Murray Shaw installed a new roof for us in April High quality shingles were used along with a complete roofing system with a full year warranty A leak occurred on the inside through a skylight which was unfortunately not replaced at the time the new roof was installed
Murray Shaw roofing was contacted regarding this problem and immediately fixed the problem and also looked after fixing the interior of our home at there expenseThe owner and his crew handled this problem to our complete satisfaction
We would recommend this company as very efficient and reputable
I had a very bad experience with this companyMy new roof leaked about a week after installation (a lot of water, I had five buckets going at once)This happened in spite of my having pointed out my areas of concern (skylights) before the work was doneOf course they came back and did some work on the leak area, but I have no idea what the long term prognosis isThey told me after I should have had new skylightsNo one had mentioned that to meNot even when I showed their salesperson the skylights myself initially
Secondly, they were also going to put wires on my roof to handle ice build up in the winterBut only on one part of the roofI found that confusing because they had just quoted wires, not location and I assumed they had meant the whole houseBecause of my previous bad experience with the roofing, I wanted everything to go well on this issue so I asked to see an an ownerHe came over and said, no they weren't putting wires on the whole roof and how would he know where to put the wires, he's never seen my roof in the winterYes he is right about that, he hasn't seen my roof in the winterI can honestly say I have never seen a business owner care that little about the customer experience; his condescending attitude was painful Although his admission of lack of expertise was good I supposeNot everyone admits that to a customerWe did not proceed with Murray Shaw installing wires
When we further mentioned to him that we weren't happy with the roof experience, he said he wasn't involved in thatThat is all he had to say about thatAnd this was an owner of the businessThe lack of customer service or care made me feel sick I knew I was paying premium pricing for Murray Shaw, but I was hoping for peace of mindI don't have that nowI'm just embarrassed that I paid such a big price
