Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2014/09/04) */
Thank you for forwarding this complaint to our attentionWe would like to offer the following responseMs*** requested a moving estimate for service from MN to NCThe estimate was provided in good faith based upon a list of
inventory Ms*** provided to the relocation consultantThe estimate indicated that the delivery time frame could take up to business days from the 1st date Ms*** was available to receive shipmentMs*** indicated July 8, as the 1st date she would be available to receive her shipment and delivery occurred on July 30, 2014, within business days for her 1st available date
Ms*** provided an inventory consisting of items to be moved yet the inventory prepared on the date of service shows that Ms*** shipped items, times the number of inventory items she provided to the relocation consultantMs*** also incurred additional fees for packing services she required which were charged in addition to the estimateThis was also disclosed on the estimate provided by 1st Class MovingMs*** was provided with a new estimate reflecting increase in inventory and the added services and authorized our team to proceed with the move
Ms*** required a Long Carry at the time of delivery due to the distance from the closest access point the trailer could navigate to her doorAncillary charges including Long Carry were also disclosed in the estimate Ms*** received prior to choosing our serviceThe cost of the long carry was $Per the terms of the contract, payment in full for all services is due prior to unloadingMs*** could have opted to not pay the Long Carry fee however the driver would only have then unloaded the items from the trailer and it would have been Ms***'s responsibility to transport those items from that point to the residenceMs*** opted to pay the long carry fee to have the driver deliver her items to her
A manager from 1st Class spoke with Ms*** regarding the non assembly of the items and it was agreed that Ms*** would be reimbursed for hours of labor provided by a handyman at $per hourThat amount will be reimbursed in the context of a claim
We regret that items may have sustained some damage during the move1st Class Moving has an established claim process in place to assist our customersWe have asked our claim administrator to email claim forms to Ms*** so that she may submit a claim for the damaged items and the reassembly labor
1st Class moving provided Ms*** with an estimate in good faithMs*** shipped additional items and required additional service above what was included in her estimate and was charged accordinglyMs***'s estimate clearly indicated a delivery window of up to business days from the 1st she of availability and delivery occurred well within that windowMs*** should submit a claim for damages and compensation for the non assemblyThank you

Thank you for forwarding this consumers complaint to our attention. We offer the following response: Ms***-*** contracted for interstate
moving services which were provided in full. The shipment was delivered to Ms*** at a self storage facility after which Ms*** contracted with another moving company to transport the items to her residence.
Ms*** was advised delivery could take up to business days from the 1st date a customer can receive delivery1st Class Moving does its best to deliver as quickly and efficiently as possible however sometimes scheduling is disrupted due to mechanical breakdowns, weather, shipper availability, etcAny estimates on delivery were provided in good faith based upon the best information available at that timeWe regret the shipment did not arrive sooner but Ms*** received her delivery within the time frame stipulated on the contractAs delivery drivers are often on the road for weeks at a time some choose to travel with spouses or significant others1st Class Moving does not see that as unprofessional and is happy to accommodate their drivers as long as it does affect the quality of service
Our moving team provided professional packing services for a few items including a flat screen TVThe Inventory List, in close proximity to Ms*** signature advises customers: “Before signing check shipment, count items & describe loss or damage on the right above”There are no indications on the Inventory List suggesting the TV had arrived damaged. If Ms*** had documented damage to the TV prior to it being moved by another moving company, she would have been eligible for coverage despite not documenting the damage at deliveryAs the TV was moved by another party before the damaged was discovered and documented, 1st Class Moving cannot verify it caused the damage and therefore is not liable for the damage claimed
We strongly deny Ms*** suggestion that 1st Class Moving or its agents opened or sorted through her boxes and not the absence of evidence including notations on the Inventory List supporting this unfounded accusation.
Ms*** contracted for moving services which were provided in fullThe TV was delivered to Ms*** in apparent good condition and was then moved again by another party prior to discovering the damageThere is nothing showing the TV was not received in good condition and we believe it was very likely damaged by the other carrierThank you

