Quality of workmanship and need to correct descrepanciesThe quality of work is far inferior then the good job that was promised. It was determined several days later when the opportunity presented itself to have it inspected by experienced mechanics up close and on a vehicle lift. 1. Various pieces of hardware that hold inner and outer fenders were missing. 2. Paint overspray was everywhere. Poor paint application to the hood and fenders was obvious in that it does not have the same depth as the original paint on the rest of the car. 3. The bumper which is made of a plastic composition had not been primed and is causing the paint to peel off. 4. The wide spacing between both fenders and the new hood is not correctly fitted nor consistent with other [redacted] models. 5. The newly installed windshield is pitted which means it may be used and not new one as charged. 6. It was also installed poorly in that the upper plenum cover would permit water intrusion into the cowling area. 7. The two windshield washer sections were not coupled together properly causing a leak. 8. The lower left side of the hood has been bent in an attempt to align it to the L/F fender. This is due to the inside body structure not being properly straightened prior to mounting the L/F fender. 9. The L/F headlight assembly is of an inferior quality and not from the OEM but was billed at the OEM price. 10. The front hood had one of the mounting nuts missing. 11. The inner cooling hose beneath the front of the car was loose and improperly positioned. 12. The upper air filter clamp had not been tightened. 13. Various clips holding the wiring harness were missing or not properly positioned. This could have caused a fire due to abrasion. 14. The manufactures labels on the inside of the hood were missing. 15. The area where the body meets the radiator support and fender on the L/S of the car was not properly positioned and an attempt was made to hide this by applying body fill. 16. The outside air temp sensor was not mounted correctly due to an inner panel not being replaced. 17. The car developed shifting problems that it never had. This was diagnosed by the Audi dealer and caused by not properly refilling the transmission with ATF after reconnecting the cooler hoses. 18. During the body work, the windows were left open causing intrusion of dust inside the passenger compartment. 19. There is an inner panel behind the front bumper assembly that one shop discovered that is damaged and should have been replaced.20. I've not been very successful in getting someone to estimate or correct this damage. Three shops said the work done by 70 East is extremely poor and refused to try and correct it. The one estimate from the body shop recommended by the nearest [redacted] dealer is $2,000. but does not cover any hidden damage.Desired SettlementRefund of $2,500. to correct known descrepancies plus any items found after removing front assembly and left front fenderBusiness Response We have tried to make any repair that was necessary but can not get the car back. Also I have set up a body shop to repaint the car and take look at what else need to be done. some of the items on his list have all read been fix. I can't get car back for any of the repairs.Consumer Response Given the shoddy craftsmanship in the original repairs and dishonestly associated with the original invoice, I am uncomfortable with returning the vehicle in order for the business to correct the substandard work, I prefer that 70 East reimburse me for the projected costs associated with having the revisions performed by another body shop of my choosing.
