Review: The above mentioned insurance carrier's client backed into my vehicle causing damage to the left side of my vehicle on 3/17/14 at a Marathon station in Newburgh, IN. This was as I was entering a parking stall to the right of their client. He backed up and turned right hitting my vehicle on the left side. I did not have any opportunity to take evasive action as he backed up and turned very quickly. The above mentioned company has stated in a letter dated 3/26/14 that I am 20% at fault for not taking evsive action and they will only pay for 80% of my repair costs.Desired Settlement: I want the company to pay for 100% of the damage caused by their client since I am in no way responsible for any of this accident.

Review: 21st century insurance preferred auto-payment billing and at first we agreed until we discovered that they tried to bill our card at 12:01 am on the due date and we assumed that we had the entire due date to make payment.

We told them that because of their extremely early attempt to get paid we no longer wanted to be on auto-payment billing and that we would prefer to pay on due date by phone. they agreed to our preference,however they never corrected this pay method and attempted to auto pay themselves again this month and somehow managed to take our payment and still cancel our policy even though we have paid them each month on time.

They say that underwriting will cancel us if they want to and keep using cancellation as an inferred threat.Desired Settlement: reinstate my auto insurance and stop playing these gotcha games

Response:

I reviewed our file and found that the Harris' called our office on October 15, 2013 and requested to be taken off of Autopay. We processed their request.

On October 30, 2013, they called our office after receiving a bill which included a $5 installment fee. Installment fees are waived for Autopay customers. At that time, they requested to be placed back on Autopay to avoid paying the installment fees. We waived the $5 fee as an accommodation.

On November 20, 2013, we attempted to take their monthly installment from their credit card. That same day [redacted] called to make a payment as [redacted] had just deposited the funds into the account. We took a payment over the phone. While [redacted] denied having reset the policy on autopay on October 30, 2013, she agreed to leave the policy on Autopay. On November 23, 2013, the autopay attempt from November 20, 2013 was declined by their bank. While working a report for rejected payments, our underwriter set the policy to cancel in error as they missed that a replacement payment was made on the same day as the rejected payment. We apologize for this oversight and any inconvenience it may have caused.

On December 19, 2013, [redacted] called to make a payment and was advised of the cancellation. After reviewing the policy, our representative reinstated the policy without a lapse in coverage. [redacted] called later that evening and made a payment for the last installment for their current term.

The policy has been removed from Autopay and the policy will be assessed a $5 installment fee for all installment billings after the initial renewal billing.
