5 Star Electric Service

Review: 5 Star Electric damaged the redwood siding to our house while installing an electric box. The driveway was also damaged and left with a bare electric wire exposed posing a safety hazard. Mr. S[redacted] refused to correct the damage and blames the cable company for the siding damage. Charter cable provided a photo of their repairs that was done to siding area in November 2014(available upon request). This photo clearly shows no damage to siding after Charter's repair. 5 Star Electric worked on December 12,2014. Several other electrical contractor's were consulted including the chief building inspector for the city of Atascadero and all agreed that an electric box should have been installed to cover the exposed electric ground wire. Mr. S[redacted] refused to repair driveway claiming there has to be access. However, an box would allow access and safety. A reasonable and prudent electrical contractor with integrity would have corrected this and not left a safety hazard. During research, it was discovered that the service provided should have cost $500 ,not $1900.Desired Settlement: I have estimates totaling $700 to replace redwood siding and to install electric box . I do not want 5 Star Electric to complete repairs, since Mr. S[redacted] applied glue to cracked redwood and a wood screw which further damaged redwood siding.
