Review: I am a [redacted] Immigrant who lived in Virginia state past 12 years, I have been out of job for so long that I needed a job so bad. I saw this ad (Armed Truck Driver) on [redacted] so I decided to give it a try. I called the number from the ad and made a appointment on 2013-08-** at 11am located on ([redacted]),

When I got there a lady told me to fill out a application form and later I got call to sit down with a guy (They never give me their names) who is later gonna interview with 3 of us at the same time. At the beginning of the interview he was explaining how I can make more money than other 2 guys who also got interviewed at the same time because I have a Commercial Driver's License with class A and P endorsement. But in order for me to have the (Armed Truck Driver) job I have to get a gun permit where it requires $350 deposit for it.

Soon after he finished talking with us he kind of rush us to sign some forms where I thought it is gonna be more application for my gun permit. The same lady who told me to fill out a application form took me to a corner desk and she forced me to sign some forms while she claims I was filling out my infos so slow so she is gonna fill out the rest the forms for me.

After I signed all those forms and paid $350 went downstairs to go to the other location ([redacted]) to a ticket for my gun permit courses, I realized there is no their real names on the forms or on the business cards they gave me, and there are at least three different company names mentioned on those forms including "1st National Career Center, Security Group, Armed Division" and there is a charge of ($3499 - $350 I paid). so I went back to their office right away and ask the guy who took my money if it is ok to get my money back, he refused and told me come back tomorrow because those forms I just signed and money I gave them magically transferred to the other location already. That's how I really think I got scammed so I went downstairs and called 911.

Police officers came, But they told me they can't do anything about it because it was a civil matter and they got calls everyday for this location on people got scammed by this company. But they suggested me to contact Best Business Bureau and Department of Consumers Affairs ([redacted]) so I did.

Please help me! My family and I are struggling and we can't afford losing another $350 in cash and $3149 they are gonna bill me or sue me for it !? I went there hoping for a job and I trusted them for "helping" me. Now im sitting on the street sobbing while typing this complain and hoping you can do something about it. I need a miracle and my family needs it too. Please help us and take us seriously because you are our only hope now.

Excuse my English, I hope you can understand what I typed and if you need more detail infos about it please contact me via my phone and email.Desired Settlement: I just want to get my hard-earned money back and the unfair contract avoid. I also want all my identity documents back .

Review: I paid $100 up front to receive OSHA training for friday, October.**, 2014 at 4 pm. I was at the office by 3:45 pm, and waited until 6:30 p.m. until I was finally called into a private office by, "[redacted]" only to finally tell me that the trainer is not coming and we would have to re-schedule. As this is not what I paid for, I politely asked for a refund. She was very rude in telling me there are no refunds, after I had found out she had given other people in particular refunds. Also, the prices they were charging varied from person to person.Desired Settlement: All I would like is a refund of my $100 back, because I am not able to make the appointment for a day which I did not sign up to pay for.

Review: Went under the false pretense of a job interview, was asked to bring $130 dollars to cover cost of uniform, for a desk position in a government building. Upon arriving, they quickly asked for money upfront, and told me it was not for the uniform but "to cover registration charges". Was promised to have a secure job on the spot, and informed that I had to pay for more classes but was guaranteed a job in just a few days. Quickly made me sign paper without letting me read it first and then told me to come back and quickly rushed me out. When I looked online, saw a lot of complaints about this office, it being a scam. They took my information and SS card and made copies without telling me why, the paper they gave me upon reading the fine print actually says it will not guarantee a job and that they are just a job referral center and not an actually copy. I was lied to, and taken advantage and scammed out of money.Desired Settlement: $130

Review: Ive answered an add on craiglist stating that I can work on a construction site making $18.75 an hour so I called and spoke to [redacted] he scheduled for me to come in for an interview and bring a $100 deposit, I met with [redacted] today 9/**/13 and when we met he took the money and said that I have to come up with another $500 for a training course. I was really surprised by this because not once did he mention this on the phone. He indicated that I will be guaranteed making $19.00 an hour which should have been a red flag for me!! Because I was desperate for work I quickly handed over the $100 and called around for the other $500. After reading the complaints on Revdex.com and the fine prints on the "semi-contract" I've learned they do not guarantee employment as [redacted] has stated, he even said some people are working 72 hours in a three days, this is nothing but a scam and want my money back. I'm already in a hardship and I cant afford to be giving away any money thank goodness I read this website along with my wife and these issues were pointed out. This shouldn't be aloud to occur I thinks this is the worst thing folks can due to people who's looking to make a honest living.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back and would like the company to stop lying to people about guaranteed employment because this company can not and will not.

