called 24hr services on 4/24/2014 about 2:00pm because furnace wouldn't start, was told by service tech we had 1) bad pilot assembly 2) bad ignition module 3)plus he said something about bad wiring somewhere, this would cost over $1000 or more, and if he got it started he would have to red tag it because it had a crack on the right bank, we had him do nothing,,we called a local furnace repair man,,20 minutes is all it took him to have furnace running,,all he did was clean the pilot ,and he sees NO crack anywhere

Review: Our furnace went out. I called the next morning and serviceman came out at 3:30pm. The temperature was 6 degrees outside and 54 inside. My husband knew it was the motor/bearing and had the door off for the serviceman where the motor was. The serviceman spent less than 5 min diagnosing the problem. He called to see if they had a motor and they did. I asked how much the part cost and he didn't know. He went and got the part and came back (trip time 40min). He then came in and put the part in. (10min). He gave me a bill for $821.85. This included 89.00 for a diagnostice fee. There was a 690.00 fee for repair, replace, and install. Taxes. We looked up the part he put in and we could purchase it for 230.00. We were charged 460.00 Labor!! We found that to be ridiculous and my husband called for the break down of the 690.00 charge. My husband called three times before the owner called back. The owner stated he would check with the technician and call us back. He has not called back even with my husband calling again.Desired Settlement: There is no way they can actually be charging 460.00 for 55min (including 40min driving to get the part) We would like a call back as we were told and an adjustment to our bill.

Review: On 12/14/12 I had my heating system inspected by 24/7 Home Comfort Service as part of my Security Blanket Coverage. I I was told that my system failed and my service contract was voided. He told me that my chimney was crumbling and falling down and it was blocked and could start a fire at any time and that I had carbon monoxide in my basement and a big hole in my chimney. HE recommended a whole new system. He said it was "extremely dangerous and we could all die". He said my boiler was extremely corroded and needed to be replaced. He recommended that we not use our chimney at all and get a new boiler and hot water heater and have them vented out the side. After he left I was extremely upset as I had my granddaughter coming to stay and thought the house was uninhabitable and extremely dangerous the way he made it sound. I then contacted a local reputable heating contractor to come and inspect. He showed me the inside of the chimney which had a little bit of blockage on one side but he said this would not cause any problems. The "Big hole" in the chimney was 1-1/2" around and was patched with mortar by my husband in a few minutes. HE showed me the inside of the combustion chamber and corrosion was very minimal and I was told I did not need a new boiler. The carbon monoxide levels in the basement were 4ppm. OSHA has determined over 50 is dangerous in commercial settings. We had our chimney inspected in Aug. 2012 by a chimney specialist because of leakage and were told chimney was fine we just needed a chimney cap which we did get. I paid $203.86 for the inspection and blanket coverage for a year. Since they voided my service contract after the inspection I requested reimbursement from 24/7 HOme Comfort on 12/17/12. I sent them a detailed letter explaining what happened and that the findings of my 2nd inspection showed my boiler and chimney were o.k. I received no response. On 11/4/13 I received a bill from them for this years service contract and annual inspection.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the $203.86 paid to them for my inspection and service contract. I had to have the heating system and chimney re inspected and they also cancelled my service contract.

Response to complaint #[redacted]

As of January 20, 2014, a payment has been made to Mr [redacted] in the amount of $203.86 per his request.

We stand behind our technicians, and believe that they diagnosed the equipment based upon the knowledge and tools available at that time.

We feel we have abided by his requests.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me as long as the refund is made in a timely matter. As of 1/25/14 no check

Regards,

Travis arrived on time, checked the furnace and air conditioner and answered all of my questions, was very polite and businesslike. The only negative thing was that he wouldn't do my windows! :)
This company has always given me great service anytime that I have called them.

