[redacted] purchased a 2005 Honda Civic (Vin#[redacted]) from 5 Star Auto Sales on May 11 2017. She purchased the car AS-IS with No Warranty. We offered warranty that she could have purchased which she declined. All documents are available if needed. About the rear trunk lid lock and the door...
locks we did replace the parts only because the locks had a problem before she purchased the car which the problem has been taken care of. As far as other issues with the car, we apologize but we assume no responsibility for the used vehicle. Once more we apologize but all payments are Non Refundable. Thank You
Review: I BOUGHT TWO VEHICLES FROM 5 STAR AUTO IN OCT 2013. A 2003 ACURA RSX, AND A 2006 TOYOTA SION. I PUT $3000 DOWN ON EACH VEHICLE. TOTALING $6000. THE ACUR
ABOUT OCTOBER 15, 2013 I BOUGHT 2 VEHICLES FROM 5 STAR AUTO SALES. A 2003 ACURA RSX, AND A 2006 TOYOTA SION. I GAVE 5 STAR $6000 IN DOWN PAYMENT MONEY. WHEN I BOUGHT THE 2003 ACURA MY WIFE SAID SHE SMELLED ANTIFREEZE BURNING IN THE ENGINE, [redacted] THE SALES MAN ALSO SMELLED IT. I DID NOT THINK ANY THING OF IT SO I DECIDED TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLES. ON OR ABOUT OCTOBER 30, 2013 MY 2003 ACURA BEGAN OVER HEATING. SO I TOOK IT TO A ACURA DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME I HAD OIL AND ANTI FREEZE IN THE ENGINE BLOCK, WHICH IS A SURE SIGN OF A BLOWN HEAD GASKET. I SPOKE TO 5 STAR AUTO THEY AGREED TO PAY THE REPAIR BILLS, THEY THEN REFUSED AFTER THEY KEPT MY CAR ALL WEEK. SO NOW MY CAR IS JUST SITTING WITH A BLOWN HEAD GASKET. MY NEIGHBOR TOLD ME SHE HAD A BAD EXPERIENCES WITH 5 STAR AUTO ALSO AND SHE SAID THEY ARE VERY CROOKED. THEY SOLD ME A LEMON CAR THEN LATER REFUSED TO REPAIR IT. I WILL CONTINUE TO LET ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO NEVER BUY A CAR FROM 5 STAR AUTO SALES. ALSO ALL THIER CARS ARE SALVAGED, AND TRYING TO GET CAR INSURANCE ON A SALVAGED CAR IS LIKE TRYING TO PAY A MORTGAGE. I WAS TOLD I WILL HAVE TO PUT DOWN $300 DOLLARS TO INSURE A SALVAGED CAR, AND MY MONTHLY PREMIUM WOULD BE $350 A MONTH. I TRUSTED 5 STAR AUTO THATS WHY I BOUGHT TWO VEHICLES IN MONTH FROM THEM, 5 STAR TOOK MY TRUST AND SHOVED IT DOWN MY THROAT. THERE WAS OBVIOUS SIGNS OF A BLOWN HEAD GASKET WHEN I LOOKED AT THE OIL CAP AND ANTI FREEZE CAP, I JUST WAS NOT WISE ENOUGH AT TIME OF PURCHASE TO LOOK.Desired Settlement: I WANT MY PARTS AND REPAIR COST PAID TO REPAIR THE BLOWN HEAD GASKET AND TORN MOTOR MOUNTS.

Initial Business Response
THE CUSTOMER HAS BOUGHT THIS CAR OFF THE LOT WITH A AS IS NO WARRANTY. THE CAR WAS SMOG-ED AND RAN GREAT BEFORE LEAVING THE LOT. THE CUSTOMER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE BEFORE PURCHASE IT IS NOT OUR RESPONSIBILITY THAT THE CAR OVER HEATED A FEW WEEKS LATER. BEFORE BLOWING A HEAD GASKET THE CAR MUST OVERHEAT AND DRIVEN FAR ENOUGH FOR THE GASKET TO CRACK, SO THIS PROBLEM COULD HAVE BEEN SOLVED IF HE DIDN'T OVERHEAT THE ENGINE AND WATCHED HIS TEMPERATURE FLUIDS WHILE DRIVING. IT IS A USED CAR I CANT ENSURE THAT EVERY CUSTOMER DRIVES WITH TOTAL CARE FOR THEIR CAR WHEN THEY BUY FROM HERE. IF THEY TAKE THE TIME AND CHECK FLUIDS REGULARLY THINGS LIKE THIS WONT HAPPEN.
