Matan locksmith (which is not the advertised name but was revealed when I signed a Docusign payment form)was called in an emergency from a quick Google search when I locked myself out of my house. The manager, [redacted], quoted the visit would start at $19 and $35 for repairs. They took an hour longer to arrive than promised and drove up in a private car with no ID or proof of company name. The young man, [redacted], after trying to pick an ordinary doorknob lock claimed it could not be picked and he would have to drill the lock and replace it. He did not produce an invoice or any breakdown of costs. I then called another locksmith who told me to ask to see his locksmith license and said that a doorknob lock can easily be picked. He told me I was being scammed. When I came back to the door [redacted] had already replaced the lock and charged me $375. I called his company to complain and [redacted] said to "work something out with the technician." [redacted] then offered to replace the dead bolt lock as well so they had the same key and he wouldn't charge extra. My husband agreed to the but I demanded an invoice and continued to call the company who now avoided my calls.I was now told I could not pay by check and had to give my credit card over the phone to [redacted] or cash to [redacted]. I did not agree. I did agree to pay online via docusign. When I related this to a licensed locksmith he said I had been grossly overcharged and advised that I change the locks myself ($20 at [redacted]) in case these people try to break into the house. Now when I try to find this company's address I find another company with the same name and another phone number. But the company I paid $375 to was MATAN LOCKSMITH.Product_Or_Service: LocksDesired SettlementI would like a refund
