I received the a complaint from Mr. [redacted] of [redacted] regarding the deck we resurfaced for him about a year ago (see attached invoice). The job was completed as specified in our discussions and as specified in the written estimate. In fact, Mr.... [redacted] and I walked the deck before the final payment was made and we had addressed any issues that he had at that time. The only thing that we did not do was paint or stain the deck as Mr. [redacted] said that he would prefer to do the painting himself.Mr. [redacted] emailed me this year on June 21st, a year after we completed the job, and asked me to swing by to look at the deck. I called him within 5 minutes of receiving the email and I told him I could come out the following week. He mentions in his complaint that I was late for our meeting, which was scheduled on Wednesday June 29th from 9-10. I emailed him when I was on my way from another job to let him know I might be as much as 10 minutes late (i didn't have his phone number handy). In the end, I actually made it on time - just a few minutes before 10. In fact, I saw him walking his dog down the street when I arrived - he actually turned around and saw me, and then kept walking.I waited approx 15 minutes for Mr. [redacted] to return from his walk. While I waited, I walked the deck and found that the deck had not been painted/stained/protected in any way since we worked on it a year ago. The deck faces south, and has little to no protection from the elements. We did use pressure treated lumber, but when left unprotected, eventually water/snow penetrates and it freezes and thaws to a point where it causes excessive warping in the boards.I did see one spot where 2 boards had lifted and I decided to go to the hardware store and put a couple of long screws in to try and pull it back down. I eventually left and on my way out I saw [redacted] walking his dog. I stopped my car next to him and explained what I had planned. Nothing I could say was acceptable for Mr. [redacted] . He interrupted me with an insult (usually involving profanity) each time I tried to explain why his deck was warping. Eventually I told him calmly that I was trying to help him but that he was being unreasonable and that I would not be coming back.He told me I was "a dumb a
s" and pointed at me and said "I have people that will handle you!" and he walked away saying things under his breath. This is the only time I have been threatened or even talked to in that manner. We have done the job as we promised we would. I stood behind the work and my company came back a few different times to resolve issues (1 was a legitimate mistake that we made and needed fixed, the others were pretty ridiculous). I have fielded his phone calls and emails promptly and have supported my work. The current condition of Mr. [redacted] 's deck is a result of his own negligence to stain or paint it and has nothing to do with our work. There is nothing more my company is prepared to do for Mr. [redacted] . Please see the following: [redacted] Please call me with any questions, thank you for your time.Ed M [redacted] 360 Services, LLC [redacted]

I had a wonderful experience dealing with this company The estimate was reasonable and the tile installers were very professional and excelled at their craft, The company owner checked the job both days and took an interest in the quality of the work A pleasure to deal with people who were on time, did their job beautifully and cleaned up when they were finishedBRAVO!

I have checked with other contractors and not one of them said they would nails in a deck. All decks are done with screws so you can replace a board if needed. They would make sure screws would go in joisgt not just put in board not hitting joisgt.[redacted]7/13/16