Final Consumer Response
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I understand I bought the car as is, but we as human beings have a moral duty not to sell junk cars. The 2003 Acura rsx had a blown head gasket the day I purchased the vehicle. There was antifreeze and oil mixed in the oil. I took the vehicle to a Acura dealer that same week and they said the cost to repair is $5000 or more. The Acura had a temporary additive in the engine that's why it ran temporary. And 5 auto sales knew it. I am a disabled Army Veteran, and I take care and pride in any thing I purchase or own. The Acura never over heated during the time I drove it. I bought this car with severe internal problems. I should have seen that when I had to replace all the motor mounts on the engine. I also noticed the cars leather was sun dried, which was a sure sign it was sitting in a lot for many days. It looked nice on the outside, but was a internal night mare. Like a pig in a new dress. 5 star auto has a bad reputation in the city of Rancho Cordova, every mechanic I spoke to had bad reviews about 5 star auto. If 5 star auto continues to sell cars the way the do, some one might get hurt or sued. My neighbor also was scammed by 5 star auto, which is a sure sign of there crooked dealing. Yes 5 star did tell me they will take full responsibility for the blown engine, mike the sales rep promised me this. Its not cool for mike to later tell me he will not fix the blown engine on the 2003 acura rsx I purchased. I drove the car with total care, and checked the fluids repeatedly. The car had a blown engine from day one when I purchased it, thats why mike the sales man agreed to pay for the repairers. I have service records from the Acura Dealer in Elk Grove CA the first week I bought the Acura stateing there are severe engine problems with the car. it was true I should have checked the engine at the time of purchased, then I would have seen the engine and would have known it was junk. 5 star auto knew if I had of checked the fluids I would not have purchased the vehicle. How could they do this to some one who purchased two vehicles the same week. 5 star auto should be 0 star auto. I will never deal with them again. I have lots thousands of dollars in this deal, but they can care less. I have service records, and inspection records to prove every thing I am saying. I still have not received an apology or financial compensation from 5 star auto. They are a criminal car dealership.
Review: I was sold a car fraudulently by Five Star Auto. In the contract it says the car was sold to me for $2,499.00 and I had $4,349.00 worth of work done to the vehicle. I never had this company do any work on the vehicle. The vehicle came with all of the body work done. I put down a deposit of $2,000.00, they put in a new battery, I signed the paperwork, and they created a contract with their financing company, [redacted] Inc. [redacted] Inc. never sent me a payment for the car and repossessed it without notifying me. In addition, I wasn't notified of the auction sell for the vehicle, which they are required to notify me within 15 days after repossession of the vehicle. I didn't receive the plates for the vehicle until 04/18/14, but I bought the car on 02/16/14. I had to go to DMV to receive my plates. Also, Five Star Auto is not paying taxes on the vehicles they are selling there, please review the paperwork I have attached. This company is only paying taxes on what the car is worth and not on the total sale of the vehicle.Desired Settlement: I want my $2,000.00 deposit to be refunded to me.

Response:
HELLO, 5 STAR AUTO SALES WOULD LIKE TO POINT OUT THAT THE CUSTOMER HAS NO RIGHT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE PRICING OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO HER COMING TO AN AGREEMENT WITH 5 STAR AUTO SALES IN A CONTRACT THAT WAS SIGNED ON 02/16/2014. ALL EVIDENTIAL PAPERWORK IS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. AS TO THE VEHICLE BEING REPOSSESSED, 5 STAR AUTO SALES HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FINANCE COMPANY THAT REPOSSESSED THE VEHICLE. THAT IS ANOTHER STATE OF MATTER. PLEASE TAKE THIS BRIEF RESPONSE IN CONSIDERATION AND CLEAR OUR NAME FROM ALL COMPLAINTS. THANK YOU
