1st Choice Heating

Review: We had a problem with our Goodman Furnace ([redacted]) which we purchased from 1st Choice Heating on November 18, 2010. This occurred on March 2, 2014. We called 1st Choice Heating and it was fixed (main board). It was covered under our warranty.

We paid 1st Choice Heating $380 ($280 for the part, $100 for the no heat call). They have so far refused to refund our money despite many attempts on our part to retrieve it. They have told us they will bring it to us, then never show up.

We called [redacted] on (not 100% sure on the date - I believe it was April 30) and he said he would bring us the money one of these days.

We then called him back and [redacted] told us he would bring us the money on May 2 between 3:00-5:00 P.M.. He never showed up. [redacted] then told us he would bring the money on May 5. He never showed up.

We called and left messages on May 6, May 7 and May 8 and left messages that were never returned.

We called on May 12 and [redacted] stated that since we "mouthed off" (we have no idea what he meant by that) that now it would be a long time before we ever get the money.

We called the Goodman Furnace company and they also talked to [redacted] and told him he should give us our money.

We called [redacted] on June 16 and he said he would bring the money that day at the end of the day. He never showed up.

We called [redacted] on June 19. He said he will bring the money in a day or so because he is so busy.

We also have found out that he has not been licensed since 2001 and he has also not been registered with the Department of Safety and Professional Services since 2011. He also has over 85 court cases on record in the Wisconsin Circuit Court. I filed a complaint with the Department of Safety and Professional Services on approximately May 15 and they are supposed to let me know how the investigation goes but I haven't heard anything from them as of yet.Desired Settlement: We want our money back for the part which was covered under warranty.

Review: Seen advertising for the business had come over for and estimate on a new furnace installed . Was told there was a $700 focus on energy rebate after the furnace was installed . Said he would come back after installation with a rebate card to fill out to get my $700 rebate . After numerous calls to his phone from me with no answer and no return call from voice mails I called from my sons phone , and he answered , said he would have some one there with in an hour , no one showed .Desired Settlement: My $700 rebate by 1St choice or Wisconsin focus on energy

I advised the consumer that we left the paper work with him when we finished the job and it was up to him to send in the rebate information. There is nothing I can do about this.

I needed a new furnace, pronto. I called Van's heating in DePere. They estimator/salesman wanted over $8000. Custom Heating, now First Choice, same phone, put a top tier furnace with AC for less than half that.

First Choice Heating in Green Bay Wi / [redacted] the owner did not show up for an appointment. I called 2 hours after the scheduled appointment and he told me they had a job in Winneconne and forgot. Promised to show up the next week same day and time. After waiting until 2 hours after the 2nd scheduled appointment in which they did not show, I called him. Then he started to back track and said he thought it was for Friday. [redacted].