Review: I went in for an interview with them back in Nov. 2013 to become an armed security guard. The man who interview me was [redacted]. He told me I would make 40 dollars an hour but I had to pay for the training. The training cost $3499 which I thought was a bit much, but I though if I am making $40 an hour it shouldn't be a problem to make back. He gave me a bunch of paper work to sign which he rushed me through, and told me I needed to put down a deposit of $350 so that they can reserve a seat in the class for me. The problem was, was that I lived in Long Island and work full time and the training was in the city and started at 3:00pm which was the time I got off work. They told me to come back a bunch of times so that they could try to set me up with a weekend class which never happened. Every time I came in they asked for a deposit because it would speed up the process. I ended up giving them 2 more deposits of $350 which was a total of $1050. 4 months later they still haven't done anything for me and they never call me to let me know what is going on. 2 weeks ago I went in to ask for a refund but the person at the front desk that handles that paper work was not in and they told me to just call them Monday. I've called numerous times and the lady [redacted] that handles the paper work is never in. Today I spoke with [redacted] about my situation and she told me "you have to come in and fill out all the paper work." she then asked "how much did you deposit" and I told her "$1050," she then told me to "please hold." I waited about a minute and she came back on the line and told me "sorry but we don't do refunds."Desired Settlement: I want my full refund of $1050 considering I technically have paid for nothing. I understand that the Client Service Agreement states that all deposits and payments are applied towards a reservation for a seat in class and are non-refundable, but I have not been signed up to take any classes through them nor have they made any attempt to do so. I do not want anything to do with this company anymore and just want the refund. I know I'm not the first to complain about this company and I know I wont be the last.

She has been working with me to try and resolve my issue. She told me the best they can do is that 30 dollars is none refundable for administration fees, but I would receive 1020 dollars back. Review: I was told by a !st national career center employee [redacted] and also [redacted] the alleged [redacted] of the company I would receive osha training for a maintenance position. to my knowledge this is a training only for security guards. I was told that I would be put to work immediately after my training. I was also told to show up everyday to put some money in my pocket and work on accounts which I never did. I traveled to this location on three to four occasions and got nowhere. I finally got fed up and decided to film this low down operation with my cell phone without them knowing. Because those who commit this type of fraud rarely admit to it. I would gladly be willing to speak with someone about the money I lost and the shady practices that have gone on at this scam located at [redacted]. You can reach me betwteen the hours of 8am to 5pm. Thank You in advance an I hope you are able to assist me to avoid future consumers or job seekers the same mishap.Desired Settlement: What I paid

Review: I went onto [redacted] to find a job. I came across an add that was seeking employment. I had gotten a phone call from a [redacted] asking me to come in for an interview I had let her know be fore time that I was due for a security guard annual certificate. She then told me that her company would Handel it. So I went on for this interview and the guy looked like he was an honest man so I trusted he can get a job For me. He then asked me for 80 dollars for I guess an application fee of some sort and I gave it to him after all was said and done he told me I had to pay an extra 100 dollars for my annual I told him his assistant told me they would take care of it he then told me let's see what he can do about that because she was not supposed to tell me that he then came back in the room and told me to come in for the annual on a Thursday and he was going to confirm on Wednesday I waited for the call or email and I never received one or the other so I called again and he said what are u talking about your telling me u are still not working I said no you have not called me for my annual or to confirm anything he told me he was busy with bigger accounts but he would Handel it so he told me to come in again and I did this time he was telling me that I had to pay 50 dollars for the annual and he would pay the other 50 so he asked if I can do that and I told him I do not know because I am not working so he said u know what we will work something out come in Thursday and he will confirm on Wednesday again I waited for the phone call or email n neither where sent I then called him and explained that I found a job on my own if I can go pick up my money since no services where rendered to my I did not use anything they had to offer then he got all offensive and told me to get a lawyer if I want my moneyDesired Settlement: $80.00

