4042 Motors Reviews (8)

I bought a car from them. They lied to me financially and I ended up having to replace almost entire engine eight months later. I bought a 2005 Honda civic on Jan 24, 2013 for $10,692.20 and paying $1,220 for warranty. I put $2,000 of down payment. I got a loan of $144.87/month. They said they would move my warranty level from Standard to Comprehensive. They never did. I paid an additional $300 for them to change the water pump and timing belt. One month later the battery dies. In July the car started over heating. Took it to many auto shops, nobody knew what was causing it to overheat. Now I am having to put coolant in it every time before I drive further than 30 minutes praying it won't overheat. I chose this car because I travel a lot and it's good on gas mileage. I also couldn't afford anything more expensive. On September 14, 2013 I put coolant in my car like normal before I drive. I was traveling from Charlottesville, Virginia back home to Clayton, NC. 50 minutes into the drive, my car overheat and broke down around 8:30pm in Richmond Virginia, 3.5 hours from home with no family or friends in the area to help me. The unreliable car, that the owner of 4042 Motors, [redacted], promised to be in good condition and supposedly had a maintenance done and check up put me in danger. On October 6, 2013 my car was put into a trusted, reliable shop, [redacted] in Ohio to get a good look at what the problem was. Turns out a lot of damage was done and needed replaced. [redacted] replaced the Cylinder Head Gasket set ($284.84), Cylinder Head bolt ($37.02), Timing Component Kit and Water Pump ($153.13), Oil Strainer Gasket ($21.74), Lower Radiator Hose ($15.50) 4 Spark Plugs ($40.56) and Coolant Temp Sensor ($38.21). Plus had to put 2 new jugs of Antifreeze (31.98) and change the Oil ($15.96)in it - which is just normal car maintenance. Because my warranty was not pushed up like I was told, not everything was covered. The total, with labor, shop supplies and sales tax included is $1,119.70. The warranty only covered $647.78. I'm sure there are other cars on the lot that are in the same condition my car was in. They are putting a bad product out. Desired SettlementIdeally, I would like my $300 refunded that I paid for them to replace my timing belt and water pump. Because we had to replace it anyways on October 8, 2013. I just want future buyers to be aware of the horrible, defective product 4042 Motors is putting out there. They will tell you the car is in great shape, their mechanics did a check up and nothing was done. Just want people to watch out if they buy a car there. Now, I am having to pay more for the car than I can afford. live and learn. Final Consumer Response /[redacted]/I made a mistake by filing this complaint on 4042 Motors. I regret my complaint as it was out of emotion and not all accurate. They are a great car dealership with faithful employees. This was my first car I bought on my own on a tight budget. Any car, new or used, is unpredictable and 4042 Motors didn't do anything wrong. Yes, the used car I bought already had 120,000 miles on it at sale and needed a head gasket eight months later. Not 4042 Motors fault. Before it started acting up I drove it to and from Ohio twice with no problems. I got a warranty from the dealership that covered the main expenses. As I requested, they did do a maintainance check and changed the timing belt and water pump before they sold it to me. I am not asking anything from them, as they did nothing wrong. 4042 Motors does a great job and are honest! I would buy from them again!

