Aug4, To Whom It May Concern
This is a complaint against First Classic Dentist, DrOmaima S***, DDS
I had to get new lower dentures because I had a partial plate that anchored on the bottom “eye teeth”, I lost one due to gum disease, the other had to be pulled because of cavity around April, I made an appointment with First Classic Dentist I only wanted the lower dentures, but DrS*** insisted that I needed new upper dentures also, in order to get a proper fit and my upper dentures were very old However, I was happy with them, the dentist that made them years ago did an excellent job And I told DrS*** that I really liked them and didn’t want to go through getting new dentures that may not be as excellent looking and fitting as they are She assured me I would like the new ones they made So I agreed to upper and lower dentures I thought that she would make the new upper dentures as much like my old ones as possible since I told her how well I liked the old ones That didn’t happen howeverIt didn’t take too many visits to the office to see that there was a lot of conflict between her and her staff She complained about them to me, had very little patience or respect for them Her behavior was very unprofessionalWe got through the impressions, and then the appointment to check the wax teethAt that time I told the dentist they were way too loose I was told we were just checking the appearance of the teeth, not the fit But when the dentures were finished and still just as loose, she was angry about that and she reminded me that I signed the form accepting them, even though she had assured me that was signing acceptance of appearance But she did adjust them, begrudginglyI am not a trained dentist and I didn’t know exactly what to look for when checking the wax teeth Does anyone? And it seems very unfair to be made to sign a form to accept them when you haven’t actually tried them in daily use There is no way to know if the bite is right until you eat something and I didn’t notice other problems with them until I actually wore them a few days However, I did see that the “bite” was not proper The front teeth barely met the lower teeth and they were not in front of the lower teeth like they are suppose to be DrS*** argued that they aren’t suppose to be like that, even though I showed her my old dentures were that way The lab tech did adjust them some so that the top dentures came down a little farther but the bite still wasn’t right It made me lisp when I talked and I could hardly eat with them that wayI tried to give it some time thinking I would get use to the dentures, plus I hate to be a problem and have to insist on them being made over But the upper dentures were just not right The lower dentures were not right either…the lab tech put the teeth in slanted sideways Very poor workmanship! He did some adjustment and they looked a little better, not great but not too noticeable The front teeth were not curved following the gum line, which is why they were not in front of the lower teeth for the bite, but what I didn’t notice right away, since we don’t see ourselves at side view that much, without the curve, my upper lip was sunk in and it looked like I had an underbite! So I did finally go in and insist that they be made over again I tried to be nice and as tactful as I could, but firm Of course, she was not happy with that, but knew she had to make them right From then on she was so rude to me! She accused me again that I had not communicated good enough with her She asked me if I wanted the new dentures exactly like my old ones and I said, yes I did! So she replied I should have told her that! As I told her from the beginning, I was very pleased with my old ones and did not even want new upper dentures I thought she understood that I did tell her, however, I didn’t want the teeth themselves to be identical because I did like the shape and size of the ones I had picked out for the new upper dentures I didn’t mention the bite would need to be adjusted to match the new lower dentures which I would have thought they would’ve known that So I didn’t take any chance since DrS*** told me over and over that I didn’t communicate properly, and I emailed her a few days later so I would have that in writing I know I communicated very well Her behavior to her staff continued to be annoying also and she kept complaining to me about them till I finally told her that it was between her and them and had nothing to do with what I needed or wanted to hear!
When I went to the dentist to check wax dentures for the remake, they weren't right, so I told the DrS*** what needed to be changed It wasn't a real big adjustment, the front teeth just needed to be curved more so I didn’t have an underbite She was upset that they had to be changed She started to argue that they didn’t need changed, but just raised her hands and told the lab tech to do whatever I wanted, sarcasticallyThe lab tech made the change and I thought they looked better and asked the doctor and lab tech for they opinion I thought dental training would also include training regarding the cosmetic importance She refused to give an opinion and said it was up to me I mentioned that I thought they were suppose to be the experts! She just shrugged and left the room to give me more time to check the wax dentures I have never been treated so rudely and it upset me so that I was almost in tearsI told the lab tech I was so upset I was shaking and it was hard to check the wax dentures being so distressed She hurried back into the room and told me I WAS NOT to talk to her help at all! She told me that several times, not to discuss any of my concerns with her “help”I was not to talk to the lab technician because she said so many times, he doesn’t speak good English and she had to tell him what needed done in “their” language I don’t know how many times she told me she communicated very good, that the problem was with MY communication…yet so many things happened that showed her communication is horrible, especially the “listening” part of communication Perhaps she doesn’t understand English very well either At any rate, that is a big problem at this officeI tried very hard to check the wax dentures out, but it is just not possible to tell in my opinion, especially when I was treated so rudely and very distressed, but I told her I thought they were acceptable, she glared at me and told to be VERY sure because she would not make them over again if they weren't right! I told her NOT to threaten meThe wax dentures were very loose, just as they were on the first set, so I mentioned it and again she said I was signing acceptance of the appearance onlySince she said that same thing the first time but then threw it up to me that I had signed the acceptance of the 1st one, I reminded her that she contradicts herself! So signed the acceptance and I added my own note that I accepted the appearance, but that they were loose Of course She didn't like that I then asked for a copy of what I signed and she refused to give me a copy! I believe that is illegal also! She said I could a copy once the dentures were finished Which she never did give to me!
