90's Nail Reviews (3)

Ms. [redacted],I have read the complaint of miss [redacted]. Her complaint was simply based on an assumption that our "gel" powder was not gel powder because the technician did not cure it under the light from her knowledge of being a licensed cosmetologist. The reason why he did not cure it is because if she had read the label more thoroughly, the label said "cured" in past tense meaning the powder was already cured in powder form. The only types of gel that needed to be "cured" directly on customers' nails are the "liquid gel" and "gel color." The technician did "cure" the polish in her complaint because it was "gel" color. The technician also did tell the costumer about the polish being gel and she had agreed to continue receive the service and proceeded to pay. We offered the $20 refund because of a confusion of what her letter really meant. We have decided to not give her the refund anymore, because we felt that we are not responsible for this misunderstand and confusion between the technician and the customer.Sincerely,90's Nails[redacted]

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Ms. Palmer Edwards,I asked the nail tech as he was doing my nails on if they had liquid gel he said no we have powder gel only I said ok. But s he went on I asked why he wasn't curing the gel powder as it stated on the side of the container? he said he didn't understand what curing was. Now I'm a license cosmetologist so I understand how to do nails and what curing is also I know the process of what was happening. so when I asked why he didn't need to put it under the light to cure it he said it didn't need to but as the container he took out to fill my gel nails with said gel powder and it needed to be cured I felt I was paying for gel but got acrylic. Bc when he polished my nails he cured it under the uv light. I felt like he just didn't care. Because, when it was time to check out and I said why am I being charged for gel when it was acrylics they spoke in their language and then she said something and walked away. He just said its gel price. I don't accept their offer of 20.00. Because I paid for my nails to be done correct later that day at another nail salon and they have gel powder also and my nails was cured. So I want the full amount back of what I paid bc I had to go spent double in one day bc I didn't want acrylics on my nails.Sincerely,[redacted]

Review: I went to get my nails filled and advised I had gel not acrylic, so as the young man proceeded to do my nails I read the container he grab that was powder and looked like acrylic. It said powder gel and nails had to be cured by a UV Light. now with gel nails if its not set and cured then its not properly done which can have different affects on the nails. I been getting gel nails for years and now the way they are done as well I'm a license cosmetologist and was trained on how to do gel nails. When I address the nail tech he said it is gel I said if its gel it has to be cured under a UV Light he said I don't know what curing is. I said its when you place the gel under the light it seals it, he charged me for gel nails and gel polish the polish was gel but he applied acrylic over my gel and it ate at the gel underneath. This company is charging customers for a service that they are offering but they are taking the cheap way out and using acrylic instead of gel. When I voiced my opinion no one in charged tried to help me.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund and refunded for having to go to another salon and getting this fixed. bc now my nails are damaged from their product and very weak.

Response:

Dear Ms. [redacted]Thank you for notifying us that the consumer was unhappy with her service. We sincerely apologize for this and have never had this type of complaint before. The consumer was in our nail salon, however; was unclear with her description of "curing." We do not know what "curing" means and have been in business for more than 20 years. We only provide powered gel and gel nail polish, as is stated on our sign. The consumer did not state she was unhappy with her service until after the services were completed. She then proceeded to pay and leave. We are willing to reimburse the consumer $20.00 for the service. As she DID NOT state, at any time, at the beginning or during her service that she was unhappy. She only mentioned this after the service was completed and my technician spent the better part of an hour with her.We believe our offer for resolution is fair, and the other half of the cost covers our technician's time and the cost of the product we used on her.Sincerely,90’s NailsSon N[redacted]