Thank you for forwarding this consumer’s rejection, we offer the following rebuttal: Ms*** described the move as a standard move with some additional packing requirementsMs*** did not disclose the threelarge glass cabinets that would most likely require special handling Our moving team arrived with packing materials sufficient for a standard pack and move, including supplies and equipment necessary to protect standard furniture items and to pack a moderate amount of cartons. We were not prepared to move large glass cabinets and could not safely do so with serious risk to the items and our employees Ms*** contracted for local moving services on an hourly basis1st Class agreed to provide standard packing and moving services on an hourly basis1st Class did not discuss or agree to move specific inventory items, including the three undisclosed glass display cases. The Packing Charges’ portion of Ms***’s estimate described the packing services available and disclosed the following “1st Class Moving, reserves the right to refuse loading any items if we determine the aforementioned items have not been properly packed by the owner”1st Class did not agreed to move specific items, and had disclosed to Ms*** that they could decline loading of certain items, which in this case included the three display cabinets. Ms*** received the hourly moving services she ordered and signed the bill of lading acknowledging that all services ordered had been provided and fully satisfied. 1st Class never committed to moving a specific inventory including the three large glass cabinets We respectfully deny that Ms*** was treated poorlyAll the services Ms*** contracted for were provided fullThank you

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/02/20) */
First, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience that the customer may have experienced during their moveit is never our intention for our customers to be less than satisfied with our services
Original Estimate: When
creating an estimate we are completely dependent upon the customer to supply complete and accurate information pertaining to their inventory list and their request for servicesIt is not a "contract" as the customer statesIt clearly says that it is an estimate only and the price is correct based upon the information listed on the
EstimateFurther, it says that should there be additional items or services required to complete the move, or any change;
in the order for the move at all, that it will result in a change in the priceThe terms are clearly printed on the original estimate and they were agreed upon by the customer to which their signature attests
Over the Phone Measurements: Moving companies use special software which lists the standard size of most household goodsThese estimated standard sizes are based upon a standard weight guide provided by the American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA)This guide is used by all moving companies to calculate the weight/sizeShould the customer have a larger sized item they must tell the estimator so that they can allow extra space for these large itemsFor example, when a customer tells an estimator that they have a desk, a queen size bed, and a seat sofa the estimator chooses these items from the inventory list on the software and it calculates the weight/sizeHowever, when the desk is the size of a large hutch or bureau and the sofa is a piece sectional; that will increase the space requirements inside
the tractor trailer
Increase in Price: The customer was not overchargedThey did not pay Smore than the original estimated price
Increase Items: Upon arrival to the origin the customer requested an estimate for pieces which calculated to total cu ftThe customer had additional pieces (now totaling pieces) which resulted in an additional cu ft which now made the total required space for this move to be reserved in the tractor trailer cu ft`
Additional Services: Also at the origin the movers-discovered they had to Utilize the elevator or stairs, both of these services are considered to be accessorial services which are offered upon request by the customer and additional fees will be added to the price of the moveThe customer wanted to proceed with their move and ordered the elevator serviceThey signed verifying that they are ordering this service both on the Revised Estimate and the Bill of Lading
Fuel Surcharge: It clearly says on the original estimate there will be a 12% fuel surcharge which will be added to the price of the moveThis charge will be calculated using 12% of the price or the space required to transport the shipment
Packing: Packing was required for the safe and secure transport of the customer's shipmentOn the revised estimate v signed and agreed Upon by the customer it was estimated that packing would be $However, the customer was only actually charged $total for their packing and materials
The difference between the estimated price and the actual price is $NUT as claimed in the complaint by the customerAgain, all charges were agreed upon before the loading of the goods to which the customer's signature attests
Shuttle: Every service, every charge, every payment is listed on the bill of ladingThere is not any mention of the requirement for a shuttle anywhere to complete this move nor is there a charge for a shuttle reflected on any of the shipping documents15: Class Moving did not charge this customer for this service as the customer complainsHowever, should the customer still feel they were overcharged they may file a claim with our 3rd party claims company, CSIWe have contacted our 3rd party claims company Claims Service International, CSI and provided the information necessary to initiate the claims process for the customerThe customer was assigned a unique claim id number of ***
The customer was emailed CSI's Contact information, the link to register to file a claim, as well as information of how to file a claim on 2/20/The claim filing information sent to the customer allows for filing claim for loss, damage, delay,
federal regulations
Should the customer require assistance with the filing of their claim they may Contact CSI directly Monday through , Friday 9:amto 5:p.m(EST) at *** or via email at Info@CS Pros.org
We regret that the customer felt the need to file a complaint with the Revdex.comWe trust that the above explanation helps them to better understand our position on this matter
Final Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2014/02/20) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept the explanation from the companyThe computer soft did estimate the priceHowever, the company invalidated the estimated price and directly broke the contract without convinced reasonThere is no evidence showing the size and weight over-sized and over-weighed the reported onesRegarding to some explanations, I do not think what the company stated is true
First, I do not have big stuffs that are different from the regular size measurementsFor the examples of Sofa and desk the company listed, I would like to show what they look like in my homeI have never bought a Seat regular sofaWhat I have is a fordable Futon bought from Walmart.com (product number is ***)It has only piece sectional and has been completely folded for moving itThe size is 38" x 70" (http://www.walmart.com) which is even smaller than the regular sofa bed whose size is from 52"x72" to 58"x72" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sofa_bed)Importantly, it has been reported to the company before I signed the contractIt should not be considered as the overcharged partRegarding to the desk, it was bought from IKEA (Article number ***)The desk itself weighs only pound and size of 29"X2"x47" (http://www.Ikea.com) which is an average size and underweighted one comparing to the regular desks (generally starting from pounds pounds)The legs have been dissembled before the movingIt should not take spaceImportantly, it has been reported to the company before I signed the contractIt should not be considered as the overcharged part
