A-1 Affordable Plumbing Reviews (3)
Business response taken over the phone by Revdex.com staff 7/8/15. It was a home warranty, it only had one item on it. Upon arrival the consumer added several other items and they are not familiar with this warranty, they had to take the report and get approval from the warranty company. On the consumer's...
complaint the consumer mentions the drain backing up within a week of them being there. The drains were flowing when they were there, they are just older drains and they are not going to get any better than that. They cannot be snaked they had to use a kinetic (air) ram due to them having a drum trap. As far as the other work, it was completed, they replaced an overflow gasket and they did a rebuild on a toilet and the trip lever for the toilet was replaced. The work was done. They will not be refunding any money. As far as having someone else come out, the company contacted the consumer's warranty company to have them send someone else out because the consumer had been calling the office and being very rude. The consumer was accusing their plumber of being incompetent, therefore the company didn't see any reason to send them back out. The warranty company can reassign plumbers in cases like this.
On Oct. 17th, 2013 A-1 Affordable Plumbing, via HSA Home Warranty, came to our house to service our hot water tank. The technician completed his repair estimate and on his way out, drove his truck over a 13ft portion of our lawn that had been newly soiled and seeded. As a result of his driving over the lawn a 13ft long and 8 inch deep mud rut was left. The technician returned to the house to discuss the problem with us, he said that he was having a terrible day and would return soon to fix it himself. The damage was estimated by a local landscaping company to be in excess of $300. Several calls were made to A-1 Affordable Plumping to find out when exactly the repair to the lawn would be made. 5 days later (Oct. 22nd, 2013) we received a call from [redacted] who said that she had no idea what had happened and that she did not have our name/information. She stated that she would forward our information and case to the owner. On Oct. 24th, 2013 the technician returned to fix the hot water tank, which he did successfully. When asked if he would be fixing the rut he created in the driveway, he claimed that he would have to talk to the owner about what to do. We suggested that although the damage would cost much more, we were willing to settle by allowing A-1 Affordable Plumbing to refund our HSA Home Warranty Deductible amount, $75. The technician contacted the owner and the owner agreed. On Oct. 29th, 2013 we received a check in the mail, from A-1 Affordable Plumbing, in the amount of $75 for "damage to lawn" made out to a different party than us. We called A-1 Affordable Plumbing that day and [redacted] told us to "tear up the check." [redacted] said that she would place a new check in the mail immediately. On Nov. 4th, 5th, 6th, 3013 calls were placed to A-1 Affordable Plumbing with no calls back.On Nov. 7th, 2013 we complained to HSA Home Warranty. On November 8th, 2013 we received a call from [redacted], where she called us an "[redacted]" in reference to our new check request and hung up the phone.
