no idea how paypal but american express are investigating the case
Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:Sincerely,*** ***
The shortblock did not have internal damageWe are not interested in arguing back and forthYou are at fault in this situation as Paypal, American Express, and HMS all agree
Hello, This is a response to the claims made by [redacted]. [redacted] purchased a component of a engine from us on March 31st that included a 90 day warranty when installed by a professional. He attempted to install the engine himself without the proper training/capabilities. He contacted us for...
the first time on 7/25/16. I have proof of this date that is well past the warranty period. Regardless of the warranty I felt bad at the time and did not want to sell someone a faulty part. I told him to take the car to a reputable shop in the area to have a 3rd party inspect the engine to diagnose the issue. If it was a faulty engine at our fault I had plans of taking care of it. I gave him 4-5 choices and he chose one to go to. When it was taken to that shop the owner of the business showed [redacted] all the things he did wrong during the install. The engine was running badly due to incorrect assembly. The shop fixed some of the issues that [redacted] caused due to improper installation and he drove the vehicle home. He then brought it back to that shop the next week with a check engine light and a “knocking” sound. The car was throwing a AVCS oil system code due to a faulty AVCS solenoid. That part is not something we sold [redacted], and that part caused a oil failure in his engine. This was also likely due to improper installation.
[redacted] is lying when he says that we claimed to have tested the block from a running car. We sell hundreds of these blocks and have never claimed to take perfect good running engines and tear them down to sell single pieces. That makes absolutely zero sense. In regards to [redacted]’s refund request… He has attempted to file a chargeback with Paypal, and American Express. I have worked with both companies in regards to this matter, and they have both sided in our favor. We did not sell a faulty part, and they agree. It is very cut and dry case that Paypal/American Express were able to close out in our favor very quickly.
I invested more money to figure out what was the problem and there is what it came down to.
problem 1: The short block had internal damage that im sure thew were not aware of since the timing belt was broken.
problem 2: My check engine light came on with the brand new block installed with the exact same codes the problem was int the cam gears that HMS sold me were faulty.
Another shop did all the test and its getting oil pressure in the head and the block .We did replaced both vvti solenoids and kept getting the code on the first engine .parts installed on the short block from 541 are new gaskets, new bolts ,new timing belt kit ,new oil pump, new rebuild heads and cams with gears from HMS.
