Whom It May Concern: In responce to the customer reply dated 10/9/to [redacted] : We have no proof as to the reason the engine failed, a certified mechanic can confirm that a heat shield doesn't protect the engine's oil from overheating ( because it gets just as hot), it simply and cosmetically shield the surrounding plastic and mesh componentsWe would be more then willing to conduct an engine test at our expense to determine the cause of failure I am open to be contacted by Revdex.com at [redacted] [redacted] Managing partner

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below What 1st Class Imports does not realize is that this is not a warranty issue 1st Class Imports selected the mechanic and took the car to have it repaired When the vehicle was returned it did not drive for more than one day and there was a complete engine failure The engine on a Altima with 84,miles does not just fail It failed because the mechanic for 1st Class Imports failed to install heat shields that protect the engine oil from the to degree heat put off by the catalytic converter1st Class Imports needs to seek some sort of remedy from the mechanic they chose to do the work This vehicle also has no airbags and is unsafe to drive 1st Class Imports knew that the car was unsafe, when they read out the codes for the catalytic problem The only acceptable remedy is for 1st Class Imports to accept the vehicle back and issue a refund Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.  The response from 1st Class Imports included a link to their website for this car, this link has been updated since our purchase to reflect 2 statements specifically regarding this situation. it now has a disclaimer of:  "ALL VEHICLES MAY HAVE CRACKED PANELING/HEADLINERS DUE TO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND/OR IMPACT DAMAGES?" and "ALL VEHICLES MAY HAVE CRACKED/RIPPED PANELING AND HEADLINER DUE TO PRIOR AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND/OR IMPACT DAMAGE"We have pictures and screenshots of the original add that do not have these statements in it.  This is clearly moved into the fraudulent realm and we are still asking for a full replacement of the headliner.  I included 3 pics of the screenshots that we took on May 11 2017 and the last pic is a screenshot of the now newly updated website.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]

In responce to claim#[redacted] with regards to [redacted] and a purchase of a 2006 Nissan Altima vin# 1[redacted]

vehicle is having a “stalling” issue, I kindly offered to take a look at what might cause it, since he just bought the car and I wanted to help him out if I could. The car was taken by 1st Class Imports to “[redacted]” and it was determined by them that the catalytic converters were clogged and needed to be replaced. Once they were replaced the vehicle drove great and Mr. [redacted] picked it up. About a week later his father called me to say that the engine failed and that they were taking it in to the Nissan dealer to get diagnosed. Over the next month we’ve been communicating with MR. [redacted]’s father regarding figuring out this situation. I offered $1000 toward repairs and help finding a quality used engine. I tried to explain to him that replacing the converters didn’t contribute to the engine failing, nor the heat shields not being there. Plus there is no way to prove whether those heat shields were on the car to begin with.  Also the claim that we should have known about the airbags not being active (there is also no proof of that) : a mechanic looking for engine codes will not be able to see anything about the SRS system unless he reads into it, so there is no way we or the mechanic would have known anything about the SRS faults, same goes for the claim that the engine is not the original. I have purchase paperwork from when we bought this car and service paperwork for what we have done, the customer was provided the carfax report and had the ability to take the vehicle for an inspection before purchase. We have been in business since 2005 and have a following of return customers, If I know something is wrong with the car, we fix it or wholesale it. I will not put a customer in the car knowing that the engine will fail in a month. I am offering partial contribution to the repairs as described in this response.

The customer has purchased a used vehicle with a rebuilt title, being fully aware of it, all disclosures signed. The vehicle is in nearly immaculate shape for a rebuilt title car, plus we have initially negotiated the price $1000 down. The headliner rips are due to the airbag being deployed, there...

is a description of such flaws in all our vehicle listings. We do not take pictures of any flaws, unlike customer is stating, all our cars have standard 40 picture layout to show the vehicle at different angles, not to point out flaws. All listings get a general description that states " vehicles may have cracked paneling/headliners due to airbag deployments and/or impact damages" How did we misrepresent the car in any way? We have even agreed to replace the windshield for the customer even though it was damaged during shipping but customer didn't mark it on the bill of delivery therefore couldn't claim it with the shipping company. I have been more then fair in offering $700 toward the replacement / repair of the headliner but we cannot pay retail pricing for a brand new headliner from dealer. Not even insurance company will pay retail on a used vehicle claim. Ripped headliner is in no way affecting the safety of the passengers or the airbag system itself, all rebuilt vehicles are state inspected for safety prior to even being offered for sale. Customer is simply complaining about the cosmetic look of the vehicle and as previously stated in my communication with him, I will be willing to contribute $700 to the repairs or replacement whichever he wants to pursue. Below is a copy the vehicle listing showing the disclosure right below the main description text, in blue color.http://www.1classimports.com/detail-[redacted]-**_[redacted]For any questions or suggestions I can be reached directly at [redacted]Sincerely

What 1st Class Imports does not realize is that this is not a warranty issue.  1st Class Imports selected the mechanic and took the car to have it repaired.    When the vehicle was returned it did not drive for more than one day and there was a complete engine failure.  The engine on a 2006 Altima with 84,000 miles does not just fail.  It failed because the mechanic for 1st Class Imports failed to install heat shields that protect the engine oil from the 1200 to 1400 degree heat put off by the catalytic converter. 1st Class Imports needs to seek some sort of remedy from the mechanic they chose to do the work.  This vehicle also has no airbags and is unsafe to drive.  1st Class Imports knew that the car was unsafe, when they read out the codes for the catalytic problem.  The only acceptable remedy is for 1st Class Imports to accept the vehicle back and issue a refund.
