Thank you for contacting MDI Prep regarding the concerns expressed by Ms. [redacted] MDI Prep is dedicated to ensuring excellent administrative service and the highest level of satisfaction possible... for our students. We therefore take seriously any indication that our students may be displeased with their experience. In Ms. [redacted] correspondence, dated August [redacted] 2014, she stated the following concerns: She claims, “we paid for mdi prep course( me and my friend)my friend did not sign the contract and for some personal issue we cannot start the course we asked Dr. [redacted] for refund. The first receipt under my friend name, who did not sign the contract (5005$ the second receipt was under my name (I signed for contract 1205$). She is disputing service issues and requesting a refund. In light of the above mentioned concerns, Ms. [redacted] is requesting that MDI Prep refund the entire amount paid for the program $6,010/$6,200.00. The MDI Prep Administrative Office reviewed Ms. [redacted] [redacted] 's records and verified the following: On June 23, 2014 email correspondence sent to [redacted] with syllabus and NBDE agreement. On June 28, 2014 received text message from [redacted] indicating her friend [redacted] would make payment for both [redacted] and ***. Also received email on this day from [redacted] indicating she was ready to make payment and attend orientation. On June 30, 2014 a payment in the amount of $5,005 received by payee name [redacted] for NBDE Part 1 course On July 1, 2014 a payment in the amount of $1,005 was submitted by [redacted] for payment of NBDE course On July 2, 2014 we received the following email from ***: Dear [redacted] , Thank you for your e-mail. On July 8, 2014 we received text message from [redacted] indicating she would like for MDI Prep to put the total receipt amount in ***’s name because she is the one paying for the course for both of them. On July 8, 2014 an email was sent to [redacted] indicating her payment for the entire amount for her and ***’s participation in the NBDE course On July 14, 2014 an email was sent with a link to the online class. A follow up email was sent to [redacted] and [redacted] indicated their absence and no notification of cancellation. [redacted] replied and apologized for missing class. On July 15, 2014 received a text message from [redacted] indicating that her cousin, a Doctor at [redacted] would make the final payment of $200.00 On July 23, 2014 received a text message from [redacted] indicating she would have a difficult time studying because of having to take care of her mother. She indicated she would send a letter from her embassy to explain this issue. Only July 26, 2014 an email and letter were sent to [redacted] indicating the MDI Prep refund procedures and what she needed to do in order for any refund to be considered. On August 2, 2014 an email was received from [redacted] with the following message: Sorry for delay response, But I was out of my office and the access to my e-mail was limited. Regarding our course, as [redacted] told you that she is busy with her mother and she cannot take the course for the time being and she will ask the embassy to get document (to whom it may concern) to support her situation. And as you know that we (me and ***) are connected together, that means we should start the course together and I cannot take the course alone. Under such circumstances, we want to cancel this course and refund our money and as you know that [redacted] did not sign the contract and the first receipt was under her name. Kindly check the attached file ( the 1st receipt). And regarding the document (to whom it may concern), I will send it to you when it will be ready. The MDI Prep Administrative Office would like to point out that according to the MDI Prep refund policy on the website and the agreement: Refund policy: All sales are final. Rolling start times mean that students who enroll (registration and payment submitted) will be considered an MDI Prep student. This student will be allowed to begin classes immediately or defer to a later time, but if a class is available, they will be considered a student. Because seating is limited, we do not offer full refunds unless there is no current class available and the student withdraws 1 week prior to the start of their program. Students will be allowed a 50% refund prior to the 3rd class day from the time a student completes registration. After the third class day, there is no refund. [redacted] and [redacted] agreed to a one month intensive NBDE class Monday through Friday for two hours each day. This time allotted for [redacted] and [redacted] reserved the time of MDI Prep Instructors and Administrators and prevented any new student enrollment for that time period. Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.
Thank you for your response
Regarding our complaint, I have many clarificationsI reject the MDI prepResponse, because it does not mention all truth and eventsLet me mention these things:
on the of June payment for mdi prep
2nd of July, Dr*** gave me appointment to meet him on line; I wait for 2hours then sent an
E-mail and try to contact him but no response
On the 3rd of July, same problem he promised me to see him on line, I Wait but he did not show up
On the8th of July, he told me to meet him on line and I wait also for hours then sent an E- mail, but No response
10th of July my friend *** told him that her mother surgery will be on this date (10/*/2014) and she cannot start the course for the time being because of her mother medical status and she needs closed caring
dr*** told her to tell him when we will be ready for the course ( also he said that *** cannot start alone and if she is wishing to do so she should pay 5000$ by her own), but because of 2points we did not start the course
1st Dr*** keep postponed until the same time of ***'s mother surgery, so it was difficult for her to start the course
2nd ***'s mother medical status and surgery So actually we did not start the course, Dr.*** did not provide us with any service, he told us that he will provide us with books which we did not receive them, he promised us that he will introduce us to some doctors who will help us in getting admission in US dental School and he did not do, he asked *** to buy a data show to help him in teaching her the course and she bought new data show and paid a lots of dollars without getting any benefit from it until now
For me, I bought a new laptop to start the course on time, spent a lot of money to get this laptop, spent a lot of time in downloading program to start on line course, waiting for Dr.*** times, for hours each time, sending E-mails, waiting for response, and cancelling a lot of my appointments in order to meet him. Really, I have a lot of responsibilities at work and at home with my husband and small kidsI tried to prepare everything for this course, but I did not gain anythingI just waste my time, money and effort for nothing
Dr.*** did not respect that and did not provide us with any service
Dr.*** mentioned that we supposed to have class on the 14th of July, but *** informed him from the 10th of July that she cannot start because of her mother surgery and he told her that just tell me when you are ready and *** cannot start the course alone and if she is wishing to do so she should pay 5000$ by her own, and now he is telling that he wait for us on the 14th of July and we did not show up (Taking in your consideration that *** did not sign the contract)
On the th of July, *** asked Dr*** for refund
On the 23rd of July, Dr.*** told *** that he raised the issue for the finance department and he will return the half of our money
on the 27th of July mdi prep sent E-mail asking for clarification, why we want to cancel the course
On the 3rd of ***, I sent a complaint to Revdex.com Company and Dr.*** talked with *** and told her we did not finalize the issue with you and you should wait before you made this complaint
Talking in account that the communication with dr.*** is difficult, for me sometime I am sending E-mails for him but there are no response from his side, and we are trying to call him but most of the time the mobile is connected to voice mail and no reply, trying to call him in skybe and I sent a request to accept but no response, really he failed in providing us with any serviceWe only waste our time, money and effort for nothing
So Again I will mention that *** did not sign the contract and the 1st receipt was under her name
Dr.*** did not start the course, did not give us the books and did not provide us with any service
And still I am asking for full refund, and what will be the policy for refund
(kindly check attached, ***'s mother medical report, *** medical support (certificate from UAE Embassy) and 1st Receipt)

