Back in August Mr.*** Brought in Rugs to be cleanedThey were all rolled up when he brought them and wasn't looked at till a later timeWhen they was rolled out all rugs had some staining on themI cleaned them and two weeks later he came and picked them upI later recieved a call from him
that he was unhappy with the one rugI agreed to reclean the rug for him and he still was unhappyAt that time he tried to tell me that there was no stains on the rug when he brought it to us that they were in perfect condition and that we ruined his rugTo try to please Mr*** I turned in a claim to my insurance company which was deniedI than offered to pay for the rug with a receipt and the rug being turned over to meAt that time Mr.*** said that would be no problem to get a receipt, but he declined saying the rug had sentimental value to himMr*** went and purchased a different rug and is now wanting me to pay for the new rug, but could still not provide an receipt for the orignal rugI feel we have went above and beyond to try to make Mr*** happy with this matter and he is simply unpleasableHe than informed us to not have any further contact with him that we would be hearing from him lawyerI than contacted my lawyer to see what should be done and he put in a call to Mr***' lawyer and we haven't heard back till now from the Revdex.com.Thanks, Blue Sky Carpet Cleaning

---The response from Blue Sky Carpet is without any truth or merit They claim the rug was rolled up when it was brought in and thus the rug already had a stain on it The dispute is not regarding a stain, it is about the fact the brother-in-law, who is not an employee of the company and has no training in cleaning rugs was the individual that did the damage to the rug due to his inexperience Our rug was in perfect condition when it was brought inThe owner stated when I first brought back the rug to the company to show the damage done that he would have to check with his brother-in-law on what he did as they became busy, so he had his brother-in-law come in one evening to clean our rugs When I asked if he was an employee, he said no but had helped out on occasion The fact they state the rug was rolled up when brought in is puzzling as most rugs are rolled up when brought in, so I’m startled that would even be a weak part of their defense? Are they saying they didn’t unroll the rug to clean it???Second untruth, when I brought this rug in I mentioned it was purchased in Turkey on an anniversary vacation and was thus of special sentimental attachment I’m not sure what their comment made by the owner in this regard has anything to do with their ruining the rug, but a rebuttal is necessary.Third untruth, when asked, I told them we MAY still have the receipt for the original ruined rug, but I wasn’t sure given it was purchased or years ago in Turkey and doubtful we still had the receipt I called them back and told them we didn’t have the receipt but advised it was purchased at a price of approximately $1,500-$1,American dollars Blue Sky did take the ruined rug back and re-clean it but given the colors were bleached out of 1/of the rug, re-cleaning was fruitless Once colors in a silk and wool Persian rug are bleached out, one would think they would know re-cleaning does not put the colors back in I then took the ruined rug to a professional dealer in Hyde Park who also does cleaning and the proprietor immediately told me what occurred by looking at the damage He said it was obvious whoever cleaned it didn’t know how to properly clean a Persian rug and particularly a silk rug as the bleaching out of the colors was done directly on the front side of the rug and from the bleached color pattern, the cleaner held the cleaning wand directly on the fibers for a long period of time He also asked if Blue Sky was a member of a professional Oriental/Persian cleaning organization that adheres to strict standards in cleaning these types of rugs? He doubted it they were or this damage would never have been done by a specialists with this certification I asked Blue Sky if they were a member and had such training and was told they never heard of such an organization. After several telephone conversations with Chasity, the wife of Walter the owner, she agreed to reimburse me for a new replacement rug I purchased the new rug at a cost less than half of what the original rug cost and sent Blue Sky the invoice In a folltelephone conversation Chasity agreed to send the check for the replacement rug in the amount of $on the condition I sent to her via email a full indemnification of any further claims in the matter, which I immediately did. However several days later, I received a call back stating they had changed their mind and decided to not pay for the replacement rug and were not going to do anything further I advised I would turn this over to my attorney then However, given the amount of reimbursement involved my attorney said it was not worth the legal expense to pursue it. Blue Sky then came back and said they would reimburse me only if I gave them the damaged rug, which I had already threw in the garbage since it was of no value to anyone given the bleached colors. As stated this company has changed their story on multiple occasions in a continuous attempt to not make good their destroying a customer’s property *They admitted their brother-in-law did the cleaning who not only was not qualified to clean a valuable Persian rug, but they claim it apparently wasn’t inspected when it was brought in, (due to being rolled up???) This non-employee had no business being paid to take on a responsibility he wasn’t trained for.*They tried to tell me both in person when I returned the rug the second time as well as on the telephone twice, that they didn’t think they should have to pay for the damage for the replacement rug as they only charged me $to clean it and it was unfair to expect them to reimburse $for a $cleaning charge This obviously is of no logical sense and is indicative of the unprofessionalism this company has exhibited throughout this tragic event.*And, to expect a customer to have retained and produced a receipt from many years ago , is not only absurd, but unreasonable and is one of the many attempts to avoid their obligation of reimbursing for their incompetence If this is their policy it should be stated to all customers and be advised if you don’t keep receipts for your rugs, regardless of the time frame, they will not compensate you when they destroy your property *After they agreed to reimburse us, their trusting customer, for the damage and then decided to decline to do so, and then for the first time decide: “oh, the rug might have been damaged when it was brought in” is again an indication of why this company has lost all credibility in professionalism The rug was perfect when brought in and they would have known that since it had to be unrolled to clean it I expect this company to make their client whole and reimburse me for what they did to destroy our rug I’m not asking for the total cost of the original rug they destroyed, but only for the replacement rug which as stated is less than half of the value of the original and the replacement is not silk like the originalAnything other than that response should tell any current and potential customers to seriously evaluate dealing with a company that will not stand behind their damages and particularly they use family members with no training to service clients sent from *** *** *** **
