In August of my brother was faced with the possibility of having to sell his house due to declining healthHe ordered a home inspection so that he would know what repairs he might have to makeIt revealed two problems with the bathroom that needed to be fixedThe issues were inherent to the work that had been done and were not from wear and tearSince 21st Century Home Improvement had done a $28,bathroom remodel in 2015, I asked them to fix the problemsThe first response was that the city inspector had signed off on the project but she would let her boss knowThe only permit I could find, however, was for a $10k handicapped shower - it did not mention the rest of the bathroom which is where the problems layI called back and asked if they could send me a copy of the document showing that the entire bathroom had been inspected but now the answer was that their work was only guaranteed for a year - it had been monthsThe lady who I spoke with had said she would let her boss know there was a problem and they would see when they would have time to come out and take a lookIn spite of multiple phone calls I was never allowed to speak to him and he did not return my callsFinally, after two weeks of runaround, I asked them if they had any intention of fixing the problems and all I got was the same answer: the work had been signed off and it has been more than monthsIn frustration I told her that I would file an online complaint and then I heard a male voice in the background holler out "go ahead"Apparently he had been listening all along and simply didn’t have the inclination to deal with a customer’s complaintIf you want a contractor who stands behind their work and who is willing to speak with you if problems arise you should NOT hire this companyTwo thumbs down

Since 21st Century Home Improvement had done a $28,360 bathroom remodel in 2015, I asked them to fix the problems. The first response was that the city inspector had signed off on the project but she would let her boss know. The only permit I could find, however, was for a $10k handicapped shower - it did not mention the rest of the bathroom which is where the problems lay. I called back and asked if they could send me a copy of the document showing that the entire bathroom had been inspected but now the answer was that their work was only guaranteed for a year - it had been 15 months.
The lady who I spoke with had said she would let her boss know there was a problem and they would see when they would have time to come out and take a look. In spite of multiple phone calls I was never allowed to speak to him and he did not return my calls. Finally, after two weeks of runaround, I asked them if they had any intention of fixing the problems and all I got was the same answer: the work had been signed off and it has been more than 12 months. In frustration I told her that I would file an online complaint and then I heard a male voice in the background holler out "go ahead". Apparently he had been listening all along and simply didn’t have the inclination to deal with a customer’s complaint.
If you want a contractor who stands behind their work and who is willing to speak with you if problems arise you should NOT hire this company. Two thumbs down.

21st Century Home Improvement pulled a permit for the furnace and it was signed off "finaled" by the City. If there were any issues after the permit was signed off on January 24, 2014, Mrs. [redacted] should have given us the opportunity to address those issues. She never reached out to us again. Since day one on the project, Mrs. [redacted] was very upset that our employees were of Chinese/Asian descent (as stated in her complaint) and complained about their English. 21st Century Home Improvement does not discriminate against age, race and/or ethnicity.

1st, the inspectors signed off before final completion and requested corrections by same inspectors were verified. no final inspection was ever made. 2nd-because of being left with a not only non working but dangerous furnace that required an EMERGENCY nighttime visit by PG&E, we were fearful to allow 21st century to continue any further work as our safety was at stake. they did a dangerous and incompetent installation. the asbestos work has been completed and the final furnace corrections are in process. and lastly but not least, we were upset not because the workers were chinese, but because they couldn't communicate or even understand english, and english is the only language we speak. therefore, we expect any worker on our premises to be able to communicate with us. we shouldn't need a translator. that is preposterous!!! we will be more than happy to provide 21st century with copies of bills when all the corrective work has been completed.

Mrs. [redacted] has never mentioned that she already accepted a $500.00 credit at the end of her project. We have offered to pay for both invoices. We will offer an additional $500.00 in good faith and to move forward.

copies of hvac and asbestos removal bills were forwarded directly to Revdex.com to send to contractor. contractor merely repeats prior defense over and over. he is not addressing the main issue. the inspectors did not do a final inspection and the furnace was completed only after the inspectors signed off. we were indeed left with a dangerous furnace and we do have proof. the report from PG&E who made an emergency nighttime visit the very day furnace was deemed completed by contractor workers. we had no thermostat control and temperature kept increasing with inability to turn it of! and the foreman of the job named [redacted], took a photo of the report from PG&E, so the contractor was aware of the dangerous problem. aditionally, we were left with an incomplete and improper asbestos removal which left us breathing asbestos fibers which required state approved abatement. that is a health hazard deemed by the state of california. and again, as to the language issue, we could not communicate effectively and we called 21st century several times asking for someone to come who spoke enough english to understand us. but that issue pails in comparison to the incomplete, dangerous job performed by 21st century.