Dear Revdex.com:
This correspondence responds to your email sent on May 12,
regarding the complaint submitted by one of the students enrolled in our
programWe take seriously any
indication that our students may be dissatisfied
with their experience at MDI Prep Corporation, and we appreciate the
opportunity to address this matter
In Mr*** complaint he asserts MDI prep owner Dr*** advised him that he could pay for the program and begin at a later dateThis does follow the protocol of the MDI Prep guidelines*** goes on to say that he started this session the beginning of this year around January and came to realize the class was far too fast for him As part of the enrollment process all students in our program are aware of the refund policy as was Mr*** It is clearly displayed on our website at * *** and confirmed during our initial meeting with the students.
Our classes are held as scheduled and the students in our program benefit from services renderedThose students who do not fully learn all the material the first time are welcome to attend multiple sessions at no additional chargeThis statement is clearly outlined in our catalog and on our website. Mr*** was offered this opportunity to attend multiple sessions if need be at no additional chargeHe refused to take part in our multiple review sessionsMr*** also asserts he received a check indicating a of refund for $This refund was given to cover the cost of books and materials and if MDI Prep had no availability or there were no classes offered during his examination period then a full refund of $1,would be grantedWe currently have MCAT sessions available for Mr*** to attend at no additional cost
While we are sympathetic with Mr***’s frustrations
regarding his current need to take the MCAT and his feeling of our course being to fast, we remain committed to helping him with his MCAT preparation and acceptance to medical schoolWe would also be more than happy to offer any review or additional help he may need to keep pace with the other students MDI Prep has followed
all policies in accordance with the company and as such we
respectfully decline Mr***’s request for any additional refund
We hope that this response is helpful. Please notify me directly at (713) 244-should you require additional information
After researching Mr*** claim, we find that he received books that he utilized, which have highlights, etcIn addition he was given the times the classes would be held prior to him signing up for the courseWhen he indicated to our staff that the group session meeting times would not
fit his schedule, we agreed to give him a private instructorPrivate instruction is at a cost of $5,which we agreed to waive the difference from his original amountIn addition, Mr*** did attend class with MDI Prep as shown via his Skype loginWhile we want only the best for Mr***, we do not feel a full refund is dueWe are willing to offer a partial refund in the amount of $1,If Mr*** would like to take advantage of our first offer of private or enroll in a group tutorial we will be more than happy to assist him at no additional cost
Mr*** is referring to Dr*** in his complaint, who is the founder but not the governing body of the companyWe have communication from Mr*** indicating he would be satisfied with a private instructor if one was providedIn addition, it is not in our policy to accept returned used books from students and grant full refunds in instances where books were used or classes missed because of student excuseMr*** spoke with Mrs*** and agreed to our offer of a private instructor to accomodate his scheduleOnce an instructor was secured, he called Mrs*** back to indicate he wanted a refundWe do not feel Mr*** is entitled to a full refund and would be willing to offer a satisfactory amount to allow appropriate resolution to this matterWe feel this is more than fair to assist Mr***

