before 1pm to inspect the material to see if it was caused by the cleaners. There are times where the material from the manufacture could be defective due to having too much dye causing it to penetrate through the layers, the material being out in the open where there is sunlight could of caused the discoloration, and etc. So please inform the customer to bring in the material Tue,Wed,or Fri so our specialist can take a better look. Thank you

I spoke to the Fabric Specialist at the dry cleaner and she attributed the damage to the dye running or the garment being exposed to the sun. Keep in mind the garment has previously been cleaned by these folks and there were no problems. I dropped off the garment on a Monday afternoon and picked it up on Wednesday afternoon. I found the problem on Thursday and returned the garment then. I am not sure when I would have had time to expose it to the sun. I discard this explanation. The following is a response from the manufacturer to my request for any problems they had encountered over the life of the garment.

Regarding our conversation today and your [redacted] Vest you purchased from us. We have not had any reported issues of bleeding with this item. It's a dry finish cotton Cover cloth fabric 2 ply by 2 ply and was treated with a water repellent and stain finish, industry standard. This would not have caused any bleed through unless not properly cared for. It washes out with every care.

Hopefully this will provide sufficient information to prove that neither exposure to the sun nor the dye running caused the problem. There is also an oily smear on the garment, I have difficulty believing that was caused by a dye bleed or exposure to the sun.
I still contend the dry cleaner damaged my garment and I still hold them responsible.
