Review: I had used 916 movers 6 months ago and had a great experience, I texted the [redacted] to tell him what a terrific job the guys did. I am recovering from a tumor operation and all of my belongings went to a storage garage where I stayed with my daughter for the last 6 months. My belongings never left this garage or were ever moved. When I got to a point in my recovery and was ready to move out of my daughter's place, I called 916 movers again (because I had a good experience the first time). This time was an awful experience, as not only were some of my belongings damaged, but the [redacted] was very dishonest when I brought this to his attention, and I have written documentation of his outright lies regarding this. I was fortunate enough to seek the help of an attorney who advised me to communicate with [redacted] only in writing, because of several verbal lies he had told when I addressed the damaged BBQ with him. This was the best thing that I could have done, to communicate in writing. I have two completely different accounts of his story and he still has not taken responsibility for an expensive BBQ that was damaged during my move (a gift from my best friend two years ago). The BBQ weighs more than 500 lbs and should have been moved using an appliance dolly, as I had requested. The two movers tried to take it down a number of stairs without the assistance of a dolly of any kind, into my back yard, and the BBQ was dropped several inches onto cement stairs, This resulted in damage to the bottom edge of the BBQ where it hit the cement stair and the shearing off of tiles above where it hit. I do have witnesses to this, and all the [redacted] could do was make up excuse after excuse and lie. All I need to do is show you his written version of the story (2 completely different versions) and it will be apparent, that his integrity is not worth a thing. He can talk customer service all that he wants. His customer service is absolutely reprehensible.Desired Settlement: The insurance that I was suppose to be provided with, according to my contract, was 60 cents per lb. This does very little to repair the damage done, but at least that and an apology from the owner would go a long way in delivering the kind of customer satisfaction that he purports to provide. In addition to this, the lamp part that he has in his possession for my lamps that were moved, should be returned.

Please explain to me how I lied to you, or how I gave 2 different versions of what happened? Written communication is fine for me, I have no desire to speak with you on the phone. You have done nothing but call me names, and make me out to be a liar. I have record of all this as well. I will not be bullied into the resolution you are looking for. I explained to you my theory on what happened to the tiles and I also did the appropriate research to support my theory. I'm also on record that I don't believe you have a witness. How does any of this make me a liar. Just because I'm questioning your credibility does not make me a liar. As soon as I heard there was a problem I reached out to you immediately. It was your unwillingness to discuss the situation without cussing at me and calling me names that caused the communication to come to a stop. The pics speak for themselves. The damage on the bottom of the BBQ is not new damage, from the pics u can see that it looks rotted out. Who knows when that damaged happened. You said yourself that you had to get down on your knees to see it, and I've already explained to you why the tiles have pooped of the side. So explain to me why what I'm saying is being discredited by you and how does any of this make me a liar.

Response:
I am rejecting this response because:the owner has lied on numerous levels. I have written documentation. I also have numerous witness to this incident. Both the condition of the BBQ before and after, where the damage was done, loose tiles located, manufacturer statements regarding how tiles DO NOT come off from expansion and retraction. Manufacturer statements that BBQ can only be damaged by dropping it. Completely different stories from mover about how the movers noticed that it was damaged before they moved it, to they did not see the damage prior to moving it. Professional movers statements about how the BBQ should never have been moved without a utility dolly.

Response:
I am rejecting this response because:Once again it is riddled with lies and errors. I would do better to go to court and resolve this. He was never prevented from doing due diligence as he states. To the contrary, I said to him a number of times, would you like to come and see this? He never replied yes.Whatever legal advice he had was poor, if he had it at all. Once you go to court, the cost of reimbursements applies for expenses to collect what is rightfully yours.I am also not naive enough to remove accurate assessments of this extremely negative experience with him, thinking that he will all of a sudden behave in a trustworthy manor. This guy is a pathological [redacted].Please close this case, as unsatisfactory customer experience. And perhaps he will learn from it, and grow to be a better customer service provider. In the meantime, I have free speech and I will gladly share my experience with others to prevent them from having a similar experience. I believe that is why there is a Revdex.com and sites, like [redacted].
Review: I hired 916 Movers for my large Elk Grove move. I moved from a 4bed 3bath 3000sq ft home to a larger home in Elk Grove. I requested 5 guys which was $200 per hour and the move took 10 hours. Everything went well until the end. As I was signing the credit the receipt my husband noticed a very large linear 4 inch dent going down the front of our new top of the line 4 door LG refrigerator door. The team lead told me to call the owner and assured me that he was "fair." I called him and he said he would have to talk to the guys and call me back. When he called back he told me that they have no idea how it could have happened and maybe it was there before the move and I just didn't notice it. I matter of factly pointed out that his crew pointed out every single dent and scratch on furniture and considering the fact that they took the doors off there was no way they would not have noticed it(because it is so large) an not have pointed it out before moving. He asked for my original receipt and what kind of warranty I had. He does not need my original receipt to resolve this but I gave him a copy anyways and I told him my warranty will not cover damage cause by movers. I offered to have him send someone out to give an estimate on replacing the door and got no response. I had someone come out and they gave an estimate of $427 plus a $60 trip charge. He has refused to reimburse us this amount so I offered again to let him have someone come out and give an estimate. I got no response about that.I paid $3500 for this refrigerator, his guys damaged it and I want him to pay for the door replacement.Desired Settlement: I want his to pay for the replacement of the refrigerator door. After a 1 1/2 weeks of trying to settle this with Steve, the owner, I had the door replaced. I have the receipt and the total is $487 (427 plus 60)

Response:
Company states: We did the move for her. We moved the refrigerator and it was taken apart very carefully. They were watching us while doing this and while we put it together. They said that they noticed a scratch on the refrigerator when they were signing off on it. Just in case .60 cents per pound?. In an effort to rectify the situation I was willing them to give them the max pay out and plus I am reimbursing them the tip. We asked to have some sort of documentation/warranty information so we could be fair. At this point, we are not offering anything anymore since the consumer has already had the door replaced.

Response:
I am rejecting this response because: I just want to clarify. It was not a "scratch" It was a DENT. We saved the panel in case it needs to be verified and took high definition pictures. If the mover will reimburse us the tip which was $150 ($30 per mover x 5 movers) and reimburse us the max allowed by the insurance I guess we have no choice but to accept.

Response:
I am no longer offering the the previous settlement due to the customers unwillingness to resolve the matter in a fair and reasonable matter. I have responded every step of the way in an effort to resolve this claim. I am no longer willing to speak with Mr [redacted] regarding this matter. On 2 separate occasions he has not followed through with his part of settling this matter, and is very difficult to deal with. If Mrs [redacted] would like to contact me I would be willing to come to an agreement with her.

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