Review: This company misrepresented their product, they said one thing on their advertisement, through [redacted], and in person and another within their contract. I know there are many cases wherein nondisclosure usually does not constitute a misrepresentation; however it is misrepresentation when a person knows that the disclosure of that fact would correct a mistake of the other party as to the basic assumption on which the party is making the contract. With the contract may have said no refunds, jobs are not guaranteed; however many applicants and myself applied to this job opportunity because we were under the impression that it would be at Saks 5th Ave, never did it explicitly mentioned I was going to be a security guard, fine. Yet, I was also told that I'd only need to pay, rather just pay $80 if I were to get the the job for training purposes, then there was a magic fee of $240, ok. On top of that I was told I was going to have to complete three days of training and on that last day I should go dressed then return to where I got my interview and from their get placed at my job. Because I was unaware of the time I should return to the career center, I called twice prior to my return date and I was told to come in not on the last day of training, Thursday, but in actuality the next day,Friday in business attire, with my id, ss, and my certificates. I returned Friday only to be told I am being placed at my job site through the same place I had received training. When I went for placement I was directed to a security location where I was told they look at applications over the course of 4weeks. So...no job, it wasn't do training then start working immediately as this career center promoted. If I knew this was not immediate employment I would have never agreed to this agency.Desired Settlement: I would like my $240 refunded, I don't have any problem ripping my certificates either, because their practically pointless without a security license, which would appear vital.

Response:

At this time, my complaint, ID [redacted] regarding 1st National Career Center has been resolved.

If I'm not mistaken, a week after my complaint was received, a representative of 1st National called me in. To my surprise there was no beating around the bush when I arrived. I spoke with an employee who said her boss was offering to pay for my security license, still with no guarantee of employment.Subsequent being told this I spoke with the boss and he said that my complaints were valid. As a solution he offered to pay for my security license or refund me my money because they have been in good standing with Revdex.com for if I'm not mistaken for 15 years, according to him. I took the latter and can confirm that the money has been credited back to me.

