Home Warranty of America did dispatch us out on January 4th 2017 to address issues with the sump pump. technician removed the hose and cycled the pump several times. At the time of that service call, both the sump pump we looked at and the homeowner's back up sump were operational. The technician collected the diagnostic fee due. Weeks later HWA issues a recall for 217 Plumbing to go out for the same issue. We informed Home Warranty of American that based on the previous visit, the sump pump needs replaced due to the irreparable damage done to the float. Home Warranty told us they would not pay to replace the pump. We were told by Home Warranty that due to there being anything besides rain water draining into the pit, they would not pay for a replacement. The owner of 217 Plumbing contacted the homeowner and told him that we could not replace the pump unless he pays for it because his home warranty company is denying the claim. The homeowner said that he would not pay to have it replaced and wanted Home Warranty of America to pay for it. 217 Plumbing was told not to come make the replacement. We cannot go and perform work in someones home that neither the home warranty company nor the home owner authorize. Therefore, 217 Plumbing is not responsible for any damage done because the homeowner refused to have us make the replacement. I have also attached the invoice from the said date showing all that was billed was the service call and that the pumps were operational at the time we left.
