Review: On Tuesday, April *, 2013, I called 20-20 Optical to make an appointment for an examination and new glasses and I explained that I needed to know if they would have enough time to make the glasses as I was leaving for Europe on Thursday May *, 2013, the person I spoke to pulled out my card (i was a walk-in client once before) and he said no problem, they had plenty of time to make the glasses and he gave an appointment for Wednesday, April **, 2013. On Wednesday April **,2013 I went in, had my eyes checked and made all the arrangements to pick up my glasses either the following Monday 4/**/13 or Tuesday 4/**/13 and I again asked them if there were sure they would have them ready because I am a nanny and have to pack for the baby and I literally have no time to waste before I left for Europe, I was told there would not be a problem and so I gave them $300 deposit, the total was a little over $800 which included a charge for $45 for eye exam, this eye exam is free of charge with purchase of glasses or so their website states. As I did not hear from them on Monday (4/**/13) I called them and they said there was a problem but they would be ready for Tuesday. I did not hear from them on Tuesday (4/**/13) and so I called again, they told me there was a problem because "things happen" [redacted] who I was talking to was laughing, he thought the whole thing was funny because he kept repeating "things happen" I explain that I had clearly told them I was leaving that Thursday (5/*/13) and had very little time to run around or wait for them. I am a nanny and need my glasses, especially going out of the country. He laughed and said well, things happened but you will have them before you leave, by this point I was clearly upset by his cavalier attitude and I requested a refund, [redacted] said no and so I hung up as I was very upset. [redacted] called my cell phone at 11:17 and left a voice mail again saying how "stuff happens, he did not realize I was leaving Thursday (!?) there was nothing he could do but sorry, stuff happens. On Wednesday 5/*/13 at 2 pm I received a voice message from [redacted] telling me the glasses were ready and I they were going to credit me $100 because the glasses were missing a coating and another $100 for the inconvenience. At 4:50 I received another voice message from [redacted] telling me sorry, no coating but glasses were beautiful, the purple looked great, he had taken them out in the sun and they were very dark in the sunlight. I was in dire need of glasses and so had to get a pair in Istanbul, Turkey, they cost me $855 and I had to call 20-20 Optical to get my information, I spoke to [redacted] and he said my $300 would be refunded. I sent two emails to the email address listed on their website to remind them of refund and both emails were returned undeliverable. Today, Thursday July **, 2013 at 10:12 I spoke to [redacted] at 20-20 Optical, he refused to refund the $300 and told me to take him to small claims court.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of $300 plus $500 to help me offset the payment in Turkey and for the aggravation and stress they caused me especially [redacted] who thought the whole thing hilarious. I work very hard for the money I earned and believe 20-20 Optical to be a trustworthy business. I have all the voice mails recorded and have kept all details of my transactions/conversations with them very carefully, honestly and conscientiously