My complaint involves the service in which I was given. I have been lied to several times in regards to repairs to my vehicle. Purchased on 4/29/14.I purchased a [redacted] from 40/42 motors on April 29, 2014. At the time, the people at the dealership were very friendly and helpful. Their "No Haggle" sales technique was ideal. I test drove the car and asked about certain concerns I had relating to the car and was promised everything would be taken care of with no problems. The issues, were the brake pads, tremble in the wheel when stopping, plastic coverings in front of tires hanging, touch up paint on the driver side mirrorand underneath the vehicle a plastic piece was hanging and finally the wood grain strip on the driver side door being replaced. [redacted] told me prior to buying the car that the brakes had already been replaced and that the noise I was hearing was heard by the mechanics at their shop and they knew it couldn't be the brake pads, but he would get them to check it again anyway just to be sure. [redacted] the salesman told me everything I was concerned about would be done with no problem. When I arrived to sign papers, I was told the wood grain piece had been ordered (the financial rep showed me on the computer via [redacted]) and to bring the car back the following week for all the repairs to be completed. I brought the car back and was told the brakes had been replaced but the wood grain strip hadn't arrived. I told [redacted] that the plastic coverings were still hanging and he told me once I brought it back all of it would be taken care of. A week later, no wood grain strip and nothing else repaired. At this point [redacted] tells me the shop lost the wood grain strip. He has had to order another one. This is going into the second week. The third week of having the car the engine light came on and the car began driving weird, it began drinking gas. I immediately called [redacted] and he told me to bring the car in, because my wood grain strip had come in anyway. What I didn't tell him, is that I took the car to a shop and had it put on the machine, so I knew what was wrong with it. He told me to call the shop myself and talk with some lady named [redacted] at the shop. I called twice and after getting the voice mail several times over the weekend I called back on Tuesday and [redacted] told me to bring the car. When I left the car, he told me call him the next day and he would have everything taken care of. I didn't called the next day, trying to give them extra time. I called today and he couldn't tell me anything that was done to the car. All he knew is that the engine light was off but the wood grain strip still hadn't come in. I have called the shop several times. I spoke to [redacted] again and he told me to talk to [redacted] the general manager, which is confusing because he had said at one point he was the manager. He told me to call back in 5 minutes. I called back and [redacted] answers the phone and said [redacted] was with a customer, I demand to speak with him. After 7 minutes on hold on the phone, the phone disconnects. I call back twice and the salesmen hangs up. I call a third time and someone named [redacted] answers the phone and tell me he's busy and wouldn't be able to come to the phone. I told him I needed a phone call by tonight or my lawyer and I would be there tomorrow. No phone call again tonight. I have been patient with these guys and this is how they treat a customer. I gave them a check for almost $15,000 for my car and this is how they treat their customers. This is ridiculous. I was fooled by their nice guy technique. They will promise you anything to get the sale. It was no problem to talk to someone prior to the sale. After the sale they forget they ever did business with you. This has been a terrible experience. A month later I am paying for a car that has brought me nothing more than a headache. I know it was not brand new off the showroom floor but it was new to me and I was proud of the purchase.Desired SettlementThis is in no way a retaliation. I simply want my money back or what I was promised. I have my contract stating what was to be done. They could have taken it to a dealership as a courtesy to get the situation rectified. Business Response It took us time to respond to this issue due to having to wait for the [redacted] dealership to get the parts that were on national backorder due to the recall of this particular vehicle. This car has been repaired to the customers satisfaction and has been resolved at this time.

Extremely rude, [redacted], the sales manager acted like he was doing us a favor by purchasing the car from him. Rushing us to purchase the car. I am so upset about this place and the gentleman [redacted] who was extremely rude and nasty towards myself and fiance on the day we came to pick up our vehicle we purchased. When we arrived he was sitting outside under a tent. We puled up to check over the vehicle was detailed and ready to go. I noticed a plug on the sidewall of the front tire, which is illegal to do in NC. I mentioned it to him and he quickly got on the defensive and said the price would not change, the car was as is, and in his words, "if you dont want the vehicle, let me know, cause someone else will want it". With that being said , I replied, "why are you being so rude? It seems as though you dont want me buying the car". We then asked to test drive it, to make sure there were no issues. He then asked with an attitude, well how long are you going to be cause im leaving in 20 minutes. I said just up the road, we'll be right back. The test drive went well, and we arrived back at the dealership. The day before that I asked [redacted] about purchasing an extended warranty, and he said when I come tomorrow to pick up the vehicle, speak to the finance manager. We returned back from the test drive, got out and [redacted] was there saying how was it... mmy fiance said it ran decent. He continued to say ok well Im leaving so lets go in and get this done. Although it was a hard sell, due to credit issues, we were approved, and the bank requested utility bill and 2 current pay stubs...no problem. When we went inside, still feeling extremely rushed, I sat down at [redacted] desk handed him the paperwork, and he went on to state he needed 6 references which the bank had never told us...otherwise we would have brought it with us along with the other papers. I had no problem with the references , but the way he was speaking down to me as if he was doing me a favor by selling this vehicle to me was extremely unprofessional and demeaning. At this point I was ready to pay him and discuss which extended warranty I wanted. He snapped at me and said there is no extended warranty, it was only cash. I cannot describe in words here, how this man made me and my fiance feel. As a 50 year old man, I expected a professional atmosphere, just like the other places we went looking for cars. This mans attitude and demeanor changed from the minute I noticed and pointed out the tire plug. He knew it would not pass inspection and obviously did not want to put anymore money into this vehicle. I noticed it where a woman or maybe a senior would not, and I think that irritated him, not to mention he obviously did NOT want to be there and wanted to leave. I would never recommend this place 4042 motors, and pass it right by. They could care less about their clients.Desired SettlementI would like the owner of the business to explain to me why he would allow this gentleman to treat his customers like this and what he intends on doing. I dont know but [redacted] could very well be the owner.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted] GMContact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX4042 Motors would like to apologize for any poor customer service issues you experienced. That is not how we do business and the salesman involved has been reprimanded and will be terminated if this ever happens again. There is no excuse for his actions but it was a holiday weekend and many of us had family obligations later that day. After the Friday appointment was missed we scheduled a 12:00 appointment on Saturday so we could have plenty of time to see, drive and discuss all purchasing options for the vehicle. We do not like to sell vehicles without a warranty, but unfortunately our subprime lenders, many times will not advance enough in the loan for it. On this particular deal, we had to discount our vehicle $1000 and pay another $700 dollar bank fee or we would have loved to put a warranty on it. I hope you understand the unusual situation and are willing to forgive. If you are still interested in the car I will give you a 90 day warranty and replace the tire. I have tried to call you but there was no voicemail. Please call me when you get a minute. Once again we are truly sorry.

