Initial Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2014/05/05) */
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 9, 2014/05/07) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
2001 is being dishonest in their response. My vehicle has been in their shop five times in...
addition to the day I first began leasing the vehicle because after taking it on the initial test drive the car had problems they said would be "fixed" because they wanted me to leave happy. The first time I took it to their shop was two days after I brought the car because the transmission was defective. They let me leave with the car and the defective transmission because they said the car needed to "warm up". Each time I took the vehicle in the mechanic [redacted] would have me fill out a repair order form in which I would need to write what issues the car was having. 2001 said these copies are in my file, and that I cannot be given the copies, but now are taking that back and saying my car has not been in their shop. My car has been in their shop for a check engine light twice, once was for a cracked hose (vacuum leak) and another for an oil sensor. In addition to the rebuilt transmission which then had to go back due to the Trans fluid leaking and again to have the solenoid pack replaced. They also replaced the sway bar, secondary air pump, and a belt. I believe they are saying my car was never fixed in their shop because they never did any actual work to fix the car. They would keep my car for many days at a time then give the car back with the same problems that it had going into their shop, on some occasions getting the car back with many more miles it had when I brought it to their shop. I was also never given any notice as to what they were fixing on the car or any records of work that had been done as they are suppose to do under the Illinois law known as the Automotive Repair Act. The only paper they would give me is the warranty for the transmission, which they finally allowed to have a month after it was fixed. However when I try to speak to these people and try to receive paperwork that should be given to me as part of my right the manager, [redacted], started getting loud and told one of the other girls to call the police if I would not leave.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 13, 2014/05/12) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Once again 2001 is being dishonest and now contradicting their previous response by saying my car was not worked on in their shop but are now saying they "were not allowed enough time". The only reason I had to call was to check on the status of the car because the mechanic, [redacted] would say he would call me within an hour after I brought it in but I would never hear back. I was simply doing what any person who had their car in an automotive shop would do if they were not being told what was going on with their vehicle. And I would always allow the time they needed to fix it correctly but I would get it back with something still wrong with it, many times leaving it for days at a time in their shop. While I had it in their shop to be worked on I was paying for a car I purchased through them that was spending more time in the shop then it was on the road, while I was being forced to walk back and forth to work in rain and snow. I am very confused as to what the statement in the response states that "the family/friends that have accompanied have made several threatening and very vulgar comments towards our staff". No one ever made any threatening statements just simply were stating they were irritated with the fact I was sold a lemon. As for the "lawyer" I'm not sure about that either because no one has ever came in that was a lawyer, or say they were one, however someone did go to speak for me on my behalf. As of right now I am not worried about work on the transmission I am worried about other work they have performed on the vehicle that is now back to acting up once again because it was not fixed right the first time. However, I do not want my car to be worked on by them if they are not giving me any proof they are working on the vehicle and the fact that when I bring it to them they use up all my gas and drive my car over 100 miles with no explanation why.
