Pressure to Collect funds, wrong paperwork med exam procedures I didn't approve. [redacted] didn't regard that my ins was the only way I could pay.
Referral Invitation Free Consultation: Aug 15, 2013 [redacted] told me the only way I could know how much Patient Care would cost is with a general Blood work and a Saliva test an I alerted her my insurance needs to cover my expense -I was leaving my job Aug 25th. [redacted] said the Saliva test is never covered and out of pocket cost is $180.and the desk girl [redacted] was asked to inquire with Blue Cross about Blood work required and reported my insurance would cover my test, and also reported my insurance is over September 1 and we need to work quickI paid $180 Saliva Test. After testing I found that she was wrong and my insurance ended 25th two days before I completed blood work on the 27th. I did not know my insurance ended until I received a 1600. blood work bill early Sept. There were many situations along the way in August that struck me as odd: when I arrived at assigned LabCor facility, the desk tech questioned that the name on the top of the paperwork was not mine- we called the office and [redacted] said she made a mistake and to cross it out because my address was actually correct on the paper, the Lab questioned this seriously and we had to call for [redacted] and a Doctor to also verify, and their answer was quick and matter-of-fact-like. The lab then asked if I fasted and I told I did not have to, we called in the office again and they again verified with the technician. Then the technician told me they did not take my insurance. We called the office again, and I was assigned to make appt with Quest Diagnostics Lab where tests #XXX-XXXXXXXXX and #XXX-XXXXXXXXX were completed but the same questions when I arrivedthis tech told me that not fasting would cause my sugar to seriously effect these series of tests and the listed tests were only given if there was a fast...but we called the office and they said to continue-and by then me and the tech remained with question. For the 3-day Saliva test I was given a kit in a mailing box to complete and a FedEx label to be mailed in three days only[redacted] counted the days on her fingers and assigned that the box needed to be in the mail Saturday morning for arrival no later than Tuesday morning at the lab, but Fed Ex did not accept the label for that instruction and I repurchased another label which cost 11.45, I was disturbed as a new patient because I was not referred with an alternate office telephone number if I ran into trouble nor that the office was closed on weekends, the following week Betsey agreed to reimburse. I had left several voicemails during the weekend and on Monday and Tuesday which they did not return which left me in question. Following: for my general physical the Doctor taking the exam took my weight on a 'home' scale 'on a rug' which revealed a 20lb lighter difference and I alerted her. following: another test was attempted that I stopped because [redacted] forgot I had care already with a chiropractor. I had a lot of financial questions and had to open COBRA paying $1500 to do so because the date that [redacted] told me my insurance was out was not September 1 but Aug 25th putting me a bad financial situation and in our follow-up results meeting I received high pressure again from [redacted] and [redacted] persistant that I open an office CreditCare loan and use my credit cards to pay thousands for further care even though I was financially in debt already and suggested I wait to move into my job. The office will not answer my correspondance on this open bal of blood work testing that Blue Cross and I remain vague and to give answers it was never inquired in the beginning, and about a collection letter from American Medical Collection Agency for this past due $219. for test #XXXXX that my insurance company said was not requested for coverage and not approved by my plan. All of this experience is questionable and disrespectable of my patient rights that they knew I would not be able to pay without insurance coverage and for disregarding the trouble of a Collection Agency to me
