Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2014/08/14) */
I spoke with this customer on numerous occasionsAfter the first leak, which was caused from an Ice *** *** our repair man went out and fixed the section that was comprised from the ice damn*** called to tell me no one had been outI
verified with *** that he had been out and taken care of itThe first spot has not leaked since *** has been outThe first leak was not caused by anything we did wrongThe ice *** damaged a small flashing which we fixed for freeI have sent *** out for a second time for the second leakHe could not find anything wrong with the roofI have called *** multiple times trying to set up an inspectionHe is out of the country until the first week of September; I found this out after getting a hold of his wifeI am planning on going out to the house to find figure out where the second leak is the first week of SeptI am pretty sure it is not the roof as *** our repair man has already inspected the roofI am shocked that this complaint was filed due to the fact that we repair anything that is our responsibility, like the first leak, even though the ice *** caused the leak we fixed it for freeWhen an ice *** damages a roof system this is normally a repair that we would charge someone to fix, because *** is a valued customer we fixed it for freeIf the second leak is something to do with the roof we will fix itPlease keep this file open until I have been able to go to the house and figure what exactly is going on

Dear Ms*** ***
I disagree with ***'s statement
When the first leak appeared, the leak happened in the joint between the wall and the vaulted ceiling at a taped joint, damaging the tape joint and creating a vertical crack
I Called 3JM, a few days later *** called and came to inspect where the leak wasHe said he would send someone to fix the leakI requested him to notify me when this person would be comingI never heard from this repairman or from ***
I called *** back several timesI sent e-mails to 3JM*** called and stated the repairman had come and fixed the leakI told ***, that I need to know for sure, that I could not just take his word that someone has been in the roof
Later on, I found a new leak at the other side on the vaulted ceilingI called ***He said he would send someone to check itI again requested to be notifiedSince I did not hear from *** and after having no returned calls, I left a voice mail to *** that if I did not hear from him soon, I would file a complaint with the Revdex.com, no returned telephone calls........maybe he did not believed me
This complaint will never have happen had *** returned my calls and had his repairman notified us of the time he was coming
Yes, I have spoken with *** several times regarding the issue, as he states, he said that his repairman repaired the leak, but neither my wife or I were aware of any one climbing in the roof to repair the leak, we never heard any one walking in the roof and no one called us to give us a time the repairman would be thereNo one came to the door when they were there, no one left a note they have been there
Since we never knew if his serviceman came or not I told *** that I could not take his word for
Yes, we are out of town now*** called my wife and said he had left message on my phone; my wife explained she was out of town since July 8th, and I have been out the country since July 29th; we both will be home on September 1st*** told my wife he will come and see us the first week of September
Need to show either *** or his serviceman the location of the new leak and to be notified when the serviceman comes over to fix it
I do not understand what *** is talking about the reason for the leak not been anything they did wrong3JM totally replaced the complete roof
All that I am interested in is on getting these minor roof repairs in order for me to repair the inside drywall at the first leak location and repaint the wall and ceiling once and for all

* all called his home line and wife's cell phone numberThe complaint was filed due to him being upset that the leak had continuedAfter filing the complaint he reviewed his phone log and messages to see that we had been calling him and making every attempt to meet with himWe have gone over what the problem is with him and he has instructed us that he wants to retract his Revdex.com complaintHe has stated to us that you have received his retractionHe filed a complaint on 3JM thinking the roof we replaced was leaking, it is not the roof and it's his window3JM did not touch his window; we replaced his roof due to it being damaged from HailPlease follow up with this consumer, he will verify that he wants to retract this complaint as it was submitted on the wrong the company3JM did not do any work on the window that is leaking
This customer's roof was damaged by hail, it needed to be replacedHis insurance company agreed with our assessment and paid for a full replacementHis leak was present before we replaced the roofOur reps thought that the leak may be fixed
once the roof was replaced because there were some problem areas above the area that was leakingMr *** was very happy with our roof replacement
Once the leak formed again two of reps went out to try to figure out where it was coming inThey were unable to figure it out, so we sent one of our lead roofers to try to find itHe was able to find it, it is a window that is not something we were contracted to repairWe called Mr *** and his wife to schedule appoints numerous times without responseHe filed a Revdex.com complaint to try to get out of paying his remaining balanceThis is not a warranted complaint, Mr *** will confirm that he made this complaint by mistake and does not want this complaint going on our record
NOTE FROM THE Revdex.com:
We recommend that you have your roof inspected by a third party in an effort to determine the source of the leakOnce that has taken place please provide a copy of their report for our reviewThat copy may be attached or faxed to XXX-XXX-XXXX