Complaint2005 F250 purchased was falsely advertised as being mechanically sound after their mechanic inspected it. I purchased a 2005 F250 from 4042 Motors on September 26, 2014. I was told this vehicle was inspected thoroughly by their mechanic they had put new brake pads on the truck. After leaving the dealer, 30 minutes down the road the truck began to shake uncontrollably in the rear end. Called the dealer immediately and was told it might be due to a warped rotor but to keep the vehicle over the weekend and call them back on Monday. The left rear brake rotor over heated due to a warped rotor and frozen caliper after 1 hour of driving nearly causing a fire. After I inspected it, I found the left and rear rotors to be severely worn down and both of them to be warped. The left rear brake pads that were new were completely chewed up by the rotor. I contacted [redacted] at 4042 Motors about the issues found and he stated he would talk to his manager to see what they could do. Several emails and phone calls later and I only received the runaround from 4040 Motors. After spending over $1100 on new rotors, brake pads and calipers for all four wheels to eliminate the safety concerns on this truck, the dealer stated they would possibly help out with the costs this passed Tuesday. They were to call me on Wednesday with a resolution but failed to call me back and all my attempts at contacting them again have resulted in silence from them. Bottom-line here is this dealer said their mechanic inspected this truck and it was mechanically sound yet less than an hour after I drive it off the lot it nearly caught on fire due to bad rotors and calipers that they had to obviously check when they put on new brake pads. At the very least 4042 motors should pay the $1100 for repair costs for a truck they promised me was mechanically sound when I agreed to purchase it.Desired SettlementI am requesting the $1100 I've had to spend to replace the rotors, pads and calipers to render it safe for driving. Business Response /[redacted]/We at 4042 Motors inspect and service every vehicle we sell. The state of North Carolina requires us to sell every vehicle as-is, however we do offer a 3rd party 90 day/ 4500 mile warranty if the vehicle is sold at our asking price. The customer required us to discount our vehicle $2500 in order to purchase it. The customer was aware that there was no warranty and was offered to purchase an extended 2 year warranty at the time of financing. Consumer Response /[redacted]/4042 Motors did not offer a $2500 discount to purchase this vehicle. I put down $4000 as downpayment to get the sale price where it needed to be for purchase. They inspected the vehicle, saw the brake rotors and calipers needed to be replaced and opted to cover up the problem by putting on new brake pads knowing the bigger problem wouldn't be revealed until after the brakes had been warmed up on the drive home. This is one shady car dealer so avoid them at all costs.Final Business Response /[redacted]/When Mr. [redacted] purchased the truck, he had to have a $200 payment and not a dollar more. The truck was sold below cost and Mr. [redacted] was told that we could not fix or pay for anything else at that price. He agreed in order to get the price to make his payment $200. He has not done what he agreed to so here we are and without anything in writing on a legal contract, I do not believe anything Mr. [redacted] says about removing the slander or future actions. we can fax a quit claim to him and send his father the check once he his met his obligations.Final Consumer Response /[redacted]/(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)In order for there to be an agreement, both parties would need to actually agree to the terms. I stated I would NOT sign anything and would remove the factual statements I posted online provided that 4042 motors contacted me directly via email. No contact to resolve the complaint then I see no reason to remove anything at this point and trust that 4042 motors would actually follow through with their end of the agreement. At this point, why would I trust a company that knowingly sold me a truck with faulty brakes. No, they need to make the first concession here and Mail the check to my Father, then when I know it has been received and cashed, I will remove all online postings. If that is not acceptable, then the complaint will stand as is. I'm done communicating through the Revdex.com website. 4042 motors has my contact information if they wish to truly resolve this complaint.