Sincerely,

Review: I was job searching on [redacted] on Tuesday August [redacted], 2013 when I came across this posting (http[redacted]) I quickly called the number that was on the Craigslist post off of the excitement that the job pays up to $22 per hour. I called the ###-###-#### number that was on the posting and got thru with a representative. The representative told me to come down at 3:30 PM on Wednesday August [redacted], 2013 to [redacted] in Manhattan on the 12th Floor and ask for [redacted]. He also told me to bring $80 dollars cash for processing fee a valid ID card and my social security card. Those three things should've been a red flag for me but I was so engrossed by the possibility of getting hired for a full time job where I can earn up to $22 per hour being that I have been job searching for close to a year. I arrive at the location and ask for [redacted]. I'm told to sit down in the waiting room and fill out a questionnaire form. As I'm looking around the waiting room I see a lot of signs that's hanging up all around the office that says If you think this is a scam please leave now. My gut feeling was telling me to get up and leave but again I was so engrossed by the thought of receiving a full time job and making up to $22 an hour I stayed. [redacted] came and got me and introduced me to an [redacted] man in his late 40's-to mid 50's who was going to do the interview. The man asks for my resume and starts the "interview". I should've known there was something wrong because it wasn't a real interview and [redacted] wasn't the one interviewing me. The [redacted] man skimmed thru my resume and told me I was qualified and started sweet talking me regarding how sharp I look in my suit and that I have the right attire on for the job. He also tells me other applicants came in with ghetto attire on and won't get the job but I have the right look for the job. He gets up from interviewing me a couple times and goes in another room. He comes back finishes up the sloppy "interview" and asks for the $80 cash my ID card and my social security card. I give him all three. He goes in another room I assumed to photocopy my ID and social security card. He comes back out to give me my Photo ID and my Social Security Card and tells me that the $80 was due today to hold my seat in the training class and before I start working as a doorman/security guard for the residential complex I would have to pay $399.00 He tells me that the training classes are 3 days long. He says that its Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. He tells me that I can't start the training until I pay the $399. That quickly raised a red flag. I asked him where did the $399 come from I thought it was $80 and he says the $80 was just to hold my spot in the training class. At this time I felt pressured by my interviewer and didn't know what to do. He quickly drops the price and tells me he can lower the price to $249 for me but I would have to pay that before I start the training class. I told him I wouldn't be able to come up with that much cash in a short period of time. [redacted] comes and tells the man he can work out a payment plan for me and when I come up with the rest of the money call him at this number ###-###-#### so they can schedule the training days for me. I felt pressured, backed into a corner and very uncomfortable. After the fake interview was over they got me out of the office quickly. My gut feeling was telling me that this was a scam but I didn't listen. I was desperate for a job and I realized that companies like 1st National Career Center prey on people like myself who is going thru hard times and looking for employment. There actions was wrong and unjust. I demand my $80 refund back, I demand my ID card information back and out of there hands, and I demand my social security number and info back and out of there hands. I felt used, humiliated and taken advantage of nobody should have to go thru this.Desired Settlement: The $80 that I was told to bring to hold my seat in the training classes I want back. I also want my Photo ID and Social Security Card and SSC number out of there hands and deleted from there records. I want [redacted] and the man that interviewed me to go to prison for false advertisement, Identity Theft, Identity Fraud, and for lying to people such as myself by posing as a job recruitment center. 1st National Career Center should be shut down and shouldn't be allowed to do this to anybody else again.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. I would also like the copies of my New York State ID and my social security card back in my possession.

Sincerely,

Review: They advertise online about a job position that is not available. Then they make you come in for the appointment and scam you. They tell you, you must pay a $90 fee for a security guard training. This fee is only a down payment and they fail to tell you that over the phone when they are pitching you the job requirements. Once you give them the money without them having to have asked you any questions about any type of experience you might have had in the field, they try to get you out of the premises as fast as possible. This company is a scam! The whole training cost $399 and they don't guarantee a job position for you. Then, the guy who was interviewing me tried to hire me as well as his [redacted] also so I could help him scam other people. So that I could help him do the same that he had done to me!Desired Settlement: I want this company shut down! Many other people are getting this type of treatment! And others are getting hired to treat others this way! This is not right....

Sincerely,

Review: I went to this facility after answering an ad for maintenance personnel on [redacted]. The ad said they were staffing for doorman and maintenance in midtown Manhattan as well as NJ which was full-time and required OSHA certification. I would need to take a training course for 2-3 days before I could start work and it would cost me $100.When I got there, I talked to a [redacted] who told me I would have to give $100 in order to reserve my place and that fingerprinting, background check and the OSHA classes would bring the entire total to get this job $599. I know that finger printing at best is about $115, OSHA certification less than 100 (it is indeed a 10 hr. course) and that background checks are free. This was an extremely overpriced service for not even a guaranteed job. He also told me that the $100 was non-refundable. This man is taking advantage of people desperately looking for work and charging exorbitant fees that are not necessary. Secondly, they also give courses in security and the like and it is not a certified business or location. This place needs to be investigated. At this point, I believe it is a scam and I am worried b/c I gave my social security number to these people and I don't know what they will do with it. Please make this a top priority so more people will not be suckered in and robbed of their hard earned money. I had high hopes, but they were dashed when I realized that this is simply a referral service and the money people are paying for this "service" actually goes to hell in a hand basket and does no one any good. They only people profiting or the scammers themselves.Respectfully,[redacted].Desired Settlement: I hope enough complaints or a thorough investigation will get them out of business. Too many people are being bamboozled by them. I was lucky I didn't lose any money, but there are numbers of others who have. I just want justice for them and everyone who comes afterward. It isn't right to give people hope that they will be gainfully employed when they will not. It makes it even worse when they are robbed of their hard earned money.

