I had my house completely repainted from floor to ceiling, about one year ago, 5Star did an outstanding job, They also completely rebuilt my deck not an easy job since it is very big and very high off the groundI have not had one single issue with any of their work in fact found it to be outstandingI also have recommended them to several of my friends and have had nothing but positive feedback about their workI just read a review from an obviously very hateful and perhaps mentally disturbed women about her experience with Star [redacted] does have an answering machine I have left messages on it myself and they were always quickly returnedWhat kind of person expects a contractor to be at thier beck and call hours a day? I found [redacted] to be a very honest and reputable business man who did exactly what he said he was going to do for us, in fact much better than I expected! Don't let one disturbed person who thinks she was hiring a slave rather than a contractor lead you to pass up doing business with this out standing company and a good man! My husband and I recently hired 5-Star to do quite a bit of interior painting in our homeFor a quick summary, the completed work turned out to be of sufficient quality and the crew who actually performed the work was friendly and did a good jobHowever, the poor communication and lack of professionalism we experienced from *** (the owner) made us certain we would never give any more business to his company again in the future (or recommend it to others) before the job in our home was even completed
The initial meeting with *** and quote/contract process went smoothly, but when it came time for the work to be done we encountered almost an entirely different person with ***We had a few disagreements, and ultimately due to his poor communication skillsHe got frustrated with us, even though he was the one who kept contradicting himself and communicating poorlyHe spoke to us several times in ways that we find inappropriate and unprofessional as a business owner speaking to a customer
During the job, we received none of the promised updates or pictures aside from 2-the very first dayWe had no idea they were coming to paint over the weekend (it's not what he told us and he never gave an update), so his poor crew set off our alarm and had to deal with the policeWe got there for the final walkthrough and found paint dripped on the carpet and our mattress (despite him saying they cover everything), mud tracked on the floor, debris everywhere and not cleaned up, one wall a wrong color, and tons of places to touch up*** didn't come to the final walkthrough like he said he would during our quote/initial meetingThe painter who did come was friendly and happily resolved all of the issues, even going out and personally buying a vacuum to clean up their mess on our carpets
We had read good reviews before hiring ***, but we did NOT have a positive experienceI also discovered today on the Revdex.com site a note that says, "According to information in Revdex.com files, *** *** was formerly associated with *** & *** *** ** *** which maintains an unsatisfactory rating with Revdex.com." I wish we had seen that sooner!
All in all, it was an incredibly frustrating experienceThe house looks good now, but we know part of that is because of course a house looks good when you freshen it up with some new paint! The job itself is of sufficient quality, though it also could be better - I got the sense that *** told them to hurry and they rushed and didn't pay enough attention to detail - but it's good enough to have paid the bill and move on The poor customer service and communication provided by *** makes us certain he has no business being the front man of a company - even if he is the owner - and that he is unprofessional if anything doesn't go exactly how he feels it should go
We absolutely will find another painter to do the remainder of our home, when we initially thought that if this went well we'd hire him to do the rest laterWe also cannot recommend him to anyoneBusiness owners who treat customers in this manner will not get our business or our recommendation

Star was excellent and I highly recommend themWe initially hired them to do one job, but then continued with several more because their work was so good and it was so easy to work with them*** had some great ideas about design and I leaned on him to help perfect my vision for the projectsI had a definite idea about a wood wall I wanted to create in a music room*** listened to me and looked at all the pictures I gathered until he was sure he knew exactly what I wantedHe even made suggestions that made it better! The guys were ALWAYS on time (over several months of work) and worked very cleanlyI will not hesitate to use Star again in the future!

We choose Star Home Services based upon the rating and reviews when I Googled for painting services We had a new home built at Lake Providence, *** *** and decided to have the entire house painted before moving in The painters we had were neat and cleaned up at the end of each day The came to work neat and professional ***, the owner, told us the exact amount of days for the job, which was exactly as he said He said there would be a 30-day period to have them come back to touch up, but due to our situation of getting settled, etc., he has extended the time to accommodate our schedule This shows he wants us to be satisfied customers and understands the best time-frame is not always days This reminds me when I lived in a small town in the Mid-west where you hired "a dependable local" and their word was trusted! This is the kind of man *** is!
We also decided to have the porch enclosed After looking through a well-kept notebook of porches which *** has built, and listening to our desires, he had two of his carpenters build the most beautiful and well-built screenporch! He was here at different times to either help or over-see the daily work! He is really a busy man, so again, he is checking to make sure we are pleased My husband and I are looking forward to utilizing the porch in the spring
We also had the garage floor epoxied with speckles; *** made a recommendation and we trusted the result would be as he said....BEAUTIFUL!!! We couldn't be more pleased!
We believe *** is a very talented man who brings unique ideas when you are undecided After years of having been involved in new construction, (several times), and specific home remodeling, this is not something you find with most companies
Lastly, we would like to say: We recommend giving Star Home Services/***, an opportunity to speak with you on your next home project As he told us: "I am not the cheapest or the most expensive, but I try my best to give you a quality job for the cost."

I witnessed first hand the mess they leave behind. [redacted] is disrespectful, and does not run a reputable business with [redacted]. Poor paint job, unreliable, and false claims of 2 year warranty and workmanship. Everything they touched, needs to be redone.

Overall a very negative experience with this company. My experience was very similar to other reviewers. Unfortunately I did not read these online reviews before hiring this company. Sub standard work (that we are having fixed by other contractors), damaged other areas (6" by 6" hole in our only working shower) of our home totally outside the scope of our work that he left unaddressed for over 2 months before turning over to his insurance, confrontational owner, multiple threats ("I'll see you in court" or "you'll hear from my attorney") by the owner against us. I could write pages detailing the problems we've had but it's nothing others haven't already stated in reviews.
