I contacted Joe East after another company failed to show upThey were quick to schedule someone the next day during busy part of seasonThe rep that showed up was very hurried but was able to find the source of my HVAC outage, which was a loose power disconnect He also found a loose wire and pointed out my condenser coil was also possibly leakingWhile he was able to get my power restored to my unit, I was left with a lot of uncertainty regarding my interaction and have since hired another company to do follinspection which is pending During his work, he showed me that the pull out disconnect on my air handler was slightly melted and mentioned this was due to ageIn order to get it to form a better connection, he removed the plastic shield which hid the wires from anyone opening the disconnect box to push the pull out in more snuggly My big issue with this repair was not whether it was right or wrong but the fact he completely ommited this from his invoiceAfter further research online, I was left with concerns over whether this was safety hazard or possibly violation of building code that a building inspector may flag later(I am having different hvac company/electrician to come examine this more thoroughly) He also instructed me that my condenser coil was leaking refrigerant but insisted it was not an issue and not to sweat it, even though I have since read that this might possibly be an issue if system is low on refrigerantHe did not check levels or suggest to (I am having different hvac company to come examine this more thoroughly) He mentioned low refrigerant on the invoice ticket as well as a loose wire but no mention of the service disconnect, which was ultimately the root of the no power issue Considering the price that was paid for the service call, I would have hoped for a service tech that was not in such a hurry as I felt a lot of my concerns were blown off in order to get to next job
