I certainly believe we accomplished this with the completed project for this family. Review: We contacted this business to landscape our yard in May 2014. Business owner [redacted] came out to evaluate yard and provided us an invoice ($2775). We weren't quite ready to get started so waited a few months. [redacted] came out a second time and gave us a new invoice ($2955), which we agreed to (increase $180). When the final check was written, both [redacted] nor my husband (who wrote the check)did not have the invoice with them. [redacted] "guessed" at the additional amount owed. It was the second half of the payment (should have been $1455). The check was written for $1475. I noticed the error that day and contact [redacted] to let him know that there was an additional $20 paid to him. I thought he would respond with a quick "oh I am sorry, I will get that back to you shortly." But instead, he did not respond for several days. I let him know that I did not appreciate that he hadn't responded to correct the error. He then contacted me saying there was an "extra fee" but he decided to cut it in half for me and charge me $20. And, he said he told me husband this. I asked my husband about this and he let me know what [redacted] has never mentioned this. The invoices also clearly state "Quote subject to change only with signed authorization of a change order by cus[redacted]er and contractor." I brought this to his attention and was then told that he would mail me the additional $20 and to refrain from ever contacting him in any form again. Was told on 8.5.14 that he would mail itSent him a message on 8.26.14 letting him know we had not received it. He did not respond.9.29.14- still have not received the checkDesired Settlement: I am looking for the error to be corrected (the $20 to be returned to us in the next 30 days).