Review: I called the company and canceled a furnace protection service in Aug because we would be closing on the house in two weeks on Sep 12th and no longer wanted their service. The receptionist took the information and told me she would get it to the right party that was in a meeting. On Sep 29th I was billed for their service when I no longer even live in the house. I receptionist told me when I called on a Saturday someone would get back to me on Monday. No one did by 11:30am so I called. They wanted to get back to me and I said no I wanted to talk to someone. The billing office was aware that I did indeed sold the house on the 12th but I must pay for Sept. because I did not cancel. I talked to a supervisor and she told me I had never called EVER. I was just now canceling. This is all very poor business practices. Money was taken out Aug 26th for their service which should have even been paid then up to Sep 29th anyways. There was no way of getting around this company. They had one lie after another. When they said I had never called that was the last straw. The amount is only $25.15 but I was treated very badly. I did my job by calling in to cancel the service due to selling the house. They should plain honor that. Since their employees did not do their job is not my fault. They took out an automatic payment from my checking but the supervisor was not a lady. Very mean and lied constantly. I would never do business with them again if I ever owned a house again. They said I signed up on the 26th and that it did not go from the 26th to the 26th. It paid for the month. So I lost all the previous days and was only protected for 4 days. I see it that I paid an extra month or more. I should have signed up on the first. [redacted]Desired Settlement: $25.15

Review: I had my Furnace checked October 8, 2013. At first they told my Wife it was at risk due to a high reading (1000) of Carbon monoxide. They where even going to shut down the furnace. When I arrived on scene it magically went down to almost zero. I though that was hard to believe. I did let them complete the check. I did pay the bill after the person was done. However, I just received another bill for $288.05. I called them October 31,2013. They told me I had to pay it to get the protection plan. I told them I didn't want the plan. They told me if I didn't take the plan the would need to charge me $500 instead. Another option they said was to remove some product they had replaced. Either way doesn't seem to make sense to me.Desired Settlement: I want to cancel the program without an increase in price. I need a better reason to pay the $288.00 they are asking. No written explanation has been sent to me. I felt that once I paid the bill after the inspection was done I didn't owe anything. I think I have the right to not take the protection plan without penalty. I am will to negotiate a lower price.

I totally appreciate your response and the action you did take!

Review: they came out on a cold night to see why we were not getting heat.they said it was going to cost $133.00 to come to house and tell us what the problem was.he came out did a little checking and never said anything about what he was doing, then he went out side and came back in and said the furnace was fixed he removed ice from out side and then charged me $299.62.I then called and talked to [redacted] and he said he was going to refund the $166.00 because the guy who came out never told me what he was doing and did not replace anything on my furnace for that kind of charge.I since have called many times and [redacted] does not respond to my calls.I think this is very bad business and would like my refund like Ron had promised.Desired Settlement: I would like a check sent back to me as he promised.

In response to Ms. [redacted] complaint.

As of January 14, 2013, Ms. [redacted] was given her refund as requested. We apologized for the confusion in billing.

We feel this issue has been resolved.

As always, we appreciate the opportunity to serve all of her Home Comfort needs

Great service. Our heat went out and we needed a new furnace. The installers showed up on time and were very professional. They kept things clean and explained what they did and how to use everything when they were done. Their service people are very nice and didn't try to sell us something we didn't need.

Found out from a different dealer, that I overpaid for a new furnace by $2000. My wife and I paid $5000 for a 60,000 BTU Lexair furnace. Comparable brands like Carrier and Trane furnaces run $3000 installed, with higher BTUs. My wife and I feel like we've been ripped off.

My wife and I woke up the morning of 3/2/16 to a 22 yr old furnace that stopped working. I was very hesitant, being a first time home owner, on calling a service tech but had no choice. The first company I called sent out two techs that matched up the furnace and a/c units to the specs I already had and gave me a quote. Being out of my price range, I decided to give 24hr. Home Comfort Services a call. I explained to the woman that my wife ran an At Home Daycare and we didn't have any heat. Within 2 hrs one of their sales reps arrived at our house. Dave walked me through everything that would have to be replaced. What amazed me the most, was the fact that we didn't need such a big furnace to heat our house. He explained how the effiency in a furnace had come so far over the years that we could go with a smaller unit. What also suprised me was he walked around the house measuring every window. Calculated it into a formula and came up with the required unit size in which saved us huge money compared to the simple matching as the other company did. He also got on the phone with their office and put a rush in for next day replacement due to the daycare. The next morning, Jeremy and Roy showed up and walked me through what was going to happen. One question arose and instead of making up an answer, Jeremy called their team leader for an answer. I was expecting the question to be answered over the phone but instead, Ryan, their team leader actually came to the house and walked me through the solution. My wife and I could not be happier with the fast, professional service that we received from 24hr Home Comfort Services! Don't waste your time calling around. This is the company you want in your home.