Secondly, for the increase of price, the $overcharged money includes both over estimated size/weight for furniture and additional transportation fee that company charged meThey overcharged me twiceThe first time is before moving the stuffs on to the truckThe second time is after arriving but before moving the stuffs to my new homeAfter the truck arrived in my new place, they said my stuffs were transferred to a small truck so they need to charge me more money due to this transferWithout paying the additional transportation fee, they refused to move my stuffsThe transferring is only needed when the truck cannot pull into the city and it has no room to park the truckActually, I think the company uses a Metro's to inches truck which has no problem to get into the city and park at my guess parking lots if I am correctlyIt is not meaningful to transfer my stuffsRegarding to the additional pieces the company saidI did count when it is loaded to the truckI may have or small boxes moreI do not think over pieces are the correct number
Thirdly, additional services: I have paid the elevator price I should have paidThey have been reported to the company before I signed the contractIt should be clearly stated on the signed contractThey should already been in the estimated price
Lastly, material using: they refused to move my stuffs without using their materialsI called the manager to complain thisI was told it is for the protection of my stuffsSo, I have to pay $which is exactly what I need to pay, even I think they charge every experience on these materials
Business Response /* (4000, 16, 2014/03/20) */
This is in response to the complaint that was filed in your office, first the customer was given a binding estimate as clearly indicated in their name, whether based in cubic feet, weight or linear feet, are binding on both the customer and the companySuch estimates if based on weight do not require weight tickets since they are bindingThe only way to change a binding estimate is to write a revised binding estimate that automatically cancels out any previously given binding estimateThe revising of an estimate must be due to a change of order which results in a change of chargesWeighing shipments and adjusting the prices accordingly is only an option with a non binding estimate, with this being said we will now address the customer's complaint that there was not an increase in inventory, when indeed the customer had a change in inventory at the time of pick upThe customer had additional items which resulted in the additional CuFtOur crew is not in position to assume all items are to be moved especially if the list on the original binding estimate they have in hand is substantially differentThey will start off by loading the items they were able to identify from their list, unless they were informed by the customer that they have a change of order and will need more items to be loadedAt that point, the movers will cease from loading and will issue a revised estimate to include the additional items now required to be movedThe estimate provided to the customer was an over the phone estimate and not an onsite one which automatically makes us dependant on the information that the customer provides to the company and our company use special software which lists the standard size of most household goodsThese estimated standard sizes are based upon a standard weight guide provided by the American Moving & Storage Association (AMSA)This guide is used by all moving companies to calculate the weight/sizeShould the customer have a larger sized item they must tell the estimator so that they can allow extra space for these large itemsFor example, when a customer tells an estimator that they have a desk, a queen size bed, and a seat sofa the estimator chooses these items from the inventory list on the software and it calculates the weight/size we are using this as an example onlyAs stated in the previous response in regards to a shuttle service being used every service, every charge, every payment is listed on the bill of ladingThere is not any mention of the requirement for a shuttle anywhere to complete this move nor is there a charge for a shuttle reflected on any of the shipping documentsOur company did not charge this customer for this service as the customer complainsHowever, should the customer still feel they were overcharged they may file a claim with our 3rd party claims company, CSIWe have contacted our 3rd party claims company Claims Service International, CSI and provided the information necessary to initiate the claims process for the customerThe customer was assigned a unique claim id number of Additional Services: Also at the origin the movers-discovered they had to utilize the elevator or stairs, both of these services are considered to be accessorial services which are offered upon request by the customer and additional fees will be added to the price of the moveThe customer wanted to proceed with their move and ordered the elevator serviceThey signed verifying that they are ordering this service both on the Revised Estimate and the Bill of Lading
We regret that the customer still feels that it is necessary to file a Revdex.com compliant but again we trust that the above explanation enables them to better understand our position in this matter
Consumer Response /* (3000, 18, 2014/03/26) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The company is a liarThey did not weight anything but just said it is overweightFor what they explained --- "There is not any mention of the requirement for a shuttle anywhere to complete this move nor is there a charge for a shuttle reflected on any of the shipping documentsOur company did not charge this customer for this service as the customer complains." This is totally liaringWhat they actually did was asking me to pay the money to unload my furniture because they said their truck cannot get in the cityI have pay additional $cash for transferring them to a small truckIf not, they will ship my staffs to the storageIn that case, they said they will charge me $more based on the contractI asked for the receipt, they said they will give me one after the loadingHowever, a liar againNo any receipt for my cash paymentThis black company should not be in the business any moreDo not want to waste my time to argue more about itI will definitely go to Claims Service International or other way to fight on this
Business Response /* (4000, 20, 2014/04/07) */
We would like to apologize for our previous responses and misinformation from our officeHowever, we would like to provide the breakdown so that the customer is able to better understand the reasons for the increase and see it was not in mal intention or deception
Charges Breakdown: On the customer's original estimate, the customer was quoted for CuFtX $per CuFt., % fuel charge of $228.11, elevator fee of $100.00, summer savings coupon -$= $2,At the pickup the customer was requesting to ship an additional items totaling an additional CuFtThis would mean that the customer would be charged an additional CuFtX $per CuFt= $Per federal regulations any additional items and services requested which were not included in the original estimate and may result in additional charges require that the movers provide a revised binding estimate which automatically cancels any previous given estimatesThe customer was provided a revised binding estimate which listed the additional items and all charges included prior to the loading of their goods to which their signature attests
Shuttle Service: Our records show there was no shuttle service provided for the customer, we request that if the customer has evidence such as a receipt for the shuttle service to please send a copy to our third party claims company CSI to allow a full investigation of the charges and compensation if due will be offered based upon our legal liability
We again apologize for the misinformation in our previous response and hope that our above explanation helps the customer to better understand our position in this matter

