worked with many electricians for remodels, including the newest electrician we hired to fix 1st Electric's work We know fishing wires takes time However 1st Electric did not fish all the wires as evident by the attached pictures Working with electricians we know the pace and what is average The pace of this technician from 1st Electric was VERY slow I am not sure if it is because he was older or because he was trying to get more money from us since it was an hourly rate Because he took so long, our invoice was much higher The work performed does not match the job performed, not to mention the job wasn't complete and that we had to pay another electrician to fix the work performed We have already paid $to 1st Electric Attached are the pictures Document number [redacted] are the pictures we took as soon as 1st Electric left our house The outlet box is visible from the front and all the wires were left hanging out Not to mention the huge mess they left and didn't try to clean up Attached are pictures [redacted] and ***, what the TV and wires look like now, after we had to hire another technician to correct the work from 1st Electric After the owner was extremely unprofessional we requested e-mail communication only Attached are the e-mails between us It lists everything that has been said by both parties, including where the owner offered to lower his price if we let him in our house We are very frustrated on many levels We hired this company to do a job they could not complete We had to pay another technician to fix their job, we have had to deal with a very unprofessional company We have paid 1st Electric for their time, but feel we are being overcharged for the work performed Regards, [redacted]

from: Mathew F [redacted] to: "[email protected]" date: Wed, Jun 3, at 12:PMI will fix the flooring and baseboard, put request you guys to get a quote on fixing the baseboard and flooringThe quote must sent to me before work is performed

I believe the response from the business owner is unclear and do not accept at this time. Prior to the complaint he stated that he knew of someone to fix both the baseboard and flooring. First Choice Electric has not once requested for us/the homeowners to get a quote to fix the damages; in which we do have recordings to prove this. Also, in his response he does not state whether or not he will be fixing the paint on where the drywall was patched in two places: the first in the living room, and the second is down the downstairs stairwell. To accept a resolution we would like the following to happen:1. Have First Choice Electric get quotes to fix the baseboard, flooring, and paint color on both walls where drywall patches are located2. Fix the paint on both locations of the drywall patches3. Replace the wood flooring panel where the damage hole is located the same wood flooring/African Xantos 4. Replace the baseboard where the damage is located to match the rest of the baseboards in the home5. Set a deadline on when these items will be fixedWhen these items are fulfilled to the homeowners expectations then we will have a resolved complaint.Thank you

To begin listing my complaints about the service I received from 1st Choice Electric & Service, by the company’s owner, Matt F*, I will first state that he failed to complete the job I hired him forIn preparation for that job, I had obtained all supplies Matt said he needed including breaker panel, wires, ground rods, etcI cut, and dug out a large cubicle hole in the floor of the garageThen paid $2,to *** ***, for direct bore conduit placement between service terminal (at the sidewalk), and house’s main electrical panel (inside the garage)The conduit was placed on Wednesday, Friday, 3.27.2015, Matt F* was to install panel and complete amp electrical service upgrade with the City of Longmont, for $That morning he showed up without the permit from city, and had a very bad attitudeI offered to help and went to pick up the permit from the cityThe City said he had not scheduled the upgrade with them in advance (like Matt had said he would)I scheduled upgrade for the following week, and returned to the houseOver the course of the day it became blatantly clear that he and his partner were inept and performed sloppy workFor instance, I witnessed Matt wildly ripping wires out of old panel while his partner created a large ugly gash in the 2xhe was trying to drill a small hole throughUpon questioning them regarding an improper grounding, they emphatically told me what they were doing was up to code and it didn’t matter because they could get it past the inspection regardlessAt that point I reminded Matt that I simply wanted the work done up to code, and I was the one who would be paying him so that’s how it should be done. Later, Matt F* asked me to go to the store for more suppliesOn my return, I saw he had placed a giant hose below the panel which was sticking out of the wallMatt said the panel was done, and he could come back later to complete the water ground and then he could get it to pass inspectionThe giant hose between the panel and concrete conduit was not what we had agreed to, or anything that could be enclosed within drywall I told him that, and stated it was unacceptable, as were other items which were not up to codeAt this point Matt became more angry, unreasonable, demanding I accept the work he had done, and would not leave until I agreed to let them return and fix things at a later dateOn attempting to clean up the garage and use electrical furnishings in the house, tool motors burned and smoked, fixtures burned out so I deemed the house unsafe and turned off all power. After reporting the situation to police, I notified Matt F* he was not to returnWhen he demanded money for his work, I explained that he had made mistakes which caused damages and the job would require more workAfter determining the cost of job completion, and repairs, and replacement for damages, if they were not in excess of $800, I agreed to pay him the differenceThen I sought more reputable electricians to assess damages and complete the jobSee attached Permit from City of Longmont; it shows “electrical rough, partial approval” on That means it did NOT pass inspectionLongmont Inspector *** *** saw the work Matt F* had performed, and he stated, “Looks like Matt *** himself cutting conduit twice, and knew he had screwed himself.” amp electrical upgrade is listed as completed on 4.14.2015, by *** ***, (not 1st Choice Electric & Service) Mistakes Matt F* made while installing the electrical panel caused damages to my furnishings and other equipment totaling over $1,He improperly cut conduit which would cost $2,to replaceHe was dishonest, disrespectful, unreasonable, and left a mess of code violations and trash in my garageFinally, he placed a claim against me with a collections agency for $800, telling them he had completed the work but was not paid To resolve this dispute, Matt F* must withdraw his claim with collections, and take responsibility for the damages he caused.Regards,*** ** ***

We are refusing to let 1st Electric back into our house for a few reasons. We don't see the point of letting Matthew in our house when the job is now complete, there is nothing left to fix.   We also refused to let him in our house after my wife phoned him and he was extremely unprofessional and made rude remarks.  We then  saw the Google reviews about this company (2 of the 5 listed reviews are negative, reporting similar problems to what we are experiencing) online and realized that this is a pattern and this company is not to be trusted.   We quickly decided that this is not a person we want in our house or near our kids. electrician is a very experence in doing electrical work. He was been dueing it for 30 years. I was not tring to be sexest at all I didn't no who was on the phone talking to me about a job. She was very rude about it. I wanted to talk to the person that called in the work order. This job is based on time and material. I tried to set up a time to look at the job to see what happened and they refused to. I feel that they didnt hire an electricain due to having the wrong cover plate on the outlet in the picture that they sent me. They just redid it themselfs I will reduce the bill to 215 dollars and we both can move forward. I have attach a picture that they sent me showing how they wanted it done. This wouldnt base the electrical code. The outlet doesnt seem to be atttached to a box. I attached a attached a picture of the work that we did to code. (MY ELECTRICIAN).

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:I am a stay at home mother in which my schedule is not hard to work around.  There have been no attempts from the business to get contractors in here to fix the damages done by First Choice Electric.  In fact, when the drywall was repaired the gentleman that had came to fix it had told us that Matthew was unreliable and felt that he was being around the bush with him about payment.  Therefore, I would like the Matthew/First Choice Electric to contact the following companies for repairs:To fix the paint where drywall patches were fixed:  [redacted]To fix the African Xantos hardwood flooring panel and the baseboard where holes were drilled:  [redacted]When the estimates and damages are set up by the business and repaired (in a timely matter) by the above companies then we will have an agreement.
