Review: I took a navy rain jacket there for cleaning last week. The jacket was damaged in the cleaning process. My jacket now has white streaks throughout the body and sleeves of the jacket. I took the jacket back on Saturday, 4/4/15 and was told that it wasn't their error, but that they would re-clean & press it, and that it would be ready on Monday, (the 6th) after 5 PM. When I went to pick-up my jacket, it was worse than when I had returned it to them on Saturday to re-clean. At the service worker's insistence, I left the coat there, and was told that he would ask the manager of the cleaners give me a call; that was on Monday, April 6th. I have waited two days to hear from him and finally tracked him down today, only because I called him, again! The manager never at one time gave me his name, but he was totally rude right off the bat, at which time I had to get even ruder with him, by raising my voice to get my point across to him (he tried over talking me on the phone). He told me that he couldn't pay me for the damage done to my coat and stated that 'if he paid for all the items that were damaged in cleaning by his establishment, that he wouldn't be in business'! He then offered me 'some free dry cleaning' as if I'd ever frequent his business again. I have always used this cleaners since moving to Richmond four years ago and never had a problem until now....What saddens me the most is that the manager didn't even try to work with me on the damages...I didn't expect him to pay me what I paid, but I DID EXPECT HIM TO OFFER ME SOMETHING!!!Desired Settlement: I would like him, the manager/owner of the business, to make a decent offer (nothing less than $25) to me regarding my jacket.

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. If the company does not perform as promised I can get back to you at: [redacted].

Review: Brought my Coral colored [redacted] Silk Women's suit to their cleaners(May-June 2013). On returning to pick up the items. [redacted] said that they had not seen the silk tags and had ruined the suit and would award me $50 and would have to keep my suit (He said it was not a brand new suit). However, very lady like I explained to him that the fabric along to have my seamstres would make a duplicate for me, yet she needed the original.I came back several weeks later to let him know that the fabric would cost at least $150 pr. yard at [redacted]. He said this is all Corp. was willing to pay. I pick up my suit never being compensated for the damage to my suit which is unwearable. I think it only fair that 5th Avenue Cleaners compensate me for the cost of $250 for my silk designer suit.Desired Settlement: Check of $250 for the damage of my suit.
