Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:I was not difficult to get a hold of that is just an excuse.  This company made so many errors with my installation and they are trying to blame everything on me instead of taking responsibility for a poor job.  They are using the power not being on as another excuse.  While this was true, and out of my control, they also didn't have the correct weatherstripping or trim, didn't have the privacy lock and one of the panels were damaged.  So even if the power was on, they still could not complete the job.  I was told by the installer when he called to let me know that someone from the office would reach out to me to setup another day for them to come out.  After waiting a WEEK for a call, I reached out to [redacted].  He told me that his office has been trying to call me, which is a lie.  I had no missed calls or voicemails from the office, just another excuse for dropping the ball.He also mentioned that they had appointments that I cancelled when the tech was on site.  After my first conversation with [redacted], we did setup an appointment to get the job completed.  Within 10 minutes of setting up the appointment, I e-mailed [redacted] (e-mail was our main method of communication prior to our conversation on the phone) to let him know that I wasn't comfortable leaving my garage unlocked and not being present and that I would let him know when I would be free to be present.  He had no issues receiving any of my previous e-mails, yet this one he says he did not receive even though I have a receipt showing it was sent.  Furthermore, when [redacted] called to let me know he was 15 minutes out, I let him know that I cancelled the appointment with [redacted].  He said that no one told him about the change and that it is the "Story of his life" which tells me that errors like this happen typically.  I told [redacted] that I would leave my office right then and be there in 20 to meet with him since I felt bad that nothing was communicated to him and he told me he couldn't wait 5 minutes for me to get there.  So I made an effort to be present even though I did cancel this appointment. At the end of the day, I was promised that the door would be installed within a week and it took over a month.  This company's communication is awful and their customer service is some of the worst that I have ever dealt with.  I have never been called a liar by a company.  I am incredibly disappointed in my experience with A1 Garage Doors and sincerely hope that this effects their score with the Revdex.com.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

This is not our customer. We do not install gutters. We do not serve [redacted]. We serve the Denver Metro area. This customer has the wrong company!

On September 8th [redacted] with A1 Garage Doors was called out to fix [redacted] garage door. [redacted] did the diagnosis and a free written estimate as we always do. [redacted] noticed that the opener was improperly installed, but first and foremost the garage door spring was broken. [redacted] did mention to...

[redacted] that her son was the one who installed her opener on her garage door. [redacted] quoted the price for the work to be done to replace the springs, in order to get the door to work properly. It is hard to tell if anything is wrong with the opener until we get the door operational. [redacted] then agreed to the price to replace the springs, center bearing, and reset the torsion system. After [redacted] completed the work he had asked [redacted] to use the opener, only to find out that the screw drive opener was stripped and was most likely due to overuse of the door while the spring was broken. [redacted] then quoted $175.00 to fix the opener. [redacted] then replied, “I will not pay you anything at all until the opener is fixed for free” per [redacted]. [redacted] then went outside to call the owner [redacted] for a solution. [redacted] was told that if [redacted] does not pay, to retrieve our parts back. That was when [redacted]’s son involved himself and told her to pay [redacted]. The owner did talk to [redacted] and she did tell him she was scared of [redacted]. [redacted] was then informed by [redacted] that it is illegal to agree to the work and then not pay for the service that was provided. [redacted] did tell [redacted] that the spring quote [redacted] had given her was within range of what it would normally cost to replace them. At this point [redacted] then signed and paid for her invoice. We believe that [redacted] has an overactive imagination and regardless of this we went ahead and completed the work anyways. After completion she signed and paid for the invoice without any coercion. The owner offered to send out another technician to evaluate her opener and give her a second opinion. A different technician did go out and give her an estimate on what it would cost to fix her opener. She then approved the estimate to get the work done. On that following Monday afternoon a technician was scheduled to go out to her property to get this issue resolved once and for all. Before arrival, [redacted] called the office and stated that she did not want any work done until the owner had called her. The owner did call and left a message for [redacted] to call him back. She never responded back.  On September 28th, [redacted] called [redacted] to follow up on the repair that was needed on her opener. [redacted] then told [redacted] that she got it repaired by someone else and hung up on him. Unfortunately, after many attempts to make this right with [redacted] she refused anymore service from A1 Garage Doors.  What actually transpired at [redacted] property is here say. The facts are, she called us out to fix her door. We got her door to work properly at a fair price. After fixing her door we discovered her opener was broken. We even offered to repair it at a fair price. [redacted] refused to pay for service she approved before any work was done. At which point technician started to disassemble the work he had completed. It was then [redacted] changed her mind and decided to pay. We have tried to make things right with her about the opener to no avail. In closing, it is our belief that [redacted] was trying to get one over on us by trying to get us to repair her opener for free. She was properly informed of pricing before any work was started and of possible opener issues. A1 Garage Doors does not proceed with any work unless the customer approves of the estimate. Therefore, our price for this repair was well within reason. [redacted] only wants to be compensated for something we did not touch or repair. We considered every solution to handle this situation with [redacted] and apparently could not be anymore of service to her because she got it repaired by someone else.
