Review: 5 star states they build all their kitchens taller than industry standard, failed to notice us, and willfuly seek to charge us to fix to standard

SCOPE: Demo pool decks, demo arbor, demo side yards, remove pool equipment, sand blast pool, re plum pool, build new spa, and new arbor, add gas and water and electric, change location of pool equip pad, build new out door kitchen, build fire pit, build seating benches, finish/start up pool

COMPLAINT: this company has attempted to perform all work listed, without proper permits. I first spoke with the owner, in late April, who stated it was his job, and that he "forgot" to file for permits. This happened with the pool, the arbor, and with the spa. All separate occasions, they even attempted to file permittes for the spa as a "rehab" project, instead of the new construction designation, which it is. They have cost us and them lots of additional time and money, in performing "fix" work on our property; from re digging gas lines for the correct size pipe and depth, tear down and rebuild of fire pit due to misshapen form, to building the out-door kitchen 42 inches high, with a 51 inch bar top ( kitchen is unusable, and totally out of industry standard). Vast majority of their work has been contradictory to industry standard, and done with very little consideration of the plans they bid upon, not to mention that they continue to fail to notice us as the homeowner on every instance of change.

Consistently, this company has gone off plans, and performed work similar to, but not as requested, all while failing to notice us as the home owner. From beginning to present, they have forced us into waiting multiple weeks just for simple status and clarification on the permit process. In addition to the time they needed to figure out how to proceed, while fixing their errors.

Now, they are attempting to charge us nearly $3,000.00 to modify the out door kitchen counter heights, to a reasonable working height ( not to mention closer to industry standard). Every week it seems as though they are forcing me to sign "work change orders" to modify the contract, for the items we have always expected from them; work that should be done according to plan.

There could be zero grey area for them to dispute, as they were given multiple copies of the professionally execute plans of this project. Which they have bid upon, and was accepted under contract.

Desired Settlement: Do the work they agreed to do, per contract, without being charged additional amounts.

Eliminate additional "change orders" to reflect original contract amount, perform per contract, as agreed upon, in expeditious manner.

PERMITS WERE PULLED FOR ALL THE WORK PERFORMED, ALL WORK WAS INSPECTED BY THE CITY INSPECTORS AND WAS PERFORMED PER CODE.

CUSTOMER REQUESTED A BBQ TO BE BUILT HIGHER THAN NORMAL BECAUSE HE WANTED TO HAVE A BEER KEGERATOR IN THE BBQ. AFTER THE BBQ WAS BUILT CUSTOMER CHANGED HIS MIND ON THE HEIGHT OF THE BBQ AND REQUESTED TO LOWER THE BBQ TO 42" HIGH. WE MET WITH THE CUSTOMER AND ALTHOUGH CUSTOMER ORIGINAL REQUEST WAS TO MAKE THE BBQ HIGHER WE AGRREED TO DECREASE THE HEIGHT OF THE BBQ AT NO ADDITIONAL COST TO CUSTOMER.

AS MENTIONED PREVIOUSLY ALL WORK WAS PERFORMED PER CODE, WITH PERMITS AND THE COMPANY INCURRED ADDITIONAL CHARGES FOR CHANGES WE MADE TO ACCOMODATE THE CUSTOMER.