I purchased a 2007 Cadillac from 4042 motors on June 16, 2014. My check engine light came on 1 day later and has been in the shop 3 times in the monthI purchased a 2007 Cadillac Escalade from 4042 Motors LLC on June 16, 2014. My check engine light came on the next day. I put truck in the shop on June 23. They had to replace under hood fuse box. I had to have tires resealed because they were leaking air around the rims and replace door handle. On July 7 I had to put the truck in the shop again to have oil sensor and throttle body sensor replaced. They also had to fix and reroute open wires near the driveshaft. The warranty they sold me paid for nothing. On July 9, I had to put the truck back in the shop this time they had to replace the ECM again the warranty did not cover this either. The Cadillac technician did not know how this truck was even running when I brought it. All this stuff should have been caught by 4042 motors before selling this vehicle. When I tried to call and explain that I have not even had the vehicle a month and they needed to fix or help me they basically told me I was on my own and t was my truck and problem nowDesired SettlementI am seeking a refund for the money I spent for the sensors and wiring which was $909.00 and for the ECM that was replaced at $530.00. This vehicle should have never been sold and advertised as emmaculate without probably being checked by a certified machanic. Cadillac technicians said there was no way this stuff could have been missed if the truck was checked properly. Business Response At the point of sale the customer was happy with the vehicle and the vehicle drove great. There is no telling what happened after the sale to have all these problems occur. It seems that the issue is between the customer and the warranty company and not with 4042 Motors.

I purchased a Lincoln Navigator 2005 from this business and I've had numerous problems with this vehicle since it was brought in August 2014 I brought a Lincoln Navigator 2005 from you guys back in August 2014. I have to say that I am very disappointed in this vehicle and the service I've received regarding this SUV. One day after I got the truck... The reverse lights came on even while driving this truck in drive and I eventually had to have the bulbs removed as this was a big distraction for drivers that were driving behind me. 2 weeks ago.. The Transmission sensor when bad and it had to be replace (282.00) fix by All Lube and Tube on Capital Blvd. Last week the AdvanceTrac and engine light came on... The truck would not start nor go into gear and had to be repaired. 2 days later the truck would not crank.. had to have it towed to the Mechanic and they told me that the engine is completely shot. Motor needs to be replaced. 3,400.00 for a reburshied motor and 1000.00 in labor. I am beyond beliefDesired SettlementI would like to have this vehicle repaired by the dealership as I still owe over 13,000 dollars in finance charges to [redacted]Business Response /[redacted]/I'm sorry that this happened, unfortunately the vehicle was purchased 7 months ago and the state of NC requires dealers to sell vehicles "As Is". Purchasing a used vehicle is a calculated risk and these risks must be considered before the purchase, especially on high mileage, high line vehicles. We do offer every customer the opportunity to purchase an extended warranty, which would have clearly resolved this issue. We regret any inconveniences. Consumer Response /[redacted]/I had to take out an additional loan for 2,500.00 tohave the engine repaired. I will totally satisfied if the replacement engine is in working in conditions and if the truck drives as it did when I drove it off the lot 7 months ago. I will remove this item from web and be satisfied if this truck can provide me reliable transportation throughout the duration of my financing of this vehicle. A 8 Cylinder Ford engine shouldn't go bad with under 100,000 miles on it. I've own 2 Expeditions and 1 Ford Explorer and was able to drive those cars until the mileage was well over 200,000 with proper care and maintenance. I know that these happen with older vehicle but Engine or Transmission replacement with that low mileage just doesn't seem right to me. I am simply trying to protect my investment, protect my credit standing and do what any customer would do in the situation. I appreciate the Finance company stepping in and assisting me with additional funds even though it's costing me even more money to get back on the road. I want this to work out for all parties involved. I am trying very hard to honor my obligations here and hope 4042 Motors will do the me good on this one. Respectfully, Final Consumer Response /[redacted]/I've taken out an additional loan and contributed 1000.00 cash to have the truck repaired. My vehicle is currently with the 4042 Motors and I am awaiting a replacement engine. Truck was towed to their repair facility on 3-6-2015. I am awaiting repair as of 3/23/2015. I will close out this case once I received my vehicle back in good running condition. I am hopeful for a good outcome and just want to move forward as this has cause a major inconvenience and financial hardship on myself and my family. Thanks you.

