To begin with estimates are just that estimates. Actual charges are based upon actual weight and actual services provided. A difference in the weight of a shipment will impact all of the charges associated with move. Items such as origin and destination charges, the tariff
transportation charges, and the fuel surcharge. All of these items added together will change the actual price versus the estimated price. Paxton Van Lines Inchas a contract with the company that this gentleman's wife works for. The company has a cap on what they will pay for moves. Anything over that cap is COD to the customer, and due upon delivery. This was made clear to the transferee prior to his move.It is unfortunate, that our transferee did not understand that they would be responsible for additional charges that exceeded the cap on their move, but the final invoice is based upon the actual services that were provided by Atlas Van Lines during their relocation. These services are documented by the weight tickets, inventories, and accessorial forms that the transferee went over and signed with the driver, acknowledging that these services were performed
