77 Auto Repair Inc.

Review: Took my car to 77 Auto Repair because my car died right on the corner of their business. He was able to get car in his shop. I had to go to work gave him my # and he called me later to tell me it was my power steering belt & tensioner at the cost of $175.00. When I went to shop to pick up car, he told me power steering pump is not good and it needed to be fixed since it will effect the new belt he put in. I asked him total cost with pump and he said $550.00. I said ok and told him it would be put on a visa credit card. He said he doesn't accept credit cards and I told him I don't have the $550.00 cash (he has a credit card sign on front door of business that he accepts master card & visa). At that point, I paid him $175.00 cash for the job he did. I told him I must drive the car to my house (1 mile away) since I can't afford to pay cash for additional work. I left with car, drove 1/4 mile from shop, and car died. Belt snapped right off. I called him immediately to let him know car stalled and I am on the side of the road. Went back to his shop the following day with broken belt to show him and he said its not his problem. He agreed to give me money back for parts he put in. He gave me $45 cash I told him to write the amount down on a piece of paper as proof. He said he didn't need to. I accepted the $45 because I knew he wasn't going to give me a refund. I lost $130.00 from this business owner.Desired Settlement: I would like the balance of $130.00 returned to me since I had to go to another shop and get it fixed and pay another fee for a job that he already was paid for. He also misrepresents his business by posting mastercard/visa accepted sign on his business door.