Thank you for forwarding this consumers complaint to our attention. We would like to offer the following response: Ms*** was provided with a moving estimate in good faith based upon information provided to the moving consultant. Start times are set based upon scheduling demands and
are not guaranteedIn the present case an earlier delay caused a ripple effect which resulted in a later start time for Ms*** Despite the later than anticipated arrival, the moving team provided all services contracted forMs*** was invoiced for the labor, travel time and materials provided by the carrierPer the terms of the contract, payment for services is required in full prior to unloading We regret that items may have sustained some damage during the move1st Class Moving has an established claim process in place to assist our customersMs*** should visit our claim administrator’s website (www.mymoveclaim.com) for information on submitting a claim. Mr***’s contracted for local moving services which were provided in fullMs***’s charges reflect the services utilized and are consistent with the estimate and our tariff Ms*** is welcome to submit a claim for damages and/or service issuesThank you

Thank you for forwarding this consumers complaint to our attention. We offer the following response: Ms*** contracted for local moving services on an hourly rate which were provided in full Ms*** was provided with an estimate in good faith based upon information
she providedMs*** did not disclose the inventory would include three very large glass display cabinetsHad Ms*** let us know about these cabinets, we would have been prepared with the materials and equipment necessary to safely transport these itemsThe ‘Hourly Rate and Cost’ portion of the moving estimate explains that “If you have not provided us with an inventory of items this estimate will provide minimum charge information onlyFor a more accurate quote please feel free to contact 1st Class Moving and provide your relocation consultant with details regarding your move.” Ms*** did not provide an inventory or notify us of the three large glass display cases needing to be moved On the date of service our team was prepared for a large studio described by Ms*** but did not have the materials necessary to prepare and transport the cabinets. Our team proceeded to move the rest of the inventory but were unable to reschedule another move because of an already fully booked schedule The agreement was for hourly moving services, and 1st Class did not agree to move specific inventory items, including the three undisclosed glass display cases. We respectfully deny that we do not care about our customersMs*** received the hourly moving services she ordered and signed the bill of lading acknowledging that all services ordered had been provided and fully satisfied. We are happy to work with Ms*** on future moves however she will have to pay for those servicesAs we provided all the services contracted for, Ms*** is not eligible for or entitled to a refundThank you

