- We are sorry about the delay fixing her cat. We knew for months that the electric company was moving the electric service to utility poles further away from the road. The plan had always been to move very early in the morning which would not affected our services at all. I do not know what...

changed but we are next-door to a day care that opens first thing in the morning and would have been left without electricity and parents would have gotten to work late. In the end, the electric company notified us, at the last minute, of a change in plans and that they were moving the electric lines and that our power would be off for up to 4 hours when we usually fix pets. While we can complete surgeries on emergency power, we are not going to start a new surgery when we know the power is going to be shut down. By the time that we received notice of the change, most of the pets had already arrived and those pets that arrived late were already on the road by the time we found out. Fortunately, everyone worked very carefully and diligently to get the majority the pets spayed or neutered, safely recovered, checked, fed and watered and before we had to shut down for the night. The next morning we called everyone whose pets were not completed and offered to return the pets and reschedule another appointment or to work them into the regular schedule and get them fixed as soon as possible. We told everyone that we would call when their pet was ready. Everyone at the clinic worked very hard to get the pets not done the night before finished and the pets scheduled for the new day done as soon as possible. Fortunately we were able to fix the vast majority of the pets byFriday afternoon. Unfortunately, this lady's cat was not completed. She did not wait for a phone call or to call to confirm that her cat's surgery was completed. On Saturday morning, she arrived and asked for a cat which was not done. She said that she was unable pick her cat up Saturday evening so we fixed her cat Saturday and then boarded her cat without charge on Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, she picked up a perfectly healthy properly spayed cat. While we regret she had to make an extra trip and wait for her cat, we cannot control the electric company and are not willing to operate on emergency power. On a normal night we would have had time to fix each pet scheduled. We safely and carefully cared for every pet and returned him or her to the owners as soon as possible all at a very affordable fee. We are sorry this incident happened but unfortunately, a little rain and a little adversity will fall into our lives from time to time.
