outside handle “fell off “in her husband's hand when he opened the lift gate. The handle in question also houses the tag lamps and covers from side to side the complete lift gate. The handle has 6 studs that bolt through the lift gate to attach it. A broken part would definitely be found and addressed at time of disassembly for the refinish process.Customer returned to our body shop the week of July 20, 2015 complaining our work was faulty. After examining her car, our manager explained to her that the handle was broken off, it had not fallen off. All 6 studs were still attached to the lift gate but had broken away from the handle. The handle was not “falling off.” This could have happened by someone sitting on the handle (which it looked like to our manager), someone's attempt to break into car, or possibly even being hit when customer was not in vehicle.The owner called the customer to try to explain the process. Customer was very difficult to work with on this issue. The owner informed the customer that he had another handlehere at the shop and attempted to tell her the body shop would work with her. She rudely informed the owner she had already purchased another part and taken somewhere else tobe painted.The bottom line is our body shop does 100 percent guarantee all bodywork and paint, not parts. We cannot guarantee the lifetime of any part.