Thank you for forwarding this consumers rebuttal1st Class Movers delivered Ms*** shipment in apparent good conditionThe shipment including the TV was stored for a period in a residence and then moved again by another moving company
Despite the faith placed in the other moving company, Ms*** was obviously not able to monitor the TV during the entire move and most likely did not verify whether the TV was properly secured in the truck or that nothing shifted against it during transitWe certainly will have no opportunity to verify the quality of their service, or whether some accident may have occurred while it was in storage
We regret that Ms***-groves’ TV was damaged but it is not unreasonable to believe the TV could just as easily have been damaged during the second move or while in storageIn the absence of anything showing the TV was damaged while in the care of 1st Class Movers, we are unable to accept liability for this item
We have asked our claim administrator to email claim forms to Ms*** so that she may submit her claimThank you

I am rejecting this response because:Please see attachment for the response. Thank you

I am rejecting this response because: When I received the estimate, I told the customer service rep Jane there would be  packing to be done. I told her it was a large 1 bedroom apartment full of items, I had mentioned there would be more items in the apartment then an average apartment.  Jane never mentioned they needed a list of the items in the apartment. The only thing she disclosed was the cost of the boxes and packing materials and  they would bring some to complete the move.  I was under the impression since they are a moving company they would come prepared.  I told them there was packing to be done. I don't believe this is my error, when I received the estimate I told them the  information, and I was never asked what items were in the apartment. If people are doing estimates, they should be asking questions about what items the movers will be moving so they do come prepared and the estimates are more accurate. On 6/24/17 the day of the move, I left several messages for a supervisor to call me so we could get this resolved before the movers left the location. I signed the bill of lading because I felt I had no other option, I anticipated that a supervisor would call me and want to solve the issue. The supervisor or company never called me back. I called and  spoke to Jane on 6/26/17 and she promised her supervisor would call  me back, she also stated he would call me at noon so we could set up a time that day for the movers to move the remaining items. The supervisor never called me back and arrangements we never made.  I continued to call 1st class moving daily at least 4 times a day to get this resolved, I gave up because I knew the supervisor was not going to call me back or assist me anyway. I was treated very poorly by this company, the only thing they were interested in was my money. I don't believe I am entirely at fault, the company should've asked about the items they were packing so they could have completed  the job.

Thank you for forwarding this consumers complaint to our attention.  We would like to offer the following response: Ms. [redacted] made a reservation by phone to have her shipment collected from a local auction facility. credit card was declined and despite our attempts to collect payment, and numerous promises to send payment, Ms. [redacted] has yet to pay the original line haul charges or the storage fees accrued since the shipment was collected almost two years ago.   We strongly deny and question Ms. [redacted]’s assertion that she was unable to reach out office during the two year period, in fact out records show that Ms. [redacted] disappeared for almost one year during which we were unable to contact her regarding her shipment.  At this time Ms. [redacted] has an outstanding balance of $5082 for the original line haul, storage and associated fees. The shipment was not auctioned and is currently in our storage terminal. Ms. [redacted] may pay her balance due and arrangements will be made to promptly deliver her shipment. If payment on the account is made within the next 14 days we will discount the balance due by $1000. If Ms. [redacted] fails to contact us to make arrangements to settle her account, we will be forced to initiate auction proceedings as allowed by our tariff, and applicable state and federal law.   Ms. [redacted] contracted for long distance moving services but has not paid for those services or for storage fees accrued over the last two years. The shipment is currently in storage in our storage terminal. Ms. [redacted] should contact our office to make immediate arrangements to pay her balance due. Thank you.

This company was extremely difficult to work with not to mention the fact that they misled me when they quoted the price of my move. They said the cost would be $375 for three hours. I asked Zaki numerous times what the added cost would be and he said he was certain that the cost would be what he quoted. I kept saying are you sure that will be the total cost. Well, I ended up paying double that amount because it took five hours to complete the job instead of the three promised hours. The company didn't even complete the job I couldn't afford any further time added. I ended up moving the rest of my stuff mysel Was a hardship for me The two movers told me that the company tells others as well that the job will take three hours when in fact it takes well over that amount. The company never told me that they charge 3% when using a credit card. The movers didn't charge me for it because the company never told me about this at the time of the quote.