The MDI Prep
Administrative Office would like to point out that according to the MDI Prep
refund policy on the website and the agreement:
Refund

there is no current class available and the student withdraws 1 week prior to

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]
Regards,
It is indeed not resolve. I will quote you exactly what the page says, "Please Read: Rolling start times mean that students who enroll (registration and payment complete) will be considered an MDI Prep student. This student will be allowed to begin classes immediately or defer to a later time, but if a class is in session, they will be considered a student. Because seating is limited and we commit so many seats per class, we do not offer full refunds unless there is no current class in session and the student withdraws 1 week prior to the start of a new class session. Students will be allowed a 50% refund prior to the 3rd class day from the time a student completes registration. After the third class day, there is no refund." That following night after I went to my first class, I called Dr. [redacted] immediately to request for a refund. He accepted the refund as I explained to him why the class is not right for me. I told the TA who was in charge of the class at the time that the class didn't suit me. Furthermore, I repeat, I've called Dr. [redacted] for a refund that night. He even says the class I signed up for are for people who are about to take their MCAT and has sort of taken all of the pre-requisite at the time already. I however haven't finished my pre-requisite so I agreed to withdraw from the class. I've attended class only ONCE. Entering the class I didn't even receive my books to begin with. I've called in three times at least three weeks in advanced for my books before starting my session and yet none actually came to my house. The first time he said "I thought we sent them out already. I'm sorry I will send them out now." The second time I called again he says "I will get this sent out ASAP right now." The third time he says "your TA will have this during your review session" and as I went to class, no books were given. Please note that I've ATTENDED this class only once. I've called that night to request for a refund ASAP as well. He didn't pick up the first time, but he did call me back about an hour later, surprisingly, and agreed to provide me a refund. From that day forth I would call him consecutively and he would never reply back to ANY of my calls. Reason to why I called him consecutively you may be wondering? Well to get my refund. The first refund took more than a month to get to my house. He said it will take a month to get to my credit card after the first night I called him about withdrawing from the MCAT course, but after a month it never saw the refund on my credit card bill. I called consecutively afterwards, but he never answered. I then found a number to his assistant and requested for a check instead of a credit card since one month is too long for another wait. In about two weeks I receive my first 500 dollars refund. A matter of a fact as I was reading this message earlier he still failed to answer my calls since it says if I have an inquiry then I should call him. I left a voice message as well. If a phone bill is needed then I will provide you one to show you how many consecutive times I've called Dr. [redacted] and how many times has he actually replied back my calls. Allow me to clarify that it is not that I REFUSED to participate, but it is because the class did not suit me. Also it is not because I didn't want to participate in the class, but rather it is because I and Dr. [redacted] at the time have already agreed to a refund. First of all I've paid for this class. There is no reason to why I would even refuse to participate in this class. Furthermore if I so much refuse to participate in this MCAT course then why did I signed up for a Princeton one, which shall start on the 5/19/2014. There must be a reason to why I want my money back and I've provided all above.
Summary: 1) This is a 1500 class, there is no reason to why I would waste my money and not attend the class. If I had then I would report that immediately. 2) This unprofessional behavior is enough to make me move to another program. It was not the initial reason to why I wanted my refund, but it sure is the final reason to why I will want my refund back even more. 3) I've attended class only ONCE, so check your protocol again if you will. If you need any proof then I can provide proofs as I've known some people who were in that class and has only witnessed me come to class only once. I believe your TA take attendance am I correct, please do check that if you must. 4) Still to this day I didn't need to return the books to him because I've never received it to begin with. However I believe that is sort of resolved through the refunds. 5) How can I attend a class when I don't even have the MCAT book to study for this particular class? We all know that NO MCAT class can be facilitated without a guideline or a book review. Also please don't even tell me I did not address this issue because I have MULTIPLE times.
If you have any inquiry please call [redacted] and look for [redacted]. Have a wonderful day, sir.
This again is false. Mrs. [redacted] OFFERED the private instructor, however, I informed her that I needed one day to decide if I wanted to take the offer. The next day I declined the offer. I never ONCE accepted the offer for a private tutor because I was not pleased with the fact that no online course was provided to me. This is very disappointing to me with all of the false allegations made towards me. I never received a course that I paid for. The only highlighting done in the book was at the request of Dr. [redacted] to review material for the beginning of the session, however, once again I reiterate that I NEVER RECEIVED A SESSION. This is terrible and I'm extremely disappointed in this. I am ready to go further with legal action at this point.

That sounds fair
