Review: On Dec. ** I was trying to scan on my printer which was 3 weeks old. only thing I got was a window on my computer screen with whe picture of what I was scanning and on the printer screen it said "computer not found". I tried several time before I called HP tech support. What I got was 99 tech support, but Thought it was HP. I told him the problem and he asked how old the computer was, I told him I had just got it the week before and that the printer was working fine just couldn't scan. He asked to go into my computer and then he uninstalled and reinstalled my printer. I still did the same and I told him. than he said that It was probobly a virus and checked. he said I had a Trojan virus that wouldn't let my printer scan to the computer. He said He had to get a tech to fix the problem, but it would cost me for one time $100, 6 mo. $150,a year for $270. I opted for a year. So the tech started working on it. He made me turn off the modem and turn it back on. than he uninstalled and installed the printer. After more or less 2 hrs. he said go to the picture on you screen and click on the bottom left corner. I did and another window pupped up asking where I wanted to scan to. The problem was that the screen on the printer was still saying Computer Not Found. I asked to speak to the person I talked to first. he told me to call next day. I did and [redacted] the person I had talked to I told him that the tech hadn't done anything everything was the same as it was before I called them. He said that my computer was running faster I told him it was the same. Also he said some printers scan from the computer and I asked why he hadn't told me that the day before. I told him I didn't think I should pay for something I didn't get. He said he would talk to billing and they would call me. Later they called and I told him the problem and he said my computer was fixed and that the virus was removed. I told him everything was still the the same that the printer wasn't scanning to the computer. I said that [redacted] could have told me that some scan from the computer. I said I didn't think I should have to pay for this, he argued that I was very smart to try and get something for nothing and that "what would Jesus think of me". I told him I was going to file a complaint and we ended there. I got in touch with HP and the man I talked to even told me I got ripped off cause both computer and printer had a year warranty. In the firt place I called about the printer and then they went to my computer which was fine and didn't fix what I thought was a problem. I didn't know about scanning from the computer which they could have told me and avoided this problem and me having to throw away $270.Desired Settlement: I don't think either they didn't know what they were ding or they just wanted to fleece me. Either way I think I should get my full refund.

Review: I purchased a new laptop computer on Oct [redacted] 2013.On bringing the computer home,I was unable to get my HP printer to work.I looked on the Internet for HP to see if I could figure out how to get my printer to work.I saw hundreds of websites claiming to be HP.I randomly picked one, which was 99 Tech Support. An [redacted] answered the phone, whom I had a difficult time understanding. He put me on Team support, and immediately told me the reason my printer didn't work was because I had a Tojan, malware virus.he told me I had 2 options, one would be to call an in home tech which they would charge me 350.00 to come to my home,or let them fix it for 280.00.I told him I couldn't afford 280.00.He said well then for 180.00 they would fix the printer issue, but I could not call them back for tech support for a year which the 280.00 would provide.I asked him if I could call someone for advice on this issue. He told me oh no,if you hang up your computer could be ruined.I'm a 67 year old widow, who knows nothing about technical computer issues.I have no children who could have asked. So fearing my 680.00 computer would be ruined I agreed to let them fix my printer issue. After the fact.I felt uneasy so I called the computer store where I purchsed my computer. It was not a [redacted],or [redacted],I was an accredited computer business who have been in business in this area for 30 years. The man who sold my the computer told me to call my credit card company immediately to have that charge removed. He said it was a scam, and my new computer(a few hours old) did not have a Tojan malware virus.I called Citi Cards immediately, and they told me the charge had gone to PayPal.I called PayPal and was assued that the charge would be taken are of.My printer still did not work, and after 14 days on the [redacted] of October 2013.I took my computer, and printer back to the computer store. They told me the printer was not set to MY default printer. He set it,and did not charge me.He told me that setting the printer would NOT cost 180.00 anyway.Desired Settlement: I want the credit card company paid the amount I owe.Citi Card gave me a credit for 50.00 for my inconvience but could not remove the entire amount from my account.Citi Card also informed me that if I don't pay the balance for this, they are reporting me to 3 credit companies.I live on a fixed income, and cannot afford to pay for scams.

Review: I was referred to an internet service company 99techsupport.com via a phone call to [redacted]. customer service for assistance with new computer cleanup on April [redacted], 2013.The 99techsupport.com customer service advised in a foreign dialect that I would have to pay for services and sold me on a three-year service $369.99 plan. I paid via my Wells Fargo debit card Service plan based on http://www.99techsupport.com site includes anytime fix and monthly cleanup and virus scan. A report would be sent to me each month on the scheduled date. My monthly scan date was set as 8th of each month. On May *th I had no contact from 99techsupport.com customer service. I called [redacted] and the technician was clueless on my plan and had no record of any service conducted on my computer. WE finally agreed that he would start cleaning and optimizing my computer remotely and this process started. I did not receive a report on scan results as specified in 3-year plan. On June *th, same problem occurred. No service had been initiated and I called [redacted] to find out why no scan or optimization had started. The technician again was clueless so I asked for the phone number of agent who could refund my $366.99. The technician said that person was unavailable but would call me.I received a call back in about 5 minutes from a foreign speaking agent who tried to talk me out of my refund request. After 20 or more minutes of me asking for a refund the agent said he would refund my money. I have received no refund.I think the New York address is a store front operation for a company that is operated overseas.Desired Settlement: Refund of prorated amount of three-year plan of $300.00

Review: I was having problems with my HP printer. I was trying different things to get it to print. Somewhere along the line a phone number came up for help. ###-###-####. A foreign male answered, tech support and offered to help. I was on the phone for about 3 uh ours going through different operations with printer and computer. He showed me where there were 4000 errors on my computer and said they were impeding my printer. So I allowed him to remote in and he started to clean up the computer and work on printer. During this time he told me he had a service that was over $400.00 for 5 years assistance monthly. I said I was not interested because of the amount. Over the course of the3 hours, he gave me different prices for different services and then said since I was a senior citizen, he could give me the services for life, and they would be good on any future computer. There was a fee of $240.00 for one thing, another quote of $280.00. I agreed to the $280.00. The bill came and it was for $380.00. I tried to discuss this at the above stated number the next day. During this time I had replaced the printer head of the printer and [redacted] or [redacted] as he said his name was, worked again on the computer. I guess distracting me. I have since talked directly to HP (Hewitt Packard) and these people are not affiliated with them at all. Tonight I tried repeatedly to call. The first time I received the answering machine, we are unavailable at this time, leave a name and we will call back. Since then no one has answered the phone. I was able to send an email requesting a full refund. As of this writing there has been o communication with 99 tech support. The first time I talked with them was at noon on September *,2013.Desired Settlement: $ 380.00