Salesman lied about submission of application when specifically requested to go to certain companies I've worked withOn December 18,2014 this company was supposed to put an application through to [redacted] for a truck, as I spoke with [redacted] representative and they said they would finance me. Found out not only did they never submit it to them, but they were also not willing to give me what my trade in was worth according to the NADA book value. The representative, [redacted], told me YES they had submitted it, but lied about it even after telling me they could not finance me! On 1/7/2015 I requested through [redacted] That a truck be financed through [redacted] He promised me it would be, and even spoke to a rep there. He said he would give me the full $3,000 for the truck (before, [redacted] didn't want to give me $1500) and said he would ONLY put it through to [redacted] Come to find out the next day from [redacted] again, then through the finance officer himself, they went back through the original company that approved me before that wanted $3,500 on top of truck trade in!! I told them what [redacted] said and the finance officer said "well that didn't happen" in a nasty tone and proceeded to tell me that "we don't deal with [redacted] We signed up with them but don't use them". Upon calling [redacted] at [redacted] she said no, they DO deal with 40/42 Motors, and the guy lied to us... And sent us a list of companies they deal with. Right on that list is 40/42 Motors!! She said they would have financed that truck we are wanting with no problems. So now this company is screwing around with my credit and I don't appreciate that or being lied to now twice!! I think this place is shady and wants money in their pockets.Desired SettlementStop taking things upon themselves when a customer has a specific request. I was told the truck I want was just taken in by the company with no issues, then the finance guy said it has issues so I don't know who to believe. I wanted financing on a vehicle and wanted them to put it through the one and only company I requested to go through WITHOUT being given hassle!Business Response /[redacted]/Mr. [redacted] submitted a credit application through our online application with his electronic signature authorizing 4042 motors to submit his application to lenders for approval. He has never been to the store and we have never seen his trade in. we estimated a value for his trade in using NADA average trade in minus all the repairs Mr. [redacted] said it needed. Once again, we have never seen his trade in. He was approved from several lenders but only for vehicles under 200,000 miles and 30% down including the trade in, both vehicles had over 200,00 miles. We are transitioning from [redacted] dealer portal to dealer track so we do not have access to [redacted] until today or tomorrow. [redacted] has the highest rates and fees for the customers so we don't use them as much as other lenders. We want to do what's best for the customer. No one at 4042 motors has lied Mr. [redacted]. We have only done everything he has asked us to do, within our means.

Was told upon purchase to turn tag into DMV and new ones would arrive in the mail. Told 3 business days before tags expired, I had to handle it.My husband and I purchased a 2009 Infiniti FX35 from 4020 Motors on Saturday, April 9, 2016 (Stock No. [redacted] My husband had been speaking to [redacted] the week leading up to April 8 regarding driving 2 hours out of state to Garner, NC to test drive this vehicle and possibly purchase it. We were told that the car was in perfect condition. Upon arriving on April 9, we noticed that the vehicle had 2 different types of tires; 2 Fortegra and 2 Michelin. The pictures that were listed on the website were misleading because the close of up the tires only portrayed it to have Michelin tires. We asked if they would be willing to switch the tires out with a matching set, and they said that they couldn't afford to lose money on a vehicle that they had to cut so drastically to sale. Before signing the paperwork, we specifically asked [redacted] about the tag situation with this vehicle since we were purchasing a car from North Carolina and lived in South Carolina. I asked if I could transfer my tags and [redacted] told me that this was not possible. He told us that we needed to turn the old tag into the DMV and that the new tags would arrive in the mail. We were charged on the bill of sale $89.00 a license and registration fee. We specifically made sure to ask if the plates would be taken care of since we did not know how the process worked with handling tags with an out of state purchase and was reassured by the salesman it would be handled. We were told that if we did not receive our tags within a week of the expiration date, to call back. Also before signing the paperwork, we talked to [redacted] about the process of them paying off my 2010 Ford Escape that I had traded in on the purchase. We owed $7,554.60 on the Escape when we traded it in. [redacted] said that they would handle paying off my lien with[redacted]. He also said if we had a payment coming up soon to take it off bank draft. The due date was 4/10, and we asked if we should just go ahead and pay it so that it would not be late and was assured it would be paid off promptly. A few weeks go by, we start receiving phone calls from the bank saying the Escape payment was almost 30 days past due. We tried