Final Consumer Response / [redacted] (2000, 6, 2015/07/27) */ Discussed with the business today afternoon on the claim and they have responded well I am satisfied with the response and this can be closed
Thank you for forwarding this consumers complaint to our attention We offer the following response: Ms [redacted] - [redacted] contracted for interstate moving services which were provided in full The shipment was delivered to Ms [redacted] at a self storage facility after which Ms [redacted] contracted with another moving company to transport the items to her residence Ms [redacted] was advised delivery could take up to business days from the 1st date a customer can receive delivery1st Class Moving does its best to deliver as quickly and efficiently as possible however sometimes scheduling is disrupted due to mechanical breakdowns, weather, shipper availability, etcAny estimates on delivery were provided in good faith based upon the best information available at that timeWe regret the shipment did not arrive sooner but Ms [redacted] received her delivery within the time frame stipulated on the contractAs delivery drivers are often on the road for weeks at a time some choose to travel with spouses or significant others1st Class Moving does not see that as unprofessional and is happy to accommodate their drivers as long as it does affect the quality of service Our moving team provided professional packing services for a few items including a flat screen TVThe Inventory List, in close proximity to Ms [redacted] signature advises customers: “Before signing check shipment, count items & describe loss or damage on the right above”There are no indications on the Inventory List suggesting the TV had arrived damaged If Ms [redacted] had documented damage to the TV prior to it being moved by another moving company, she would have been eligible for coverage despite not documenting the damage at deliveryAs the TV was moved by another party before the damaged was discovered and documented, 1st Class Moving cannot verify it caused the damage and therefore is not liable for the damage claimed We strongly deny Ms [redacted] suggestion that 1st Class Moving or its agents opened or sorted through her boxes and not the absence of evidence including notations on the Inventory List supporting this unfounded accusation Ms [redacted] contracted for moving services which were provided in fullThe TV was delivered to Ms [redacted] in apparent good condition and was then moved again by another party prior to discovering the damageThere is nothing showing the TV was not received in good condition and we believe it was very likely damaged by the other carrierThank you
I am rejecting this response because: When I received the estimate, I told the customer service rep Jane there would be packing to be doneI told her it was a large bedroom apartment full of items, I had mentioned there would be more items in the apartment then an average apartment Jane never mentioned they needed a list of the items in the apartmentThe only thing she disclosed was the cost of the boxes and packing materials and they would bring some to complete the move I was under the impression since they are a moving company they would come prepared I told them there was packing to be doneI don't believe this is my error, when I received the estimate I told them the information, and I was never asked what items were in the apartmentIf people are doing estimates, they should be asking questions about what items the movers will be moving so they do come prepared and the estimates are more accurateOn 6/24/the day of the move, I left several messages for a supervisor to call me so we could get this resolved before the movers left the locationI signed the bill of lading because I felt I had no other option, I anticipated that a supervisor would call me and want to solve the issueThe supervisor or company never called me backI called and spoke to Jane on 6/26/and she promised her supervisor would call me back, she also stated he would call me at noon so we could set up a time that day for the movers to move the remaining itemsThe supervisor never called me back and arrangements we never made I continued to call 1st class moving daily at least times a day to get this resolved, I gave up because I knew the supervisor was not going to call me back or assist me anywayI was treated very poorly by this company, the only thing they were interested in was my moneyI don't believe I am entirely at fault, the company should've asked about the items they were packing so they could have completed the job
Customer signed on a contract that guaranty standard delivery up to business days from the 1st day that the customer ready ( 07/10/2017),current delivery date is scheduled for the 08/01/2017, that is business days.we are sorry for any inconvenience
Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 8, 2014/09/17) */ Thank you for forwarding this complaint to our attentionWe would like to offer the following responseThe estimate Ms [redacted] received indicated that the delivery time frame could take up to business days from the 1st date Ms*** was available to receive shipmentMs [redacted] indicated August as the first date she would be available to receive delivery of her shipmentAny information provided to Ms [redacted] regarding expected delivery dates was provided in good faith based upon the information available at the time and was not guaranteedOur records show Ms [redacted] received delivery of her shipment on September 1, 2014, before Ms [redacted] submitted her initial complaint to the Revdex.com, and well within the stipulated business day window The Payment Terms section of Ms***'s signed estimate disclosed that payments made by Credit Card would be assessed a security fee of 3% on the amount charged to the cardAs carriers incur significant expense in collecting and transporting a shipment, it is not unreasonable for them to verify a check will be honored prior to shipping the belongings The estimate further disclosed that payment of the final balances was required prior to unloading, a common and accepted industry practice, as evidenced by the US DOT's, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration booklet Your Rights & Responsibilities When You Move, wherein it is written: "The regulations provide that when your mover arrives at the destination, the mover may collect the charges due before the shipment is unloaded from the truck." We fail to understand why Ms [redacted] considers paying a driver who then documents that payment on the contract to be suspiciousMsThorp was aware of the payment terms prior to contracting for service The Bill of Lading is typically signed at the time the balance is paid and the shipment is ready for unloadingThe shipper has the opportunity to document damaged and or missing items on the Inventory after the items are unloadedMs***'s shipment was not large and was being placed directly into a storage unit so a man delivery team was sufficient to unload the shipmentThe carrier will work directly with the storage facility to address any damage that may have been caused when the carrier exited the facility We regret that Ms [redacted] was unhappy with her service however, she was aware of the payment terms prior to choosing our service, the carrier followed established procedures allowed by tariff and federal law with regards to payment collection and processing and Ms [redacted] received delivery within the time frame stated on the estimateThank you Final Consumer Response / [redacted] (4200, 6, 2014/09/09) */ Hi [redacted] , Since I last emailed you, things didn't get much betterThe men driving the truck needed correct driving instructions from me; didn't leave MSP, for an 7.5-hour drive until nearly 11am; they wanted me to sign a delivery slip verifying everything was there and in good condition, BEFORE unloading, which I declined and check items off as they were unloaded; they didn't pack the storage area properly as to lend to the most efficient use of space so I redirected them; only men were sent to unload and unpack moving blankets etcfor a job that men originally packed and then it started lightening and thundering so my sister, brother and laws and I ended up helping finish the unloading Then, to top it off, the truck hit the left side of the security gate knocking it off its foundation and then started to drive awayAt this point, its raining and lightening but I blinked my lights and honked, finally getting out of my car in the rain and ran to the driver's sideHis response when I told him what he'd done was "well it's raining what do you want me to do" I told him he can't just drive off we need to leave some information for the owners of the storage facilityHe then told me to give him the number and he call them, (the owners), I didn't and told him I would contact them and ***, their boss, at which point he drove offBy this time its nearly 10p and as I'm sitting in my car writing information and calling [redacted] to inform him of what happened, someone bangs on my car window, it's "**", the driver wanting the contact information, I told him I was talking to [redacted] and that I told [redacted] I would leave 1st Class Moving's information with the storage owners [redacted] appeared very impatient with me responding "fine, call ***, I'll call [redacted] too!" I left the information with the storage facility so hopefully they've gotten something worked out I am also sending this information to the Minnesota Atty Genoffice along with the added information that 1st Class Moving requires 70% payment on the bill total which an be paid by check BUT they won't schedule the move until the check clears or you can pay by cc but 1st CM will charge you 3% on the paid amount (double what most cc companies charge) or you can pay cashThen, when they arrive to unload your belongings they require the remaining balance to be paid before they will unloadYou can pay only ways, USPS check or cashI believe this is suspicious, especially the cash exchange, you just hand it to the driver and he sign's it was paidI've never dealt with a business on these terms and hopefully never again Thank you so much for your assistance, hopefully others will learn from my experience [redacted]
