Review: We purchased a Pivothead camera which had a price on it for close to $5000.00. We were offered the item for $1800.US along with a filter lens. We spent the day enjoying the city and when we were at the hotel room we did some searching as the lens was not in the bag and neither was the receipt. or the box the camera came in, showing the pricing. The actual value of this camera, on the computer, was $299.US. We went back the next day to discuss this with them. First I asked for the lens, which was forgotten, and they did give one to us. Next I approached them about the actual value of our Pivothead camera. They said that they would produce a catalog from head office showing the price as correct....but they were all out....so would we come back that night. They knew that we had to leave the next day and would run out of time. We also noticed "NO Refund" signs on the front of the counter.....those had been covered by staff standing in front of it the day before. We would not be able to get proof of purchase from Visa for three days...too late. We had also been told that this item was not available in Canada. It was a man who called himself [redacted]...which doesn't sound right as he was from [redacted]. We have a photo of him if that is needed.Desired Settlement: The camera cost given to us was fraudulent. The only thing we could have done the next day was to call a cop and as the receipt had been palmed, it would have been his word against ours. We are requesting a refund of $1500.US as this is the amount of the overcharge.

Also, to protect other shoppers, the NO REFUND signs need to be above the counter, where they cannot have staff hide it with their bodies. There were at least six staff members in this small shop.

I know buyer beware and always get a receipt...here is our example of why...and they ask questions , like how long you are in NY, so they know that you will be long gone before anything can be done.

This is another form of theft. We were on our honeymoon,first time in NY and vulnerable Canadians. ,