e-mailing the dealership inquiring about the tags/payoff situation, but they did not e-mail us back. My e-mails were promptly returned before I purchased the vehicle and right after the purchase when they needed a form transferring the title to them, signed and notarized, and sent back to them. I called[redacted] 4/3 and they said they had no record of a payoff check. I also called the dealership on 4/3 but was told to call [redacted] at 8:30 the next day. On 4/4 my husband spoke to [redacted] before I did, and she informed him we had to handle the tags on our own. I did not understand this since we paid the fee, so I called back. I spoke with [redacted] at first and he told me that my tags were coming in the mail before [redacted] overheard him and took over the call. I was a little upset by this point because I felt like we were taking advantage of because they had listed the Escape on their lot for $11,995 and allowed my loan to nearly become delinquent. They said this was due to the owner being out of the office for several weeks. After going around and around with [redacted], I never got a clear answer to the tag situation. I finally got fed up with the phone call after overhearing her and [redacted] mocking me over the phone, that I asked if I could have something in legal writing stating my loan would be paid off by Friday 5/6/16. She said she could mail me the receipt, and I asked for it to be overnighted which she agreed to sarcastically. They paid off the loan but never mailed a receipt. I had to take off a personal day from work in order to straighten out the tag situation. I was told by the DMV that I could have easily transferred the tags from the old vehicle to the new one. I had to pay a fee of 24.00 for a new tag. By far, this was the most unpleasant car buying experience regarding salesmanship and honesty.Desired SettlementI would like to be reimbursed the $113 fees that I incurred due to the negligence of the sales staff at 4042 Motors. I was charged $24 for a new tag that I did not have to purchase. I could have easily did the paper work to transfer the tag myself. [redacted] informed us to turn the tag into the DMV because we would be getting new tags in the mail. I also specifically asked if we could transfer the tags and he told me no. When I spoke to the woman at the DMV, she said that I could have easily transferred the tags. When I went to pay the property tax on the vehicle at the Treasurer's Office, the woman told me that I should get a refund for the $89.00 fee that was charged to me during the process of signing to buy the vehicle because I was doing all the paperwork that the $89 fee should have been charged for in the first place. I was also told that my tags would be handled numerous times throughout the buy process which was clearly an inaccurate statement. The fee clearly stated License and Registration total and none of this was taken care of. I also do not appreciate being told one thing by [redacted] and then loudly hearing another woman in the background telling[redacted] he could not tell me my tags were covered and then having to talk to [redacted]. They were very rude to the point of mocking me by the end of the phone conversation and never once showed any short of regret due to their malpractice. This was by far the most horrible car buying process my husband or I have ever experienced, and we have bought and traded 8 cars over our lifetime and never had these issues.Business Response First, allow our dealership to apologize for any unpleasant experiences our valued customer has experienced while shopping for a reliable car at a reasonable price at our dealership.Next, we will address the first issue of the tags or license plates. It is not customary for our dealership to "transfer" tags because we have an obligation to our lenders to perfect the lien, in other words we have an obligation to prove they are recorded on the lien as lien holder. If there are any problems with DMV and the customer which does not allow us to get the title to the lien holder, we are out of compliance and have to pay off the lien and could possibly lose them as a lender in the future. The easiest way to avoid these type circumstances is to process the title work and get the customer a new license plate. When processing out of state title work there are some things the customers are responsible for and they are made aware of these things at the signing of the contracts. One of which is to provide a "PAID" vehicle tax receipt to SC DMV in order for DMV to release the tag and mail to the customer. If this is not done in a timely matter DMV will process the title work as "title only". (See Attached) The fee of $89 covers the $24 fee for SC; it is included in the License and Registration Fee that has been brought into question. We apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused due to paying off the traded in vehicle later than expected due to unforeseen circumstances. In regards to the customers desired resolution, we will refund her the $50 overpayment for her DMV title work and $100 for any anguish this may have caused them.Consumer Response The general manager of the the company got into contact with my husband apologizing for the company's actions on 5/11/16 and informed him he was mailing us a check to settle the tag fees. Everything with this complaint will be settled once the company follows through on their word. Final Consumer Response
