Review: I purchased what was offered as an O.E.M. driver's side (steering wheel)airbag for a 2008 Chevrolet HHR SS.I am an Auto Body Repairman & needed it to complete a repair.Upon receipt of the airbag, I discovered that it was not an O.E.M. HHR SS airbag, but a counterfeit. Someone had taken a standard HHR airbag, had disassembled it & placed a fabricated "SS" emblem in the center, painted the airbag cover black, & reassembled it.I immediately brought this to the attention of [redacted], who I corresponded with before the purchase. She told me to ship the airbag back & I would receive a full refund. The airbag arrived at their address on 6/28/13, verified by UPS Delivery Confirmation. I contacted [redacted] when I did not see the credit in my [redacted] account at the end of the day Monday 7/1/13. She informed me that the person who issues credits was on vacation until Wed, 7/3/13, but the credit information would be on her desk and a credit would be issued on 7/3/13. As of 7/5/13, 5 P.M. the credit has not been received.I have email correspondence I can forward confirming my claim, as well as detaied photos showing evidence of tampering on the airbag. On their website, this company claims:"We sell only original OEM airbags. We do not repack, refurbish, or remanufacturer the original product."Desired Settlement: I want an immediate refund, as well as the return shipping cost of $23.92 which is documented on a UPS receipt I can provide if needed.

Dear Revdex.com,
489 parts, LLC has been in business 15 years. We have never received a complaint via Revdex.com or any other outlet. I am responding to complaint ID number [redacted]. The customer placed an order from us via our toll free number.
We sell USED OEM airbags and parts. This means that they are not new. They may have scratches, color variances, and other imperfections due to the fact that they are not BRAND new parts. It is stated on our website that we sell used parts.
The airbag was in NO way a counterfeit item. We strictly sell OEM. This customer has also filed the same claim with another vendor. He is claiming the same exact problem. This in itself is a red flag to us. Many people try to "scam us" for free or reduced prices on our items. We sell very high dollar items and it does happen. I would be glad to forward the name and address of the other vendor he has put a claim in with your organization.
[redacted] did call regarding credit. Our credit and collections employee was on vacation. He was issued the refund upon her return. I did check and it has cleared our bank.
It is a shame in this day and age that people pull this kind of fraud.
If you need any other information, please don't hesitate to contact us. I would be more than happy to send you the credit refund receipt.

I am rejecting this response because:
The other vendor they refer to, sold me the exact same airbag in April of this year. I flied a complaint with [redacted] & received a refund and sent the airbag back to the vendor. 489 parts purchased that airbag from the same vendor, and sold it to me. 489 parts told me they had the airbag in stock, which was a lie. I am not trying to defraud anyone. If anyone is perpetrating fraud, it is 489 parts. 489 parts sold me a fraudulent replica of an OEM airbag for a 2008 Chevrolet HHR SS. it had been disassembled, repainted, modified & reassembled. The safety issues of a modified automotive airbag alone are very disturbing. 489 parts is claiming fraud to cover their careless business practices. It is evident that they buy parts from unscrupulous vendors and resell them without inspection. I am also pursuing
recourse through the Federal Department of Transportation regarding the safety of automobile airbags that have been modified and sold to unsuspecting consumers. Using these modified airbags could potentially have deadly consequences. Furthermore, 489 parts should know that shipping airbags without using explosion-proof containers, is a violation of federal law.
