On March 22, I purchased for $+ tax a Cavalier King Charles Puppy from Maria ***- the owner of 4PuppyPawsMaria *** provided me with a document to sign that stated the following: " TRANSIENT COUGH NOTIFICATION I have been advised that this puppy has a transient coughIt will resolve on it's own with no medication requiredIt has been requested that we take our new puppy to our Veterinarian to confirm this diagnosis." I signed the document "*** ***" and dated it "3-22-2016" On March I took this puppy to my Vet, *** *** Veterinary ClinicThe "transient cough" had progressed to a worse coughMy Vet performed bloodwork, a CBC and took chest xrays of the puppyThe CBC showed an elevated white blood cell count indicating an infectionThe chest xrays showed a large amount of fluid in the puppy's lungsThe puppy was diagnosed by my Vet with Bacterial PneumoniaMy Vet explained that this puppy started with a viral infection that progressed into Bacterial

Maria and Charles Wendt, dba McPuppy.com, advertised the sale of a Teddy Bear (Shih Tzu/Bichon) puppy of their residence in Waldorf, MN
In March 2015, I went to their house and my lungs burned from the ammonia stenchI purchased what was presented to me as a “Teddy Bear” puppy Mcpuppy
In April I called Mcpuppy to inquire about the puppy sheddingShe insisted the dog she sold me was a Teddy Bear, as she saw the puppy’s parentsShe asked if I changed foods, I said noShe suggested I try different nutritious treats when rewarding himWe had a gut-feeling based on behavior/temperament that our puppy wasn’t what we thoughtBy the way, McPuppy feeds her dogs (grain as the first ingredient) food from Menards I have since changed the puppy’s diet to (meat as the first ingredient) purchased from a local pet store
In June I hired a dog trainer to come to my home to help with the puppy’s high-strung, strong-willed temperI also had a blood drawn DNA test conducted
In September 2015, I received the DNA test results and found out my puppy is NOT a Teddy Bear (Shih Tzu, Bichon), he is part Yorkshire Terrior, Shih Tzu, AND an unknown mixed breedThis explains the shedding! I contacted Mcopuppy to tell her she didn’t sell me a Teddy Bear, but rather an unknown mixed breedShe stated that I had to return the dog if I wanted my money backI told her I couldn't do that after months of bondingI paid $(but have an additional $in vet bills, immunizations, neutering, preventative meds, etc.) for what I thought was a mix of two purebreds recognized by the AKAMcpuppy refused to work with me, so I told her I had no other choice than to file papers in court for her fraudulent sale She stated, "That is your prerogative, as it will be for me to file a counter suit I will be awaiting the court documents."
In December and January 2016, I went to court asking for my money back, due to the fraudulent sale Mcpuppy madeThe judge ordered that they pay me a sum of money (btw, the judge did not honor her counter suit)
The judge ordered her to pay and they now have a judgement against them because of not following the court’s orderAt the time of purchase, their business was McPuppy.comAt the time of purchase, their business (of ten years according to a statement made in court by Mcpuppy) was called McPuppy.com Days after appearing in court, they have since changed the name of their business to 4PuppyPaws.com
Buyers Beware! Do your research, I am not the only person to not recommend purchasing from them

I bought a puppy from McPuppy.com in after a friend had a good experience with themIt was clear to me the dogs she sells are not treated well and I believe the puppy I bought had never seen grass before I bought himMy gut told me to turn and walk away when I saw how the dogs livedI did not and bought a "***-a-poo" which I think is not actually a ***-a-pooHe is not right in the head but we do love him anywaysDo not support this "breeder"They should not be allowed to sell dogsI should have not purchased a dog from them, I did because I felt sorry for the dog

I am rejecting this response because this UNLICENSED HOME BREEDER OF DOGS IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY AND NOT A REPUTABLE BREEDERShe sold me a dog with what she described as a "transient cough"That became pneumoniaThe breeders claim that my Vet did not diagnose the puppy with Pneumonia is
wrong- my puppy was diagnosed and treated with antibiotics to treat pneumoniaAccording to my Veterinarian the term "Transient cough" is a misnomer- there is always a reason for a coughMy Veterinarian is reputable and did not perform any excessive testsThe Xrays that showed a large amount of congestion in the lungs that had developed in less than a week confirms to any reasonable person that the puppy I was sold had a health issue when I took delivery of him and she misled me with her "Transient Cough" paperworkMy Vet was worried that what he heard when listening to my puppies chest could be a sign of congenital heart defectMy vet has NOT ruled out that a heart defect is present- that will be determined with future testingMy mistake was believing this home breeder when she explained that the cough was and would require no medication or medical interventionIt did require BOTH medication and medical interventionThis breeder is not to be trustedThe virus my puppy was suffering from when I bought him home became an issue that cost me time and moneyThe fact of this matter is that my puppy came home with a cough that the home breeder knew about and that cough progressed and had to be treatedI WOULD SUGGEST GREAT CAUTION TO ANY PERSON CONSIDERING AN ADOPTION FROM THIS UNLICENSED BREEDER- DO WHAT I SHOULD HAVE DONE AND SPEND A LITTLE MORE MONEY TO HAVE THE PEACE OF MIND OF KNOWING THAT YOUR PUPPY COMES FROM A RESPONSIBLE AND LICENSED BREEDER THAT STANDS BEHIND THE HEALTH OF THE DOG YOU ARE BEING SOLD. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:On 4-12-I took the puppy I purchased from Maria of 4PuppyPaws for a follow up visit to my Veterinarian at *** *** Veterinary Clinic, Battle Creek, MI Follow up blood work was performed (CBC) which showed that although the white blood cell count has improved it was not yet normalThis is indicative of an infection that has been allowed to go too long without treatmentI CONFIRMED with my Vet -THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A TRANSIENT COUGHThe paperwork Maria of 4PuppyPaws had me sign about a Transient Cough is misleadingMy Vet- A professional- stated that ANY cough is a symptomMy Vet further stated that he has dealt with breeders for many years and has NEVER heard of a reputable breeder using the term TRANSIENT CoughAnother round of X-rays was performed and the X-rays showed that although the lung congestion(fluid) was clearing that the past days of antibiotics was not enough to get this puppy back to a healthy statusAnother round of antibiotics and another visit in weeks are necessaryAS OF NOW MY COST TO CURE THIS SICK PUPPY IS OVER $300.00. Let me state clearly that my Vet is a reputable vet who does not perform needless tests and his fees are very reasonableThe CBC was $Follow up XRays were a total of $at this visit because my Vet gives a financial break to clients who have to make numerous trips and go through numerous tests in order to ensure the health of their petAdditional Meds are $and because of the loose stools the antibiotics cause we purchased Fortiflora - count- for $In two weeks I will return to my Vet and hope that my puppy will have been returned to full healthIN CLOSING: My Vet and I are now completely convinced that the level of lung congestion this puppy has suffered began before I picked the puppy up from 4PuppyPaws and that the TRANSIENT COUGH statement that 4PuppyPaws utilizes is misleading and not to the standards of a professional breeder that can be trusted