At this time, I have not been contacted by 1st National Career Center regarding complaint ID [redacted].

Sincerely,

Review: After moving to New York for about two months at this point, I saw an ad on [redacted] that was offering positions all over the five Burroughs of New York City with training/work as either an armed or unarmed security personnel. Seeing as my bills were starting to pile up and the ad claiming to pay $12 an hour with rapid advancement, I immediately jumped on the opportunity to send the company an e-mail and setup an interview - or so they call it. This was on 10/**/13. I didn't hear back from them the following day, so around 3:30 or so in the afternoon on 10/**/13, so I decided to call them and see if they received my e-mail or not. A [redacted] picked up the phone and asked me when was the soonest possible time for me to get to the office was because according to her, they close at 5 p.m. Being that I'm in the Brooklyn area I said no more than 40 mins and from there I hoped on the subway and went to [redacted].

I went in and was directed to a [redacted] who didn't really give much of an interview at all like they said they would on [redacted]. Instead he kept giving me compliments left and right, such as how well dressed I was and even praised my last name [redacted] and likened me to [redacted] (thanks but that's not what I'm here for [redacted]).

It was from here that things got really sketchy as he out-of-blue started telling me that in order to take a basic unarmed security class it was going to cost $299 and to get your fireguard training, which according to him pays anywhere from $16-$18 per hour, it would cost $399. I told him I didn't have $299 and he told me that that was required in order for me to get my certification and cover the cost of my uniform. I told him it wasn't feasible and left that day.

I returned the following day 10/**/13 with the idea of having them take out the $299 from my paycheck when I get started and proposed this to [redacted]. He told me that they couldn't (being 1st National Career Center Inc) but that he could lower the price for me to $250 then $100 then $80 for me - AND ONLY FOR ME. I thought about it for awhile before finally agreeing to the offer, still hesitant but again, I'd been out of work for a while and the bills were starting to pile up so I took the chance. I went to the front desk and got signed up for training on 11/**/13 and was told to text [redacted] the Tuesday of.

Excited, just yesterday 11/**/13, I got in touch with my sister and shared life stories etc, etc. She asked me if I had found a job yet and I told her the same story as I mentioned above. To make a long story short, she sent me a few links detailing that people just this past year have essentially been cheated out of there money. (and if you haven't already, I implore that you see this

[redacted].

P.S., the companies owner on his posts claims that they explain that their company gets charged a certain fee to get us registered to become security officers. Not true at all, or at least [redacted] didn't explain that to me. Also, why wouldn't they just be upfront about it on their [redacted] ad? This is how they get people).

So today, 11/**/13 I went in to see if their office was still where I left it on 10/**/13 and 10/**/13, or if they had up and moved to another location like what has happened to other people who've been scammed out of their money in the past (they're still their). Funny thing though is that I happened to run into [redacted] again coming back from a smoke break and he honestly didn't look too thrilled to see me. I started asking him questions as to where the classes were and where I'd be stationed (which seemed to annoy him) and he told me that the address to the school was on the sheet that was given to me before I left. Umm... excuse me? What sheet? I told him that last time I left their office I was empty-handed and I was by-the-way. He started getting upset and tried to imply that I irresponsibly lost the sheet, then he proceeded to blame the woman at the front desk for not giving me the sheet and told me to come up stairs to figure out what happened. SO uncomfortable.

We go upstairs and he starts demanding to know why the lady didn't give me my "Class Ticket" as the sheet officially calls it. From there she looked at me and asked me what I did with my ticket which I assured her as I did with [redacted] that I was never given one. This went on for at least ten seconds before [redacted] told the woman to go check my file and see when I was written down to take the class. She couldn't find me or the white binder that she wrote my name down in when I paid my $80 on 10/**/13 to take the class.

