Review: I went to 88 pet world in the beginning of Feb.2014 to inquire about how to purchase a kinkajou from them. The owner of 88 pet world [redacted] said he could get me a 12wk old baby kink even though his ad says they can get 8wk old bottle fed kinks. I told him how important it was for me to get one as young as possible but he claimed the breeder he uses doesn't feel comfortable letting them go that young and the youngest would be 10wks. About a wk later his son told me there would be a baby ready in 2wks if I wanted that one. I told him that was too soon cuz I still had a lot to do to get ready to bring one home. I told [redacted] to let me know the next time there would be babies avail. so I could get one then. He never called me and I had to keep calling him. Finally I decided on 2/17/14 to give [redacted] a $1500 deposit saying I would be ready at the end of April to bring home the baby, thinking this would show him I'm serious. Again I asked him when would the breeder have babies avail. He said they have babies all the time and April would be fine and they would have a 10wk old kink by then. At the end of March I called to ask when in April he was ready and he said he would have to call me back. 2wks later and no return phone call I called him again. His response was they wouldn't have a kink ready for another 7- 8wks. I was shocked and disappointed because that meant not til the 3rd wk of May. He said he had a 12wk old kink he could give me but I told him how important it was to get a 8 to 10 week old. So with reluctance I agreed to wait. So the first wk of May I called to ask what day I could pick up the kink. He said the kink would be 10wks old in another 2wks so he'll be ready then. 2wks later I called him, he said he would have to call me back. 1 wk later no phone call back I called him again and his staff tell me the kink won't be ready for another wk. I called [redacted] to tell him my concerns and he was rude and nasty. After all that no kinkajou. Horrible experience!!Desired Settlement: I gave [redacted] the owner of 88 pet world a $1500 deposit for a kinkajou I never got. On the deposit receipt it does not say any thing about no refund or final sale. He never told me no refunds and it does not say any where no refunds. [redacted] gave me a check for $1350 and not the full $1500 saying it was for vet fees for the kinkajou I was not getting. He also said he usually doesn't give refunds implying I was lucky to get that much back. I want my $150 that I am owed.

on 2/17/14 Miss [redacted] ordered a baby boy kinkajou by leaving a $1500.00 non refundable deposit on her credit card. I then sent that deposit to my breeder to secure her next available baby boy. All deposits on special order or in stock animals are non refundable. This is posted in the store. It was after the deposit was received that my breeder told us that we had a baby boy that would be available in two weeks. Miss [redacted] refused this baby boy saying it was to soon. she wasn't ready and would wait for the next baby boy. I informed her that it could be weeks or even months before we could get another baby boy in and she was fine with that. I informed her that I would keep her posted on any information that I received and I did. on 5/5/14 I informed Miss [redacted] that I will have pics of the baby boy kinkajou for her in about two weeks and on 5/16/14 I forward those pictures of the baby boy kinkajou to Miss [redacted] telling her two more weeks before the baby was weaned off the bottle on solid food and ready to ship give or take a little cause every baby weans different. she was exited that the wait was soon over, so excited that when I spoke to her again on 5/26/14 telling her that shipping was arranged for 6/3/14 she started demanding that we ship it on 5/30/14 she got very upset that I couldn't change the ship date. I explained it was a very expensive exotic animal that needs to be vet checked before it is shipped and my breeder the shipper had everything scheduled already for shipping on 6/3/14. on 6/2/14 one day prior to shipping Miss [redacted] came storming into the store demanding her deposit back. I spoke to my breeder to see if we can cancel the shipping for the next day stating my customer was backing out. I asked if we could get Miss [redacted] deposit back and they informed me that they would less the vet charge for the health papers that were required to ship the kinkajou. that fee was $150.00. I personally explained this to Miss [redacted] asking her if she would like the baby boy kinkajou the next day or a refund of $1350.00 she said she wanted the money back because she found a breeder willing to sell her a younger un weaned baby.