I was dreading going to the office to get the remade finished dentures, so I asked a friend to go with me I was so glad I did, DrS*** was on her good behavior since I had someone with me Noticeably, not sincere, but at least I wasn’t treated so rudelySadly, the remake of the upper dentures is not correct They still make it look like I have an underbite and other things not right They do not look at all like the wax dentures along with being terribly uncomfortable I can hardly eat with them I accepted the lower dentures even though they were not quite right, but perhaps it is the lower dentures causing the underbite I truly felt bad about insisting on the uppers being remade and was willing to accept the not quite right lowers to cut their lossI don’t think this office is capable of making proper dentures, not to mention the horrible way I was treated! Even though DrS*** threatened that she would not make them over again, I know she would have to if I insisted, but I have no confidence that they could ever get them right and I can’t subject myself to DrS***’s RUDE behavior again I’m not sure what my recourse is, but a total refund should be made to the Insurance Company so I can go to a good dentist for acceptable dentures But the at least, this can be a warning to others Thank youSincerely,

To Whom It May Concern
This is a complaint against First Classic Dentist, Dr. Omaima S[redacted], DDS
I had to get new lower dentures because I had a partial plate that anchored on the 2 bottom “eye teeth”, I lost one due to gum disease, the other had to be pulled because of cavity around April, 2015. I made an appointment with First Classic Dentist. I only wanted the lower dentures, but Dr. S[redacted] insisted that I needed new upper dentures also, in order to get a proper fit and my upper dentures were very old. However, I was happy with them, the dentist that made them years ago did an excellent job. And I told Dr. S[redacted] that I really liked them and didn’t want to go through getting new dentures that may not be as excellent looking and fitting as they are. She assured me I would like the new ones they made. So I agreed to upper and lower dentures. I thought that she would make the new upper dentures as much like my old ones as possible since I told her how well I liked the old ones. That didn’t happen however.
It didn’t take too many visits to the office to see that there was a lot of conflict between her and her staff. She complained about them to me, had very little patience or respect for them. Her behavior was very unprofessional.
We got through the impressions, and then the appointment to check the wax teeth. At that time I told the dentist they were way too loose. I was told we were just checking the appearance of the teeth, not the fit. But when the dentures were finished and still just as loose, she was angry about that and she reminded me that I signed the form accepting them, even though she had assured me that was signing acceptance of appearance. But she did adjust them, begrudgingly.
I am not a trained dentist and I didn’t know exactly what to look for when checking the wax teeth. Does anyone? And it seems very unfair to be made to sign a form to accept them when you haven’t actually tried them in daily use. There is no way to know if the bite is right until you eat something and I didn’t notice other problems with them until I actually wore them a few days. However, I did see that the “bite” was not proper. The front teeth barely met the lower teeth and they were not in front of the lower teeth like they are suppose to be. Dr. S[redacted] argued that they aren’t suppose to be like that, even though I showed her my old dentures were that way. The lab tech did adjust them some so that the top dentures came down a little farther but the bite still wasn’t right. It made me lisp when I talked and I could hardly eat with them that way.
I tried to give it some time thinking I would get use to the dentures, plus I hate to be a problem and have to insist on them being made over. But the upper dentures were just not right. So I didn’t take any chance since Dr. S[redacted] told me over and over that I didn’t communicate properly, and I emailed her a few days later so I would have that in writing. I know I communicated very well .
Her behavior to her staff continued to be annoying also and she kept complaining to me about them till I finally told her that it was between her and them and had nothing to do with what I needed or wanted to hear!
When I went to the dentist to check wax dentures for the remake, they weren't right, so I told the Dr. S[redacted] what needed to be changed. It wasn't a real big adjustment, the front teeth just needed to be curved more so I didn’t have an underbite. She was upset that they had to be changed. She started to argue that they didn’t need changed, but just raised her hands and told the lab tech to do whatever I wanted, sarcastically.
The lab tech made the change and I thought they looked better and asked the doctor and lab tech for they opinion. I thought dental training would also include training regarding the cosmetic importance. She refused to give an opinion and said it was up to me. I mentioned that I thought they were suppose to be the experts! She just shrugged and left the room to give me more time to check the wax dentures I have never been treated so rudely and it upset me so that I was almost in tears. I was not to talk to the lab technician because she said so many times, he doesn’t speak good English and she had to tell him what needed done in “their” language. I don’t know how many times she told me she communicated very good, that the problem was with MY communication…yet so many things happened that showed her communication is horrible, especially the “listening” part of communication. Perhaps she doesn’t understand English very well either. At any rate, that is a big problem at this office.
I tried very hard to check the wax dentures out, but it is just not possible to tell in my opinion, especially when I was treated so rudely and very distressed, but I told her I thought they were acceptable, she glared at me and told to be VERY sure because she would not make them over again if they weren't right! I then asked for a copy of what I signed and she refused to give me a copy! I believe that is illegal also! She said I could a copy once the dentures were finished. Which she never did give to me!
I was dreading going to the office to get the remade finished dentures, so I asked a friend to go with me. I was so glad I did, Dr. S[redacted] was on her good behavior since I had someone with me. Noticeably, not sincere, but at least I wasn’t treated so rudely.
Sadly, the remake of the upper dentures is not correct . They still make it look like I have an underbite and other things not right. They do not look at all like the wax dentures along with being terribly uncomfortable. I can hardly eat with them. I accepted the lower dentures even though they were not quite right, but perhaps it is the lower dentures causing the underbite. I truly felt bad about insisting on the uppers being remade and was willing to accept the not quite right lowers to cut their loss.
I don’t think this office is capable of making proper dentures, not to mention the horrible way I was treated! Even though Dr. S[redacted] threatened that she would not make them over again, I know she would have to if I insisted, but I have no confidence that they could ever get them right and I can’t subject myself to Dr. S[redacted]’s RUDE behavior again. I’m not sure what my recourse is, but a total refund should be made to the Insurance Company so I can go to a good dentist for acceptable dentures. But the at least, this can be a warning to others. Thank you.
