Had a problem with my refrigerator ice maker Service man pushed the ice maker reset button and within seconds declared that I needed a new ice maker and control board He did not spend any time to really determine what the problem was and said he knew what needed to be done Then within another seconds determined that it would cost $to fix Very untrustworthy The service man was a contractor and not even an employee I called the main office and was told it was the contractor service men who determine what needs to be done and that was that Cost me $for nothing

not a rant, but a bit of a warning : I called an appliance repair company yesterday to take look at my ice maker that wasn't dispensing ice ( it was making ice, but not dispensing ) -- they said they would send a guy out today, (it was a common problem with Samsung I guess), but the have an $service call that would be refunded when they finished working on it - WELL, he gets here and in about secs tells me it's gonna be $to fix the ice maker and $for a problem I had with the filter.......so I said, OUCH, can't do that - then stuck his hand out and said "that will be $89!" -- yes I agreed to the service call to begin with ,but damn, $700???? so I paid him the $and he left...frustrated, I searched YouTube for any clues and found a few posts about it -- I ended up fixing the ice maker for $from a part at Lowe's! not sure if there's a moral to the story , but I;m pretty stoked that it only cost me $+ $to fix my ice maker! haha - I should call the folks at A Appliance Mechanical Service Incorp (*** was the tech) and let them know how to fix an ice maker! --- I looked up a brand new part ( if I wanted to buy the whole assembly and it was less than $for the whole darn thing! ) insane - http://www.***.com/da97-08519a-smg-n-13.html

On 05/31/an A-Appliance tech *** came to home to repair "clunking" noise during the spin cycle My washing machine was fully functional It just made a clunking noise when spinning *** first replaced the clutch but that did not fix the problem Then *** replaced the basket drive and the clunking noise went away I paid $to A-Appliance to fix the clunking noise The week of July 3rd the clunking noise returned *** returned on 07/11/ Before he arrived I did a load of laundry and made a video during the spin cycle so that the technician could hear the clunking noise *** arrived and dismantled the washing machine He advised me I needed a new transmission which would cost $ He explained that is why the machine was "not agitating or spinning" I advised him I had been able to use the washing machine without any problems with agitation or spinning and only had the clunking noise during the spin cycle He said he would return with another t

We have used A-Appliance Mechanical Service only two times in the past three years, and that is because they do the job right the first time The first time we called them (over three years ago), they came out on time, and advised that the appliance we were thinking of repairing would cost more to repair, and would break again soon, therefore being a waste of money They were right! We kept their card because of such honesty, and called them again recently (three years later) because of the professional honesty demonstrated before, and we were (once again) not disappointed They arrived on time for the appointment, repaired two appliances The charge was totally reasonable, the technician was courteous, professional, knowledgeable, didn't waste time, was friendly we highly recommend A-Appliance Mechanical Service, and if we have other repair needs in the future, they will be the company we call We will also highly recommend them to friends and neighbors as we encounter those in need of appliance repairs in the future We would personally give A-Appliance Mechanical Service an A+ They demonstrate every trait we'd like to find in every company we deal with

Complaint: [redacted]
The response received from A1 Appliance Repair contains several untrue statements.  When the technician returned to fix the washer on 07/11/2016 I was not argumentative.  He told me I now needed a new transmission and all I did was question why that problem was not discovered/diagnosed during the first repair on 05/31/2016 when the clutch was replaced (which did not fix the clunking) and then the basket drive replaced.  My complaint is:  I HAD a fully FUNCTIONAL washing machine prior to the technician coming out on 07/11/2016 to fix my washing machine.  After dismantling and reassembling the washer it no longer functioned.  I was told on 07/11/2016 by both the technician and office personal that the transmission would be repaired at no charge.  On 07/12/2016 the office manager called me and stated they did not want to put any more money or manpower in the repair because they were not confident they could repair the washer.  I NEVER requested that A1 Appliance buy me a new washing machine.  I NEVER made any threats whatsoever.  I simply stated that I had a functioning washing machine (only a clunking noise during spin cycle) BEFORE the technician dismantled the washer on 07/11/2016 and AFTER reassembling the washer I NO LONGER had a functioning washing machine.  I feel some compensation should be provided to me by A1 Appliance.

Quick weekend service. Explained necessary repair and recommended replacement instead. Honesty was appreciated.

My technician did go out on 5/31/16 for a complaint of "clunking" noise.  He put a clutch on, did not fix the issue so he installed a basket drive.  The job should have been 372.00 but my technician gave her a discounted price of 258.00.  The washer worked fine until 7/11/16. ...

Unit making noise again, when my technician checked machine, it now had additional issues.  The technician told customer that transmission was now needed and it was a $202.00 part, but the owners of company were willing to buy the part and Thomas was willing to waive his labor fee, so it would be at n/c.  Customer was very argumentative and started threatening company that "this better fix the problem or you will be in a lot of trouble".  I, the office manager, came into office on 7/12/16, and spoke with owners, office personnel and technician.  After reviewing, decided that since this is an older washer with multiple issues, we will issue a full refund to customer.  Did not charge customer the service call or fees for parts already installed.  I called customer myself and explained, customer wanted us to buy her a new washer.  I told customer that we are not buying her a new washer.  We fixed her washer, which worked for a month and half, then offered to resolve the other issue with a loss for cost of parts and labor to company and technician.  Customer felt that her $258.00 she paid afforded her a new washer from our company.  I sent her a refund check in the mail for $258.00, so she can go buy herself a new washer.

Technician arrived, and was staring at me through the door not introducing himself nor telling me what company he was representing. I had to ask what his name is. He walked in and within about 10 seconds he diagnosed that my one and half year old Whirlpool refrigerator needs three new parts. After he left I did research and found out from the people that had the similar problem that all I needed was defrost the refrigerator that one of my children left the door open before we left for a vacation. I called next day to complain. The office manager told me to find a different company next time and I cant agree any better. I don't recommend them. They are not honest and have very poor work ethics.

We had also contacted other repair services when our refrigerator quit working and no one could get to us today.. Thus we were very encouraged when A-1 told us that even though their schedule for today was full, that if we could be available with a 15 minutes notice, they would get us in. We got a call about an hour later. Our repairman was very polite, helpful, and efficient. Their service charge was not only the lowest that we found, but it was waivered when we had them do the repair. We were very pleased with the work and with the price that we were charged.