I was then told to go in a backroom to see a [redacted] and was told that I needed to provide ID in order to make sure I was written down. WHAT?! I didn't even need to provide ID to sign up in the first place, so why would I need to provide ID just to make sure they wrote me down in their book correctly? At this point I was on autopilot and the un-professionalism if you will of this company was becoming more and more apparent. When I was escorted to the backroom, [redacted] kept telling the woman that he was CERTAIN, that he gave me a class ticket and was making me out to feel like a [redacted] from the other room. The woman from the front desk came back and asked, "are you sure that no provided you with a class ticket or the proper forms to take the class?" and I looked her dead in the eye and told her "Why would I lie about something like that??" She said she didn't know and told me that they would get me another one. After that [redacted] told me that my class got moved from the [redacted] to the [redacted]. When I demanded to know why that was the case, she didn't respond and then suddenly switched the class again from 11/** and 11/**. I thought I only needed to take one 8 hour class? Why 2 now? I just smiled and took the sheet. As I was leaving I saw [redacted] in the adjacent room and he REFUSED TO MAKE EYE CONTACT WITH ME OR ANYTHING, still upset perhaps over the fact that he thought he gave me a class ticket or whatever.

I wanted to ask for a refund, but seeing as [redacted] and the others were clearly upset at me because THEY HAD TROUBLE FINDING MY NAME IN THEIR WHITE BINDER and DIDN'T GIVE ME A CLASS TICKET, I decided to go to a higher power.

This company is beyond unprofessional and I'm certain that given the disarray of the office and the constant shifting around and fast-talking nature of their "employees" if they are that, that this business may be fraudulent. As an additional side note to my complaint, if you google 1st National Career Center, you will find little to nothing pertaining to that business that it's not fraudulent.Desired Settlement: All I want is to get my $80 dollars back that I could be using to help pay off bills and for them to destroy any record of my social security, address, etc, etc. I have no idea what these people will try to do with my info in the future and I'm a little nervous that I gave them my info in the first place.

I have called [redacted] to let him know that he can come to the office and fill out a refund form for $80.00. I left a message on voicemail. We could not help him and so he is entitled to a refund.

Thanks,

Office Manager

Review: I saw a tempting ad in [redacted] stating that lobby attendants as well as Saks 5th Avenue are needed. It provided a phone number to contact [redacted], but I then found out that [redacted] was [redacted]. I can not believe that I was so naive that this place will want to help me get a job placement. So the employment agency is 1st National Career Center. When I spoke to [redacted] he requested $80, in order to start my training for a security job. So I thought that it was going to be only that training. Later, I found out that the $80 is like a down payment to the 8hr, and two 16 hrs training classes plus CPR and Fire quadrant. The total cost of the training is $586. [redacted] requested half amount of the total cost for the following week, but I returned and informed [redacted] that I did not have the money. I was working at that time, but I had to pay my rent and credit cards so I could not and still can not afford the training. He told me that he thought I was working, well yes, but I am a female and do not earn enough to pay the training. So l told him to sign me up for the CPR class, but he said that was not enough for him to place me into a job. He requested $100 to take a 8 hr class. I informed him that I did not have money so he said he could not sign me up for any class until I gave him money which is understandable. [redacted] never mention that I had to pay for the training or else the employment agency will send my bill to collection. Since May **, 2013 , I have not return. Until two weeks ago, I was contacted by a lady named [redacted] and informed me that if I do not pay she will send my bill to collection. Pay for a training that I have not taken and can not afford??? This is ridiculous and a scam. The employment agency is forcing me to take the training in order to get money from me. Therefore, [redacted] tried to reduce the amount to $250 so I can take my training. I informed her that I am not currently working, but she said that is better that I paid because I would not want her to send me to collection. I felt depress and shock to hear this. I have been to many employment agencies and I have never been treated like this. I told [redacted] to keep the $80, but still she said that in two weeks my bill is going to be send to collection. Please Revdex.com help me solve this issue. Also [redacted], said that under the contract it states that I have to pay them. First of all, the contract states that when enrolling to training I need to pay for the training. And it does not states that the bill is going to be send to collection if the training is not paid. Also, there is a part that I did not write my initials, also their phone and fax numbers are not written on the paperwork. And when I google the name it does not appear on the website. Why??

Please helpDesired Settlement: I want the agency not to send my "bill" if there is any to collection and to shredd my social security and personal information they have from me. And to contact me through email so everything gets recorded in writing.

Thank you
