First repair done poorly and returned. 2nd chance Repairs were not only poorly and improperly done but also resulted in additional damage to vehicle.
After visiting the shop in person to get an estimate on June 13,2013 for replacement and painting of the drivers door I agreed to pay approx. $750.00 for the repair and to drop the car off on Fri. June 14th and the repair would be done by Wed. June 19th.When I called on the 19th I was told it was not done but would be done the next day.Thurs. June 20th I went to pick up my car. I paid for it($750.00),I was given the keys and told the car was back behind the fence (no inspection). Upon arrival at work that day I inspected the car and was horrified by the results of the job they had done. I called the next day to tell the manager that there was several problems with the job.He advised me to bring it in and he would look at it.Upon returning to MAACO the manager agreed that the job needed to be redone and told me to call after the 4th of July weekend to get the car back in. I called as agreed and dropped the car back off at 9am Wed. July 10. I had typed out the 8 separate items that needed adjustment or repair and gave them to the manager:#1)door replaced has dents and a wavy surface #2)door has orange peel appearance #3)doors speaker either does not exist, does not work or not hooked up #4)door inner panel is pulling off at top rear of panel #5)door not hung correctly, does not close smoothly and has rubbing sound when driven #6) door lock not functioning, key does not lock or unlock door. #7)black paint at bottom of door is painted gloss black that does not match the flat black on front and rear fender. #8)Entire car has overspray on it,every horizontal surface. I also mentioned I was worried about the same individual who had done such a poor job the first time working on the car again. The manager told me there would be no problem with all 8 items on the list. he had originally said he needed it back for a day or two, I told him that there was no hurry as long as the repairs were being done right. On July 18th I called to see how the progress was coming. I was told by Scott he might have it done on Fri the 19th but most likely it would not be done till Monday July 22.I called on Monday and was told it would be ready the next day.Tuesday and Wednesday I called only to be told again it would be ready the next day.Thurs. July 25th, over 2 weeks had passed since I dropped my car off to have repairs made to the original repair, I was told it would be ready at 11am. I told manager I needed to be at work at 11am could I pick it up at 10:30am,he agreed he could have it done by then. 10:30am I arrive to see my car just then being pulled up into the clean up. At 11:05am (I am now late for work)the keys are flipped to me by the wash boy (with no inspection again from manager )and I rush off to end up half hour late for work. That evening after work 8:30pm I finally get to inspect the work done to my vehicle. What I found was very disturbing. While many of the items had actually been done, the following items were a glaring example of very poor workmanship : #1)The inner door panel problem had been addressed put putting a screw into the even more misaligned panel, the top of the panel protruded up enough so the inside of the panel could be seen from outside the car.#2)On the front nose of the vehicle there are deep sandpaper scratches approx. 12in by 4in area.#3)the rear bumper panel had a gouge about the size of a silver dollar left by the sloppy buffing job.#4) There is a fresh golfball sized dent and scratch in the rear quarter panel next to the door repair.#5)There is a 5inch long by1/8 inch fresh scratch in the roof, finally #6)the car is a mess with polishing compound on virtually all rubber and plastic surfaces. I called this morning July 26 at 8:15am extremely irritated and after voicing my complaints I asked to talk to the managers superior. I was told he was it and if you wanted to talk to someone above him I would have to call corporate. He then punctuated this by saying I should "call someone who cares" and then hung up on me.