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 15, 2015/02/20) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This statement ("We called Mr *** and his wife to schedule appoints numerous times without responseHe filed a Revdex.com complaint to try to get out of paying his remaining balance.") is misleading at best
As I discussed with the business, it is not and was not my intent to cause 'problems' for themIt was my expectation that by filing a complaint I would get some attention to the concerns I had raisedIt worked! About those numerous unreturned phone calls; I went back through my call logs and did find that there were TWO calls to & from a number I had mis-dialed when trying to returnI never tried to "get out of paying" a balanceIn fact, upon a visit by the general manager and a lead roofer, they agreed to provide a temporary "patch" around a window they identified as the likely causeI was simply awaiting their completion of that issue before releasing the final paymentFor the record, I sent in the final payment, which I had just received from the home owner's policy (State Farm) a few days prior to this response
"Very happy with our roof replacement"? I would say that is partial truthBefore the work began, I had contacted two roof inspectors; one being 3JMThe reason for the contact was solely due to a ceiling leak along an exterior wallThat was itI had no knowledge of hail damage at that time; I wanted the leak stoppedAs described throughout this post, that has not occurredIs it the "fault of" or due to "neglect" on the part of 3JM? Perhaps notBut to indicate that my concerns were due to my wanting to "get out of paying" is quite honestly, insultingThe GM did check the roof, and a window above the point of leak and pointed out a couple of his concerns about aging materials and weather-strained framingI can see where that may be a source or contributor to a leak situationBut again, going back to the whole purpose of having contacted 3JM and proceeding with work was to address that leak situation; and it is a bit aggravating that it took having a roof completely replaced and a subsequent filing of this Revdex.com complaint to get someone out here to say, "hey, the problem's not your roof, it's this here window"That is something that, in my non-professional opinion, should have been something inspectors from 3JM could and should have identified before recommending a full-roof replacement
I also had a discussion with the GM and lead roofer about not desiring to cause damage to the business's reputation and that my only intent was to get the issue addressedAlong those lines, I had said I would be willing to contact Revdex.com and revise my earlier complaintWhen I had searched the Revdex.com for my original post I found that it was not available so I suspected it was perhaps removed based on 3JM's original disagreement with my remarksBut now I see what appears to be an attempt to slander me and suggest that this whole matter was because I somehow wanted to pocket $3000? Ridiculous, insulting, and completely without meritI do not "need" the moneyI've paid the company, which was always my intent (they did the work after all)I am just not "very happy" with the experience, which I will not belabor any further

I have responded to this complaint and it is being reported that I have notI am sending this againThis customer tried to get out of paying his balance for work performedHe thought his roof was leaking after he had replaced it by 3jmWe sent out numerous people to assess the problemWe tried to schedule numerous appointments to go over the problemWe found that his window was leaking and not the roof
Please call *** at XXX- XXX-XXXX to confirm that this complaint was retracted
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 21, 2015/03/20) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The last response was receivedBut here again, "***" is trying to claim that "This customer tried to get out of paying his balance for work performed"This could not be further from the truth and is quite insultingSo add that to the list of issues trying to make the customer look like a petty thief essentially
So, yes, while I was agreeable to retracting the complaint, it seems that the response continues to be that I somehow just wanted to "get out of paying" amounts dueFalse
